MY PEACE

Hi Everyone,

Just something to help you along the way today.

The words of Jesus are in red.

John 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We’ve sought peace by sticking our heads in work; we’ve sought peace by trying to find it in others with relationships; we’ve sought peace by going on holidays and letting ‘go’; and we’ve also sought peace by diverting attention away from ourselves by raising a family.  These are all good things – necessary things; but none of these will bring peace. None will bring true fulfillment.

We must confront ourselves and see who we really are, in our bid to be whole.

‘My peace I leave with you’.  There is a peace not known to us if we only see things with physical eyes or the logic of the soulish brain-mind.

There is a peace that transcends our usual reasoning, one that strikes at the core of our beings – the spiritual mind. The spirit has its own logic and modus operandi (See Dr. Jones’ Blog – ‘Spiritual & Mental logic part 1’ for more info http://www.gods-kingdom.org/WebLog/WebPosting.cfm?LogID=167 ).

This peace that He leaves is actually Himself, and it is also ‘the Door’.

John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

John 10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

Historically, there were other ‘messiahs’ that came before Jesus (God veiled in human flesh) did. See Acts 5:36-39. These were the thieves and robbers. They claimed to be the ‘door’, showing the way of salvation. But there is a personal application in this for us today (as always).

Jesus tells us the reason they came: principally for profit. Whether monetary or pride, to be considered to be ‘some great one’.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

So they came to steal, to kill and to destroy.

To steal: take away from us without our knowledge i.e. in our ignorance.

To kill: put us to death, end our hope.

To destroy: devastate our lives, render us useless.

‘Hold on a second’, you say. ‘Doesn’t the cross bring death?’  Aye. But it brings death to all in us that opposes God, but life to our very spirits. These thieves destroy everything!

What other application can this have in our day?

The thieves kill our spirits; They remove the emphasis on spirit and say, ‘ We can trust ourselves’, ‘You are all that you need’.  They steal the very essence of Life: Our trust in God.  They destroy our relationship with the Creator, ‘…we evolved from a dampened rock’ (That event is said to have happened long before the Ape!).

John 10:13 ‘The hireling fleeth…’

You will notice things go very silent around you when misfortune befalls you. You will notice all theories that you hold, and the ones others have trumpeted, all sound very, very distant – even absent in your trying times.  The hireling has fled and the wolf has come and scattered you!  But there is One that never flees. Quieten down and you will hear Him speak.

He is your peace.

Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Grab hold of this Peace and it will grab hold of you.

Seek this Peace and it will find you.

Treasure this Peace and it will treasure you!

Phillipians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

It is a Peace that transcends all understanding, for it doesn’t change with situations. It is Rock-Solid.

It’s always with you. It’s always in you.

Travel with this Peace today.

Stay blessed,
