TRUSTING GOD TO LEAD US
BY: LENNY ANTONSSON
Editor’s note: The “trigger” for this writing was a set of books we received from a dear friend. After Lenny looked them over, he got the following from the Spirit during his time of meditation. JA.
First of all I want to thank you for the books. I looked through them a little bit. At the present time, I’m going to put them aside and see what God wants to do with them. We’re all in a situation right now with God: you, Jani and I and many others where God wants us to totally concentrate on Him. Now, I’m only talking about spiritual things here, not the natural. I’m not talking about your taking care of your children or anything like that. What I’m talking about is that in the spiritual, God is doing something with you and Jani and me and a lot of other people. I don’t fully grasp it yet, but I know that He doesn’t want any human to teach us or try to usurp authority over us in any way, as when someone says, “I have something that you need.” This is what I felt about the books that the man who did the translation was saying, “If you don’t have what I have, you don’t have it at all.”
Everything right now is coming directly from God through the Holy Spirit. “When the Spirit of truth comes, He shall lead you into all truth” (Jn. 16:13). John said, and that is what is happening to us right now. It is very important to be in that place where He and only He instructs us into what to do. At the present time, I’m dying with pain from arthritis caused primarily from the damp Missouri climate, but I will not move from this place until God tells me to do so. I would love to go to CA for about a month, just to be relieved from all this pain, but I refuse to do it. It has to be God telling me to do it. Otherwise, I will not do it. This is the place where I’m at, and I believe this is the place where many others are also. It’s not just about where to live; I’m not talking about that, but to totally rely upon God for everything in our lives. You see, He is the one totally responsible for everything. We have no responsibility in the spiritual whatsoever because we don’t know enough about the spiritual, so we cannot be responsible. The only one responsible is the One who is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient and totally sovereign, and that’s God. He’s the only one who can be totally responsible. He is responsible for our spiritual life and we have to totally lean upon Him. There is nothing else and no one else who can help us right now. We cannot be taught by another human in this place where we are, because they do not know the deep mysteries of God. They do not know the end from the beginning as He does (Is. 46:10). Only God can reveal these things to us, and I think it is very important to realize this. We are at a threshold where God is going to release Himself to us.
When God first started this with me, He said, “I’m going to deal with you in the inner,” and right away, I thought, “Oh, He’s going to deal with all this garbage that’s inside me,” but that’s not what it was about. He started taking me on a journey into Himself revealing who and what He is to me and I feel like I have gone six million miles into God and I haven’t even scratched the surface of the skin yet. That’s just how I feel, but as He started giving me revelation about Himself, the garbage in me started to drop off, one thing at a time. He was giving me a revelation and I could feel something dropping off me, and every time that happened, I felt like a brand new creation again and that I was starting all over in God. Each time, the same feeling came to me. There is a place in God where we enjoy righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. That’s the place that God wants us to be, totally free in Him. We are free in Him. Everything that He is, is unconditional. There are no conditions towards us whatsoever. We are totally free. We are totally not responsible for anything at all.
I am only sharing with you what God has revealed to me. I’m not laying anything on to you. I just want to share this with you because I feel it is important at this time. In Heb. 6, the first verse says, “Put aside the first principles of Christ and go on to maturity,” and then it talks about what those principles are all about. And in Heb. 5, the writer calls them “dull of hearing” (Heb. 5:11) because they were still drinking milk, and so he was not able to give them any more. Then in Chapter six, verse one, he says, “Put aside the first principles of Christ and go on to maturity.” Now those principles have been very important in our lives. This is what happened to me as I was being freed from the first principles. At first, I felt like I was sitting on a branch and the tree itself was Christ and I was the branch. Then, I was sitting on a branch and I was cutting off the branch with a saw next to the trunk of the tree, and once the branch was totally cut off I was sailing through the air, totally free of everything, not attached to the trunk of the tree anymore. And what I saw was that the trunk of the tree, which I thought was Christ the vine, was not that at all, but it was all this religious, organizational garbage that was still attached to me that I thought was part of God. Once I was away from it, I saw what it really was, but while I was attached to it, I could not see it.
The law has a very strange effect on us. Yes, as children, we needed the law. There’s no question about that. We came from darkness. We came from death, OK? Then, we entered into life. Now, God cannot take us directly from total blackness into complete sunlight. That would be like taking me and placing me right on the sun itself. I couldn’t take that. I would be burned up. So, God has to gradually increase the light. What He does, He first puts us into the law, which is a shadow of things to come (Heb. 10:1). This is how God expressed it to Moses. “Make sure you make everything exactly the way I told you on the mountain, because it’s a shadow of things to come.” (Heb. 8:5; 10:1) And you see, a shadow is not black, black darkness, but it is very dark. A shadow is produced when some object stands between it and the source of light. In spiritual things, the law stands between us and God, our source of light. Still, a shadow has some tiny bit of light in it, and that’s where God starts us off, and then gradually, He increases Himself and decreases the shadow. He decreases the law and increases grace in us. In Gal. 3: 16,19, 23-24, this is what it says in the King James, “Now to Abraham and his seed, were the promises made, he saith not, ‘And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” And in verse 19, “Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.” In verses 23-25, it says, “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed, wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a school master.” We are not under the law anymore, you see? But the law is very subtle. It has dug an entrenchment in us, and it’s very hard for us now to relieve ourselves of the law and God is the only one that can show us how to be free of it. The law was there until Christ came, until the seed came. Now, He’s not talking about something 2,000 years ago. He’s talking about something in your life and my life right now. As the seed, as Christ increases in us, the law fades away. In Heb. 8:13, it says the law will fade away. And so, as Christ is increasing, the law is fading away. We don’t need a school master anymore. We don’t need any human being to teach us anything because the law is to control the carnal nature, the human part of us, so we are putting aside the law as Christ is being developed in us, increased in us. He has now flooded our lives to such an extent that we have no need of anything else. So, we put aside everything. We totally trust God for everything and you are in that place right now where we allow only the Holy Spirit to teach us, to lead us into all the truth that God has.
Our natural mind has a tendency to interpret the Bible in certain ways. We want the Holy Spirit to interpret the Word to us, to make it alive. The key is to totally trust God. In the beginning, it was very difficult for me, and for Jani, as it is difficult for you to totally trust God. It takes time. God gradually, gradually increases Himself, increases our trust in Him. The more we see of Him, the more we love Him and the more we love Him, the more we trust Him. I have to tell you, when I talk like this, I feel like an idiot savant. An idiot savant is the one who doesn’t know what two and two is. He doesn’t know that it is four, but one person we saw on TV who is like this, can hear Beethoven’s 5th symphony for the first time, and then sit down and play it perfectly on the piano after hearing it once. And this is the way I am. I get these things from God. They are full of life; they are full of light; they are full of love; they are full of mercy; they are full of kindness; they are full of glory and honor and majesty. I get it right off the “hot wire,” in a sense, but when I try to explain it to someone else, it’s only words coming out. There’s no power in it; there’s no glory in it. There are only words coming out of my mouth, nothing else. It is so difficult for me to do this because I want people to feel what I feel, see what I see, hear what I hear, taste what I taste when I get it directly from God and it’s not there when my words come out of my mouth, but I’m doing the best I can. Just trust God. He is worthy of our trust. Love God, for He is worthy of our love. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.“ (I Pet. 5:7) It is the first step in a journey which will take us all the way into Him with whom we have to do.
