CHRIST SUPREME

“And He is the Head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all He might have the pre-eminence.” (Col. 1:18)

“Whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him.” (Col. 1:16) This word “principality” is the ‘’Greek word “arche,” same word as used chiefly for beginning. HE IS THE HEAD OF ALL BEGINNINGS, He is the Principal, the chief, First, Supreme of all the firsts. And through our union with Him we find Him our complete Victory, because He is the original First for all our causes.

“The stone which the builders rejected is become the Head of the corner. This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.” (Mark 12:10-11)

It is one thing to comprehend even vaguely that the God whom we serve is ALL GOD that He is everywhere, and we are somewhere moving in Him. But there is a need to know more than that God is over all. Jesus came forth as the visible manifestation which would become A MEETING PLACE for us to come to know the Father, and become one with Him. The Omnipotent God, Creator of the universe, has purposed a relationship with His creation, and it is THROUGH CHRIST we find this becomes a reality. In Him the fullness of Deity continues to dwell. “I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty - the Ruler of all.” (Rev. 1:8) It is IN HIM that man also is to be identified, and we find Him to be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. In Christ Jesus, God and creation meet, come together, are reconciled, and have peace.

He is “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for the ages.” (Heb. 13:8) There is no need to become involved with the peripheral expanse of things, but to be merged into one with Him, the Center of all.
