CHOICES

BY:  MARIBETH SCHLOBOHM

The choices weren’t sacrifices or fake

And they were mine to make

I wanted a college education more than a wedding ring,

Knew that learning could cost me everything.

For every choice, there is a consequence

Touching past, present and future tense.

You will make your choices too

And some of them will stick to you like glue.

Whether you marry or stay single,

Have children or never mingle,

Each choice will lead to the next one

Until you’ve walked a lifetime with or without fun.

But, remember always this:

Life leads with its little twists,

Choose wisely, but purposefully choose,

God’s way is best and for this you’ll never lose.
