INTRODUCTION

Many have been given the knowledge by the Lord as to what their tribal lineage is, but many others long to know. Until I was asked what tribe of Israel I was a part of I had never given it any thought. I am sure that most Christians fit into this category. Since then I have learned that there are spiritual lessons to be learned from all the tribes’ blessings, regardless of your own particular tribal affiliation.

I am talking of course about spiritual Israel and not natural Israel. To be a natural descendent of one of the tribes you would naturally have to be of Jewish descent. At least, this is what we have been led to believe, but the truth is that the Tribe of Judah is where the reference to the Jews came from. Jacob was not a Jew and Eleven of the Twelve Tribes were not Jews. Read also my article on The Lost Tribes of Israel in which I go into great detail about this. There is a spiritual Israel and anyone who has named the name of Jesus has been born a spiritual Jew. (Read Paul’s writings in Romans 9) I am talking, however, about the direct lineage to each of the Tribes.

In this study you will recognize the particular and peculiar position, characteristics, and blessings of the individual tribes. In this recognition you may also see your own position in a certain tribe, and if so wait on the Lord for further clarification of it. Certain characteristics pertain to all Israel, but these will be far more pronounced in some tribes than others. The key tribes of Israel are Joseph and Benjamin and Judah. Of these three I want to start with Judah first and then Benjamin and finally Joseph.

CHAPTER ONE

“JUDAH”

Judah is the ruling tribe and the scepter belongs to this tribe. Jacob blessed Judah in Gen 49:10 (NIV) by prophesying, “Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you. You are a lion’s cub, O Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness who dares to rouse him? The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff (a lawgiver, KJV) from between his feet, until he comes (until Shiloh come, KJV) to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his.

He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch; he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes. His eyes will be darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk.”

The name JUDAH means PRAISE, and the first part of Jacob’s prophecy in Gen 49 is that Judah‘s brethren shall praise him. Now, there must be a reason for praise being given to Judah. Rotherham translates it this way, “Judah, as for thee, thy brethren shall praise thee when thy hand is in the neck of thy foes.”

This is why Judah‘s brethren pay honor to him. When Judahites were defeated and discouraged, the rest of Israel had nothing to do with them. But when God begin to give the Judahites triumph over their enemies the rest of the Israelites were ready to sing their praises. Judah is known by his HANDS because it is his hand that is on the neck of his foes.

Thus, every Judahite will be noted by the use of their hands. If we could see the twelve tribes as the figure of a man we would see Judah making up the arms and hands.

Some Judah‘s talk with their hands, some work with their hands, some rule with their hands, some play musical instruments with their hands, but one sure sign of Judahites is the strength of their hands. The neck speaks of the will, for to be stiff necked is to be obstinate-willed. So Judah‘s hands always manage to get hold of the will of the foe. This would indicate that Judah is not after the life of his adversaries, nor is he vindictive. He only wants to locate and take hold of the will of his enemies so that he might change that will into the will of God. As a result, Judah‘s brothers bow themselves to him recognizing that he is primarily a leader, a warrior, a conqueror in and through the Lord Jesus. Their bowing to him symbolizes their recognition of the anointing that rest upon Judah.

Next, Judah is likened to a lion’s whelp, a lion, and an old lion. This indicates that there are three stages of development in Judah‘s lion-like characteristics. The lion’s whelp or young lion is fearless and dangerous. It has not lived long enough to have learned some of the lessons necessary in a lion’s life. A young Judahite is much like Peter who was always eager to say what was on his mind without considering the effect on the minds and feelings of those who heard. Judahites who are young in the Lord lack maturity, are fearless in nature and will tackle most anything. Because of their lack of wisdom and experience the results will often be to their own damage or the damage of others.

In due time the young lion will mature to a lion that stoops. The Hebrew meaning of ‘stoops’ is to bow or bend the knee. Time and experience will mature a Judahites character, which will change them from the reckless one into a place of humility where he knows that daring faith must be mixed with humility and wisdom. Their bowing to him it symbolizes their recognition of the anointing that rest upon Judah.

The third stage of mentioned here is the old lion, and “Who shall raise him up?” The old lion has gone through the stages of daring and then humility and with these lessons learned, he is willing to take the place of couching. This is the place of rest and watchfulness. The Judahites always have the lion-like nature, but some are more matured than others which comes by experience and time. Judahites must learn to be patient until this process is complete.

The prophecy continues with regards to the scepter, which speaks of rulership, Judah is the ruling tribe. Again the hands of Judah are brought into focus, for it is the hand that holds a scepter, thus we see Judah‘s hand is a ruling hand. Judah means praise and praise itself is a powerful ruling force in all circumstances. The prophecy continues and says, “The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff (or a lawgiver) from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his. “

The Hebrew word for lawgiver means a graver one who decrees a thing and engraves it deeply that it be not effaced. Judah‘s scepter position is also a position of decreeing things and seeing them come to pass. Judahites are marked by this power of decreeing things into existence. Their mouth works with their hands in bringing to pass their decrees of both righteousness and unrighteousness. An immature Judahite will often decree things that are better off not decreed! So, the ruling hand of Judah is confirmed by his decreeing mouth.

Then comes the strange statement that has been a point of controversy through the years: “Until Shiloh come.” Without a doubt, this refers primarily to Jesus Christ who is the Prince of Peace, for Shiloh means tranquillity or place of rest.

Jesus is called the “LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH.” Rotherham’s translation says, “The scepter shall not depart from Judah until he come in as a Shiloh.”

This not only refers to Christ, Himself, but also to the body of Christ. As a result the scepter and law-giver shall not depart from Judah until Judah comes in as peace and rest. The Judahites are energetic, daring, rugged individuals, marked by the power and use of their hands. They are very forceful, domineering, take charge individuals. In the process of their purification and maturity, the Lord finally brings them to the place of becoming peace and rest to all that are around them. How Glorious!

The next part of Jacob’s prophecy gives us a picture of Judah‘s sacrifice. He binds his ass to the vine and his ass’s colt to the choice vine, which is a strange statement. The Hebrew word for ass means strength and endurance. Judah‘s are known for their strength, not necessarily physical strength but strength of character, will, assurance, etc. The time comes when every Judahite must sacrifice his strength to God. Notice that he tied his strength to the Vine. What is this vine? Jesus said in John 15:1, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”

Judahites and all of their offspring’s must come to a place in their spiritual maturing where they sacrifice all their strength and ability to the Lord and allow Him to be in control. When this is done a cleansing takes place that Judahites never knew before. Judahites will be led by the Holy Spirit to a place where they will wash their garments in wine, which is a type of blood. The garments speak of that which covers a person, and at present time we are clothed with mortality.

There is only one way of changing this and that is by being washed by the blood out of the True Vine. We are to be so joined to Christ that even our very blood becomes clean and filled with His life so that bodies comes into purity. Our bodies will then be redeemed and mortality will be swallowed up by His life. Rotherham says he washes his mantle in the blood of grapes. “And in the blood of grapes his mantle.”

The mantle is a type of authority or anointing of God. Even though you may have this authority or anointing of God you will still have to undergo the cleansing of His blood which will cause your blood to be changed. This God-given authority must be given back to Him as a sacrifice. He will return it to Judah again and nevermore will it be used for any other purpose than to honor the Lord.

The next statement concerning Judah is, “His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.”

And Paul said in Eph 1:18, The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints”

So the eyes of Judah‘s understanding shall be red, literally, refreshed or fiery, with wine. Wine speaks of the blood and again signifies that the changing and purifying of the bloodstream will bring the understanding of Judah to the place of being refreshed or made new. This is not only true of Judah but of all those who are looking for that enlarged understanding of the things of God. The blood feeds the brain and as the blood is purified so also shall our understanding and knowledge be clarified and no longer shall we see through a glass darkly. Then indeed shall the eyes of understanding and knowledge be brought into a higher level. The NIV version states this passage this way, “His eyes will be darker than wine,”

This means that our knowledge will be very deeply imbedded in Christ and out of this knowledge will flow rivers of understanding. Then indeed shall the eyes of the understanding not only be refreshed but a refreshing to our whole body. Through these fiery eyes of understanding we will be a refiner’s soap to the rest of the body of Christ. What a blessed promise! And all of these things are happening even as I speak.

The next thing said about Judah is very strange. (NIV) His eyes will be darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk.”

The teeth speak of that which chews or meditates. To mall over in your mind. White speaks of purity. Therefore, the teeth of Judah are pure with milk. Milk is easily gathered and is a perfect food and does not require chewing. Many people want to chew the meat of the Word before they have taken enough of the milk of the Word. They try to build with no foundation. The teeth of Judah are prepared to chew because they have taken their share of the rudimentary elements of the Word. Milk is the main source of calcium that produces strong teeth with which to chew.

Moses said of Judah in Deut. 33:7 (KJV) “And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.”

Moses first mentions the voice of Judah, which is interesting, because all Judah‘s are vocal. The Hebrew word for ‘voice’ is ‘gol’ which means bleating, crackling, cry, fame, lowing, noise, proclamation, sound, thunder, and thundering. This gives quite a variety of meaning for it signifies anything from the sound of a sheep to the crackling of a fire, from the lowing of cattle to sure proclamation, from a crying to the sound of thunder. Some of this sounds terribly noisy and some more subdued, and that is the way the voice of Judah is.

Some Judah‘s roar and thunder, some are more muted like the lowing of cattle, whereas still others are as the snapping and crackling of a roaring fire. Judah‘s are known by their voice, be it a voice of singing or a voice of thunder, be it quietness or shouting from the housetop. Judahites are a combination of all kinds of voices. At times this is very irritating to others. Moses asked the Lord to listen and hear the voice of Judah which indicates the importance of Judah’s voice.

The next thing said of Moses to the Lord is, “Bring him to his people.” People of the tribe of Judah are rugged individualists and as such they tend to be independent, which is fine in its place, but they also have to be brought to the rest of the people. The word ‘bring’ is literally bring in or cause to come in, and thus the Judahites must be caused of God to come in, or enter into, the company of the rest of Israel.

Judah was always in the vanguard of battle, showing their raggedness, and this holds true of his offspring but Judahites must learn to be a part of the whole. Likewise, all of Israel must recognize Judah‘s unique place and accept them for what they are. Again we are faced with another fact concerning Judah‘s hands: “Let his hands be sufficient for him.”

The Hebrew word for ‘sufficient’ is the word ‘reb’ which means abundant, enough, great, many, mighty, plenteous, etc. and is the root of such words as: captain, chief, archer, lord, and master. Thus, Judah‘s hands are not simply sufficient for him, but they are great and mighty, the hands of archers, captains, chiefs and masters. Hands speak of labor, strength and dexterity and all of this is true of Judahites.

David, who was of Judah, not only knew how to handle the sword, but also to play skillfully on the harp. What a contrast! But this is the contrast found among the Judah‘s, for their hands are varied and mighty in whatever they undertake. Hands can hold the scepter as well as the sword, or bear the signet right of the king or the staff of the shepherd.

Moses’ blessing ends with these words, “Be thou an help to him from his enemies.”

This statement infers that Judah has enemies and how true! Many from the other tribes of Israel are jealous of Judah because of his many talents and abilities. This often causes bitterness and resentment to cause them not to accept Judah and his many talents. Moses knew this and asked the Lord to be a help to Judah from those who don’t take the time to understand him.

The word for enemy is the Hebrew ‘tsar’ which literally means an adversary, distresser, or straitner. Judah deals quit well with ordinary enemies but this strong kind that brings inward and outward distress and straitness is something else. It is here that Judah needs special help from the Lord against this bitterly hostile or antagonistic, hateful, intensely irritating, obnoxious, or harsh type.

Let me encourage you Judahites for yours is not an easy lot, and there will always be those who rise against you, even from your loved ones, but in such places the Lord will be your help. Remember, the Lord teaches your hands to war against the giants, but He also teaches the skillfulness of harpist’s hands that you might drive out evil spirits by songs of praise. God is your help at all times!

Let me briefly sum up the characteristics and blessings of Judah because even if you are not of the tribe of Judah you will still gain spiritual lessons from him. Judah‘s outstanding mark is his HANDS. Hands of dexterity, hands of war, hands of might and talent.

The next thing that marks Judah is his voice because it can be as tender as a shepherd speaking to a lambkin or as loud and harsh as the roar as a loin after prey. Judahites are in nature like a lion, some as daring as a young lion; others watchful as an old one. Judah knows the value of sacrifice and willingly binds his strength to the True Vine. His understanding always proves refreshing as well as fiery insights, and many times that fire can be seen in his eyes. Judah is always an individualist that must become merged into the rest of God’s people. He is the recipient of God’s help because of being constantly assailed by enemies, within and without. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah forever prevails and is found worthy to open the even-sealed book and also the seals of your inner being.

All of us have a part in the Tribe of Judah because we are in Jesus Christ and He is The Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

Here are some interesting notes on the Tribe of Judah. The Tribe of Judah is always first.

It is the first stone on the breastplate. In the Book of Judges it was the first tribe to go to war. In the Tabernacle of Moses, Judah was the first tribe to move out or to lead. Judah was camped by the door of the Tabernacle. Jacob’s sons, by order of birth, were Reuben, Simeon, Levi then Judah. Yet Judah moved from fourth place to first place.

Judah is the first stone on the breastplate of the high priest and the stone is a sardius. Sardius or sardian or a sard stone is a deep red or a brownish red stone and is a variety of the carnelian stone which means flesh colored. It has always been a favorite stone used by the engravers to engrave seals upon. It is a stone that is really worked upon. Notice that the color of wine is red and so is this stone.

CHAPTER TWO

“BENJAMIN”

When the Kingdom of old divided under Rehoboam into the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah, ten tribes formed the Northern Kingdom and Judah and Benjamin formed the southern kingdom. From this we see that Benjamin has always enjoyed a unique position of being allied with the royal tribe of Judah, and this is why I want to study him next following our discussion of Judah.

Benjamin was the youngest son of Jacob and born of his beloved wife, Rachel. He was a full brother to Joseph. Benjamin means “son of my right hand,” and the right hand speaks of power and grace, meaning that Benjamin was the son of power and grace. If you will follow the history of Benjamin, you will find that the Benjamites were men of valor, mighty men in war. Among them were many left-handed warriors who could sling stones at a hair’s breadth and not miss.

The Benjamites of today fall into this same category of being men of power and valor, for this is the position granted to them of old. Let’s look now at the dying Jacob’s prophecy upon Benjamin and his descendants as recorded in Gen. 49:27 (KJV). “Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf; in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.”

If you will note the forth word of this verse in the King James Version you will see that it is in italics which means it was supplied by translators and was not in the original writings. If you leave that little word “as” out it takes on a different meaning, for it then says, “Benjamin shall ravin a wolf.” Benjamin is not a wolf but rather he shall ravin, or tear in pieces a wolf. What a picture of the Benjamites! Those of Benjamin are always tearing up things, and destroying. Tearing up and destroying things that need to be tore up and destroyed.

Nevertheless, Benjamites must learn to be controlled by the Holy Spirit and to use this ability to ravin as a power for furthering God’s Kingdom. What does this “wolf” speak of? In Ezek. 22:27 the backsliden princes of Israel are likened unto wolves. The word “princes” means those who are heads, officials, and captains. Today we have plenty of backslidden leaders among the people who are devouring them even as a wolf devours the prey.

God is raising up Benjamites and will continue to do so who tear in pieces the system of the leaders and the leaders themselves in order that the truth and righteousness of God might be established. In Zeph. 3:3 the judges of Israel, who were backslidden were referred to as evening wolves. Meaning the wolves who work at the close of the day or age in the semi-darkness.

The judges are those who are to execute justice among God’s people, but instead what has happened? They have executed selfishness and respect of persons. Against such, Benjamin always rises in warfare to tear them in pieces. This warfare may be openly done in the sight of people, or it may be done through battle in the heavenlies in the secret place.

In Heb. 1:8 the Chaldeans (Babylonians) are likened unto wolves, and Babylon speaks of confusion and semi-paganism with a little bit of Christianity mixed into it for the purpose of deception. This is the thing that Benjamin hates and does not hesitate to renounce.

In Matt. 7:15 Jesus speaks of false prophets being wolves. “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”

A person can give forth true prophecy and yet be a false prophet because of his inward nature being that of a ravening wolf. Beware of such!! Benjamin is appointed the task of tearing in pieces the false prophets to show them for what they really are and not what they appear to be. So you of Benjamin, don’t be surprised at the indignation that raises in you at backslidden leaders, unrighteous judges, false prophets, and the Babylonian system, for this is the wolf that Benjamin ravins.

Further, it is said of Benjamin, “In the morning he shall devour the prey.” Benjamin does not devour the prey in the dark where he cannot see nor understand what is happening. He always waits for the morning light, the breaking of a new day, to devour or consume that which is to be consumed. Benjamites are children of the morning and love the light of God’s new day and age.

But what is it that Benjamin devours or consumes? The prey! The Hebrew word translated as “prey” is a strange word, and only three times is it translated “prey,” but many times by other words. The meaning seems far removed from “prey.” The Hebrew word for pray is “ad” and is translated as: even, to, into, so long as, till, toward, until, eternity, ever, everlasting, evermore, old, perpetually, etc.

By those words you can gain a clearer understanding of what “ad” really means. It does not mean “prey” as we think of it by any means, rather the true meaning is that in the morning light, in the clear understanding of the new time, will the underlying meaning of “ad” be eaten and devoured.

You who are of Benjamin will find that “ad” which means duration, continuity, is understood in the light of the morning. Benjamites really grasp the great time plan of God and realize that the duration of time is for many ages yet to come, and that the eternity of God’s plan shall be unveiled. They see with inner eye the greatness of God’s “eons” and the mightiness of His plan of salvation that reaches all either in this age or in the ages to come. They understand the sovereignty of God that reigns UNTIL God becomes all in all, not just all in some.

Because of this devouring of God’s never ending plan, the Benjamites may be misunderstood for a period of time, but along with Judah, shall they come out on top in the end. Benjamin eats and devours the meaning of prey in the light of morning, but what about in the night? “And at night he shall divide the spoil.” The word “night” means literally “evening,” the time when the darkest part of the night lies just ahead with the evening being a mixture between light and darkness.

We stand in this place today where there is mixed truth and error, but Benjamin is not disturbed by all of this. In the time of such mixture, Benjamin divides the spoil: divide meaning to apportion, impart, and distribute. In other words, Benjamin has the innate knowledge given by God to give the right portion to the right person. He does not keep to himself the spoil but divides and imparts it as others are able to receive it.

The word “spoil” as used here is also used in Ps. 119:162, “I rejoice at Thy Word, as one that findeth great SPOIL.”

This then gives the clue to what Benjamin does in the time of mixed light and darkness, mixed truth and error. He apportions, divides, and distributes the spoil or riches of the Word of God to those around him. Benjamin is not selfish, but what he understands in the realms of truth he gives to others. Benjamin, you cannot help but do this. It’s your nature.

Those of you who are not of the Tribe of Benjamin will find that the Benjamites will be a real blessing to you when you can hardly discern what is truth and what is not truth.

I want to now consider Moses’ blessing upon Benjamin from Deut. 33:12, And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.”

Benjamin in this verse is referred to as “The Beloved of the Lord”. What a precious connotation! We knew that Benjamin was especially beloved of his father, Jacob, being the son of his old age, but even more precious is the thought that Benjamin is beloved of the Lord. We will see later why this is so. He is especially loved of the Lord and is given a place in Israel showing that position of love, “He shall dwell between His shoulders.”

The bosom of God is the place of the very core of His love. The place where the secrets of God are enjoyed. The place of confidence, rest, and assurances. The Septuagint Version translates it this way, “And to Benjamin he said, The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in confidence and God overshadows him always, and he rested between His shoulders.”

Benjamin has that unique position of dwelling in the bosom of the Lord where the Lord overshadows him. Benjamites delight in living between the shoulders of the Lord, which is not only the place of the bosom but also the place of strength of which the shoulders speak. Nothing is stronger than that place of confidence, that place of being over shadowed, and this is where Benjamites gain their valor and strength for warfare.

We have shown you before that Israel could well be likened to a figure of a man with each tribe having its particular place in this body? In the body of Christ that Paul talks about in 1 Cor 12:13 & 18 he says, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” “But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.”

We see here that it is God who determines the Tribe we are placed in or the area of the Body that He wants us to serve. This is one of the reasons that we should know where in the Body of Christ we have been set to serve.

We saw Judah in the arms and hands of that figure of a man, because Judah‘s hands are always sufficient for him. Now we see that the hands and arms of Judah is connected to the body by that which is between the shoulders which is Benjamin. Judah and Benjamin are never far apart, and in their particular position beats the life core of all Israel. They are the heart of the Kingdom of Israel.

When the Israelites split into two kingdoms it was Benjamin and Judah who made up the southern kingdom. There is a real affinity between these two tribes, and you of Judah and you of Benjamin will always find there is a closeness between you. Often true Judahites and Benjamites even join in natural marriage and find a compatibility unknown by others.

Benjamin is given a place between the shoulders of the Lord and rests there in confidence and safety. This is also his function among the various tribes. Those who rest in the hand of God, the place of power, are usually Judahites. Those who rest in the bosom of God are usually Benjamites. Because Benjamin’s place of oneness with the Spirit of God, members of other tribes find rest and a place of safety and confidence in him. Both Judah and Benjamin are warriors, and they have many similarities but they also have their own distinctions. On the one hand Judah is a lion leaping and warring upon the adversary, roaring and making himself known, but Benjamin is of a somewhat quieter nature. He does not roar as Judah, but he waits for understanding of what is taking place so that he might devour the meaning of God’s truth and impart it intelligently to others.

Judahites are active and busy with their hands, but Benjamites are willing to balance their warfare with times of resting in His bosom. Judahites are independent and must learn to appreciate the balancing of their relationship with the other tribes. Benjamites, on the other hand, are not that independent but rather find they can stand quietly between Ephraim and Judah and be compatible with both. Benjamites are connected to the rest of the body and bring are able to flow with the other manifestations of God’s people.

In the allotment of land the double portion of Joseph’s sons Ephraim and Manasseh were to the North of Benjamin and the Tribe of Judah was to the South. Benjamin was in the middle and brought peace to those on the North and on the South.

Judah is a talker and so is Benjamin, but with this difference. Judah talks more than Benjamin does both in the natural and in the spiritual. Both Judah and Benjamin are rugged individuals and as such are not afraid of warfare. They are not afraid to say what they think and both of them are happy fulfilling their own peculiar position of ministry that God has placed them in.

Judah has a tendency to be in constant turmoil because of his aggressive nature but Benjamin is at rest because of his understanding of the Lord. Judahites find rest in their relationships with Benjamites. In bringing Benjamin forth, Rachel the free woman who represents the Church, travailed. In Rev. 12:2 it says of that woman; She travailed in birth and pain to be delivered. It is going to cost the Church much travail to bring forth Benjamin. It is going to cost the Church her soul, her life and she is going to have to die. The soul of the Church has got to depart in order for Benjamin to be born. The word shall be made flesh and Benjamin will come forth; the son of my right hand and Rachel shall die. The systems of man made worship and the Babylonian harlot church will die.

Do you want to know where this Benjamin company is? Hidden with the Father. In the words of Rev. 12, they are in the womb of the church. The father has had them preserved and hidden. We are living in a time, however, when not only are they being birthed but they are also beginning to be revealed to those who are truly seeking the Lord. Their names are not flashing across the markers of civic auditoriums around the nation but they are being revealed and shall come to the front. Most people haven’t even heard of them.

In Gen. 42:20 Joseph, who is a type of Jesus, told his half brothers, “But you must bring your youngest brother to me, so that your words may be verified and that you may not die. This they proceeded to do.”

The one who will be a full brother to Jesus’ purpose, is to verify the word and to preserve life. Like Joseph, Benjamin is one who preserves live. Why did Joseph’s brothers suddenly become so obedient? Because Joseph gave them no other alternative. He said, “Boys if you want to live; you can’t survive without Benjamin because he is your only hope”

There are a lot of people who will tell you that they just can not wait to see the face of Jesus. I declare to you that in this age you will never see the face of Joseph until Benjamin and Joseph come together. Benjamin will get the woman, the Church, ready to meet Joseph, Jesus. Most of the Church cannot discern the Body of Christ but Benjamin will gather them together and reveal the Christ that is in each of them.

God is going to have a ministry that is going to go ahead and prepare the bride to meet her husband. Benjamin is that ministry.

In Gen.43:1 we read, “Now the famine was still severe in the land. So when they had eaten all the grain they had brought from Egypt, their father said to them, `Go back and buy us a little more food.’ But Judah said to him, the man warned us solemnly, `You will not see my face again, unless your brother is with you.'”

Notice the leadership of Judah? You will never see the face of Joseph unless Benjamin is with you. The Church will never see the face of Jesus until Benjamin is seen among them. What I am saying to you is that you will not see Jesus coming again until you see Benjamin brought forth among his brothers. Without this Benjamin ministry the church will never look into his face.

In Gen 43:29 it says, “As he looked about and saw his brother Benjamin, his own Mother’s son, he asked, `Is this your youngest brother, the one you told me about?’ and he said, `God be gracious to you, my son,’ Deeply moved at the sight of his brother, Joseph hurried out and looked for a place to weep. He went into his private room and wept there.”

Joseph (Jesus) knew Benjamin when they met. He was so moved when he saw the joy he had died for. The joy that had been set before him that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. When he recognized that, he had to go into his chambers and weep. Can you now see why Benjamin is called “The Beloved of the Lord?”

There must be tears in the eyes of the Lord as He sees Benjamin being revealed in this day to the Body of Christ for He knows that the Church will soon be able to see Him in their presence. Benjamin did not know Joseph when they first met. We who have been apprehended for this Benjamin ministry have not recognized Him in the past. There is only one thing we need. His cup in our sack.

In Gen 44:1 we read, “Now Joseph gave these instructions to the steward of his house, `Fill the men’s sacks with as much food as they can carry and put each man’s silver in the mouth of his sack. Then put my cup, the silver one, in the mouth of the youngest one’s sack; along with the silver for his grain.'”

There is only one thing we must experience before we fully recognize our elder brother. His cup in our sack. Why is it a silver cup? First of all I am redeemed. The silver cup in the sack of Benjamin points to the redemption of the body. King Saul began the natural kingdom and Saul of Tarsus gave revelation of the spiritual kingdom. Both of them were of the tribe of Benjamin.

Is there a silver cup in your sack? Is there something within you that will actually cause you to come into this redemption of the body that you might stand before all of creation and deliver it. There is a ministry that recognizes fully their older brother. This silver cup in the sack of Benjamin is a type of the hidden manna that the Lord is putting in the lives of Benjamites who will reveal His true purpose and plan to the rest of the Body of Christ. We are in the dawning of a new age now and are just beginning to fully recognize Joseph, Jesus.

In Gen. 43:34, Joseph sat his brothers down at the table and fed them. Benjamin received five times as much as his brothers. Jesus said, “It is My meat to do the will of My Father.” Benjamin’s ministry is five fold, and will do the will of the Father. In Gen. 45:22-23, Joseph gave his brothers new clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels of silver and FIVE sets of clothing.

There are five ministry gifts to the Church that are going to lead us through change, after change, after change or raiment, until we are clothed with immortality. David used five stones and each of them were giant killers. There are five giants in our lives; our five senses.

Benjamin was the last of Jacob’s sons born in the number twelve position, and yet was the ninth stone on the breastplate. This stone was an amethyst. The word ‘amethyst’ (am’ ih thihst) comes from a Hebrew word meaning ‘dream stone.’ And it also comes from a Greek word meaning ‘not intoxicated or prevents intoxication.’ Some Hebrews thought that the wearing of this stone would induce dreams and some of the Greeks thought that wearing this stone would keep them from becoming intoxicated.

This stone is a deep purple or violate stone of the aluminum oxide family. Purple is the color worn and used by kings, on their person, in their houses, and by people who are rich or in authority. This stone is the Twelfth Foundation Stone in the Wall around the City of God in Revelation 21. The Twelfth Foundation is The Kingdom of God. Nine is the number of completeness and finality. Also it is the number of the Holy Ghost.

To sum up the Tribe of Benjamin, let us say that Benjamin is always against the wolves made up of backslidden leaders, false prophets, and Babylonish systems. He desires the light of the morning to understand the purpose and plan of God for this age as well as for the ages to come. He then distributes the spoils of God’s Word in the time of mixed truth and errors.

Yet with this warring nature and avid appetite for the things of light, he still loves that resting place between the shoulders of the Lord and also the shoulders of the whole of Israel. He enjoys the overshadowing of God’s presence and revels in this secret hiding place.

Oh you of Benjamin, recognize the blessedness of your position, for to you is given the term, “Beloved of the Lord.” And, to you is given the blessedness of having the Apostle Paul among your numbers!

This is the tribe that the Lord has placed me in and it gives me great pleasure to be able to share this teaching with you.

CHAPTER THREE

“JOSEPH”

Joseph is the elder son of Jacob’s beloved wife Rachel and has been a favorite character of many people. Much has been written concerning Joseph and his influence on the family of Jacob. In our study of Joseph we will be including his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh.

Joseph means, (let him add) or (let him continue to do a thing). There are two ways that the story of Joseph can be taught. As a type of that people who have been sent ahead of the rest of the church (Gideon’s 300) for the purpose of preserving life and feeding their brethren. Joseph is a type and shadow of those who are overcomers in the church, pioneering and pressing into a realm and a walk before anyone else. In this harvest it speaks of those who are first fruits who mature early.

The other way of teaching Joseph is as a type and shadow of the Lord Jesus Christ. Rachel prophesied, “God’s going to add to me another son.” That other son, Benjamin, will be a full brother to Joseph. He also speaks of those people who will come to the full measure of the stature of Christ. Not a half brother, not a half message, not a half truth, not 30 fold or 60 fold but 100 fold. Not half way there but all the way. A full brother to Joseph. A full brother to the Lord Jesus Christ. In the story of Joseph you will find that Benjamin is a key, because without Benjamin the other brothers would not have been fed.

In God’s plan for Joseph’s life he was rejected before he was accepted. He was envied before he was honored. He was stripped before he was clothed. He was cast down before he was exalted. He was a slave before he became a master. He was imprisoned before he ruled. He was forgotten before he became well known.

In Gen 50:20 (KJV) Joseph told his brothers, “And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”

The purpose of Joseph’s life and ministry was to save many people alive. Not just to save many people but to save or deliver many people from death. In the circumstances he had to go through, he could have blamed the devil. He could have blamed his father. He could have blamed himself. However, Joseph knew that it was God who was in control and had everything set up in order that he, Joseph, might become the preserver of lives.

In God’s processing of Joseph there were three strippings Joseph had to experience. This speaks of the processes of God that we got through to become a mature son. These are explained by the three great feast the Jews celebrated at the command of God. Passover, Pentecost and The Feast of Taberncles. He was stripped of his coat of many colors. His clothing was stripped away by Potiphar’s wife. Then the prison clothes were stripped away and he was led to the throne. A 30-60-and 100 fold stripping.

Joseph is a type of a first fruits company of believers who come into maturity first and as a result the whole Body of Christ will come into maturity.

Joseph also refers to the “Elect of God.” Principal #1 in this story is that Joseph was favored by his father. Some of you might say “But God doesn’t have favorites.” Yes He does. For whom He choose, He did predestinate to be formed into the image of His Son. Not everybody is going to be in this class. You will find no reason why Joseph got the coat of many colors other than the choice of his father. The seven colors in the coat are a type of the seven spirits of God. Or the full manifestation of the personality of God. It was a priestly coat. It was a coat fit for a ruler. The coat was a mark of distinction, or royalty, of birthright.

Joseph was the eleventh son and he started out in confusion. When you are a dreamer, the first thing the dream will do is confuse you. In his confusion Joseph told his half brothers and his father. He was a dreamer, he had a vision of the throne. When you tell your half brothers your dream, they will seek to do away with you and discredit you.

In light of present day truth, those of the Tribe of Joseph see beyond most Spirit filled people of their day and not only see the Feast of Tabernacles but inter into it. They can see that there are those who will rule and reign with Christ in this age. They understand that it is possible to be like Christ. Those of the Tribe of Joseph proclaim a message that there is going to be a people who will rise and put the enemy under their feet. As the world systems fall apart, they will be the only salt in the earth and they will be here to preserve it not to destroy it. They will destroy the wickedness in people but will preserve them.

There are many descriptive terms for Joseph and Benjamin’s ministry. They are called a Joseph company. Sometimes a Benjamin company. Sometimes they are called a100 fold company. Sometimes they are called the Judah company. Those who are called and sent first out ahead of the rest of the Church. Sometimes a manchild company. Sometimes a first fruits company. Sometimes the elect of God.

It is obvious that Joseph’s half brothers did not like the vision that Joseph told them. In fact they hated him, envied him, persecuted him, and they conspired against him. They wanted to kill him, strip him and throw him in a pit and finally sell him. If you have the courage to speak forth today what the Lord is saying to you in your prayer time, you will be ostracized; you will be maligned, you will be slandered, you will be talked about, you will be hated, you will be envied, you will be persecuted, but mostly, you will be misunderstood.

The first thing to be leveled against you is this: “You are being exclusive and you think you are better than everyone else.” “Why can’t you be like everyone else?” “Who do you think you are?” There is a lesson to be learned in all this. Don’t tell your dreams to a half brother. Who is a half brother? Those who are deceived and set in their ways and are not teachable.

In the processes of Joseph’s life God had everything under control. On the surface or from our standpoint, Joseph had to endure a lot of hardships and trails before he was entrusted with the keys to the throne. Not only was he betrayed by his own brothers and sold into slavery but he was also thrown into prison for something he did not do. Just because you are honest and truthful doesn’t mean everyone is going to bless you.

James said in James 1:2-3, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Paul said in Rom 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

When Joseph was in prison God gave him grace and favor and he was put in charge of the prison house. While there, God gave him the knowledge of what the dreams of the butler and baker meant. Sometime later Pharaoh had a dream and it was called to his attention that there was someone in his prison that had all the answers.

God is raising up a ministry today that has all the answers. Jesus said in John 16:13-14, “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.”

Joseph did not hesitate for a minute to tell Pharaoh the answer to this dream. What the world is looking for right now, is the answer. No one has the answers, except those who are a part of the Joseph company. You say: “Well, where are they now?” In a prison house waiting for the timing of the Lord. They are a king and keeper of all the prisoners. They are waiting for the One who is the ruler to send a word to the prison house calling them forth and to be made manifest. Then they will give the answer before all.

When Joseph came out of prison and was revealed to the king, he came out to reign. He was exalted to second place in the kingdom and given rule over all of Egypt. Egypt is a type of all that is evil. This Joseph company are destined to rule over all evil. After Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream and was given charge over all of Eygpt, God prepared a famine that covered the then known world.

There is a famine that is coming upon God’s people even as I speak. Yesterday’s anointing is being dried up and is causing a famine. This famine of His anointing is to cause His people to once again hunger and thirst for Him. Instead, though, most Pentecostals are hungering and thirsting for His gifts and not for the giver. Preachers everywhere are trying by their own effort to bring back the anointing of yesterday.

In this day of spiritual famine God has prepared a Joseph company of called out ones who are beginning to be revealed who will lead His people to a complete revelation of Him. The very ministers in your local area that think you and I are a bunch of false prophets and heretics, are the very people God had on His heart when He started dealing with you and me. He chose us to be sent ahead in order to preserve them in the time of trouble.

The day will come when the very people that have come against you and have thrown you in a pit, (if you are a part of this Joseph company), will come back to you. They won’t be able to recognize you, but you will know who they are. They will come to you for corn, and you will be the only one who can feed them.

God is strategically placing local churches all over this great country of ours, as a hub of a wheel. These local churches are going to reveal the glory of God in their area. In this time of famine, God is going to bring people from all denominations into these Joseph churches.

The day will come when there is no corn: Absolutely no Word at all in the harlot system. Do you know how Babylon fell? The people sent of God diverted the flow of the river. The same thing is happening today. The rivers of the harlot system are drying up because the cloud of His presence has lifted and they have refused to move on with Him.

There are churches in this valley that are in deep trouble. There are even Spirit filled churches who continue to live in the past of yesterday’s anointing. Their pastors do not know what to do because the system is no longer working. They are trying with everything within them to produce yesterday’s anointing. But the river is drying up and yesterday’s manna has worms in it. Those who have refuse to go on with the leading of the Holy Spirit into all truth and have bought into the Harlot System are going to be without food.

The city of Babylon is going to fall. Rev 18:10 says, “Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry: “‘Woe! Woe, O great city, O Babylon, city of power! In one hour your doom has come!”

In Gen. 37:3 it says, “Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children. Because he was the son of his old age.”

Joseph is a son for the last days. He was born at the end of Israel‘s life. Just as he was a son of Israel‘s old age, even so God is raising up a people for these last days. The age of grace is in the process of passing away and the Joseph Company is being brought forth bringing in the new age of His Kingdom.

In the first days of this age, there is coming a Joseph ministry who is wearing a coat of many colors. This coat speaks of royalty and is for a ruler or priest. Right now there is a Joseph people all over the world wearing a coat of many colors. The coat of many colors speaks of the seven spirits of God, which are around the throne, and the fifth chapter of Revelation says they are going to be sent into all the earth.

“Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.”

It was prophesied of Benjamin that he would raven as a wolf. The word raven means to tear up. Tearing up people in their thinking, is exactly what we are doing. Those who are going to be the son of the right hand will be found tearing up religious traditions of false teaching.

Jesus went through the temple and cleansed it and chased out money changers. He did not announce he was coming, and he did not apologize. God is producing a ministry in this area that is going to tear the religious systems apart. People are going to be crying out: “Tell us the truth.”

In Gen 41:9-13 (NIV) it says, “Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, “Today I am reminded of my shortcomings. Pharaoh was once angry with his servants, and he imprisoned me and the chief baker in the house of the captain of the guard. Each of us had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own. Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us, giving each man the interpretation of his dream. And things turned out exactly as he interpreted them to us: I was restored to my position, and the other man was hanged.”

Notice that Joseph prophesied and it came to pass exactly as prophesied. God has a ministry in the earth that you can try to lock up with your wagging tongues in a small church and you can entice them, you can try to buy them and do to them anything you want, but everything they speak is going to happen, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Notice he interpreted that God would restored one man and humble another. No man has this kind of authority. However, Joseph did, because he was God’s mouthpiece. Elijah walked into Ahab’s court and said, “It’s not going to rain in this land until I say so.” and then he walked out. Ahab called for his doctor of divinity and asked him, “Who was that nut?” He said, “Oh, you know those old prophets!” “They come in off the desert every once in a while.” But a year later, when it had not rained, Ahab said, “WHERE IS THAT MAN OF GOD?”

God is raising up prophetic ministry that will speak a creative word, which will bring a brand new kingdom into existence. This Kingdom will arise and control the affairs and destinies, not only of men, but of nations. God called Jeremiah and said, “I have ordained you to be a prophet to the nations. You can tear them down and pull them up.”

Today, this is the mission of the Tribe of Benjamin. History is nothing more than God’s story as dictated through the mouth of his prophets. Every age that has ever come into being was spoken into existence by the Word of God. Many are sitting around waiting for this Kingdom to come and God is saying, “Get up from where you are sitting and start speaking it into existence.” Many are sitting around waiting for God to come and change them all at once yet God’s word tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Joseph controlled the affairs of an entire nation, and if you will, the entire earth.

In Gen 41:39-41 it says, “Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.” So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”

Can you hear Jesus saying to a ministry, “According to your word shall all my people be ruled and only in respect to the throne will I be greater than you?” This is exactly what will be said to those who mature in the Feast of Tabernacles.

In John 14:12 Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

And again in Rev. 3:21, “To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit on my throne, just as I overcome and sat down with my Father on His throne.”

What happens in your city will be dictated entirely by what is declared by you. If you don’t like the sin and corruption going on in your city, prophesy against it. Most people are afraid to speak the message of the Kingdom of God, because their half brothers will raise up and say, “Well, just who do you think you are?” “Who gave you the authority to speak and prophesy like that?” Your answer will be, “My Father gave me that right the day He gave me a coat of many colors.”

In Gen. 41:41-46 Joseph told them how to plant, how to harvest, and he told them how to store it up. God, even today, is sending out a ministry to all who will receive them, to every church in this great land, saying this is what you plant, this is how you plant it, this is how you harvest it, and this is how you store it up.

From all over this nation people are going to come to those ministries that are preaching to Word and are walking in it. People will request that you come and teach them the Word of God. Through out this nations will go teams of Apostolic ministries. They will tell them how to declare the Word of God and walk in it and how to harvest the souls and how to preserve them and teach them to reproduce. Most Christians do not know how to reproduce. They have fished all night and caught nothing, because they were fishing in darkness. And what they have been reproducing is not the Son of His right hand.

Joseph is getting ready to go through the land and show churches how to do everything according to God’s plan. Not man’s plan. He will teach them how to get people saved. Teach them why it is necessary to baptize them in water. How to get people filled with the Holy Spirit. He will teach them to enter into the Feast of Tabernacles. His ministry is an Elijah ministry as well, because he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers.

Now, let’s look at what Jacob prophesied over Joseph. Gen. 49:22, says, “Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches will climb over a wall. With bitterness, archers attacked him, they shot at him with hostility.”

The word ‘archer’ represents ministries in scriptures. The other ministries have taken aim at Joseph and they shot at him with anger and wagged their tongues. But do you see what is going to happen?

Verse 24-25 says, “But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the mighty God on Jacob, because of the shepherd, the Rock of Israel, because of your Father’s God who helps you, because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings from the heavens above, blessing of the deep that lies below, blessing of the breast and womb.”

When Joseph shoots, the other ministries don’t like him. A Joseph ministry has a word that will pierce your heart. There is a tremendous anointing behind the words of Joseph that will draw you to want to know Jesus. It has been my experience in the ministry that whenever this Joseph ministry is flowing through me, I never miss.

Verse 26 says, “Your Father’s blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, and the beauty of the age old hills. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince of his brothers.”

The Joseph Company has the seven spirits of the Lord fully manifested through them. All of these blessing of the Father rest on their heads. Are you willing to be separated from your brothers, in order that the Lord may use you to preserve them?

In Deut 33:13-17 Moses said of Joseph, “About Joseph he said: “May the LORD bless his land with the precious dew from heaven above and with the deep waters that lie below; with the best the sun brings forth and the finest the moon can yield; with the choicest gifts of the ancient mountains and the fruitfulness of the everlasting hills; with the best gifts of the earth and its fullness and the favor of him who dwelt in the burning bush. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers.

In majesty he is like a firstborn bull; his horns are the horns of a wild ox. With them he will gore the nations, even those at the ends of the earth. Such are the ten thousands of Ephraim; such are the thousands of Manasseh.”

The precious dew from heaven speaks of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The deep waters the quietness that comes from the deep relationship with the Father and the deep knowledge this reveals. Still waters run deep. The very best that the Son brings forth in Joseph and the best that his relationship with the Church can reflect. The very best that the earth can offer will be given to Joseph.

The Joseph company will receive the favor of the Lord who dwells in the burning bush. Those in the Joseph company are indwelled by the fire of the burning bush which is the all consuming fire of God. All who come in contact with them will be consumed in their fiery presence. They will experience the all consuming fire of God when in the presence of the people of the Joseph company. All of these blessings will rest on the head of Joseph, which is Jesus Christ, and since Joseph is joined to Him they will rest on him.

The Joseph company will gore the nations. Their spirit will penetrate all nations and bring about the purpose of the Lord. In the body of Christ Joseph is the neck, which is joined to the head Jesus and the shoulders Benjamin.

The Apostle Paul said in 2 Cor. 3:18 (NIV), “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Transformation is a process that we go through as we continue in His Word learning and becoming what is revealed to us by His Spirit. The ultimate goal of the Spirit is to transform us into the likeness or image of the Lord. As we progress in this transformation process we increase in our ability to praise and worship the Father, from glory to glory. The Spirit of the Lord is changing us into His image and likeness but I fear that the majority of the body of Christ has little conception of what that really is. As long as we still struggle with accepting each other without condemnation, how can we possibly have any idea what the image of Christ is.

John had a problem with this and wrote in 1 John 3:2 (NIV), “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.”

One reason we are at such a loss of clarity on how to describe the form of this new man, has to do with the complex subject matter. After all, this is God we are talking about! Who can fully describe His form? He has so many features and dimensions only a fool could say with confidence His form is this or that. John understood this more than any of us and he admitted that he didn’t know. However, one thing John seemed very sure of is that whatever the form is that we become, when we are finished, we will be LIKE Him!

How, then, shall we become like Him? Only by seeing Him as He really IS. Paul said in 1 Cor. 13:12 (NIV), “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Since God is Spirit, if we are to see Him we must look through the eyes of our spirit.

Let me bring all of this into focus in the light of our walk in God today. While it is true that we are becoming something, what happens after we become? What is God’s purpose for us becoming like Him? Are we just going to be or are we going to be doing something? There is life after arrival! The Feast of Tabernacles the final stage in our becoming like Him, however, there is more to God’s plan for us than just that. Now that we are like Him, what is there for us to do?

I believe nothing has ever been created out of chance or fate, but everything has been created with a divine design. Everything in the earth and the heavens were created by our Father with a designed form and function.

The important thing to understand is that whatever God creates has a design that reveals Him. The scripture says that Christ is the Head and the Church is the Body. The head is the seat of government in the body. It receives information from the body via the nervous and circulatory systems and sends vital information back to the body through the same means.

We have heard it preached for years that we are destined for a headship ministry. After all, it is the Head that symbolizes the Throne of God and it is there where all power is. The Head speaks of kingship, ruling and reigning, decision making, policy keeping, etc.. Recently, however, I have become aware of the importance of the neck in relation to the various parts of this spiritual body.

If you were to ask me what I think is being constructed by God at this time in the Body of Christ, I would have to say that I believe it is the neck ministry. I want to show you why I believe this.

In our lives, today, we need to hear from God Himself and not man. We need communication from God that is pure and undefiled. This communication will come from a group of saints that the Lord is raising up today that will bridge the gap between the paralyzed lifeless Body and the alive, functioning Head. This is the function of the NECK MINISTRY.

The neck is a part of the body that belongs to both Head and body. Its function is to provide a protected passage of communication and supplies between the Head and Body. It is literally a tunnel through which every nerve fiber and blood vessel must pass unimpeded to the Head in order to have a FUNCTIONING organism.

Every command that the Head sends to the Body must go through the neck. If the Head wants the finger to scratch the nose, it sends a message via the spinal cord to the finger and activates the arm and hand to reach the nose and scratch it. This rather simple task is only simple because most of us have a functioning neck.

To understand the importance of the function of the neck in the Corporate Spiritual Body of Christ let me put it this way. The Body can only benefit from the Head as much as the neck will allow. God is looking for men and women to express Himself through. It is time to bridge the gap of communication between man and God with a Neck Ministry that will not tell God what to do but, instead, will listen to what the Lord has to say.

You can be this man or woman if you will rise up and allow the Lord to cleanse you from having been stiff-necked in the past. From not having been willing to walk by the leadership of His Spirit. All He wants out of you is a yielding Spirit and obedient heart. If you give Him all that you are He will do the rest and speak for Himself.

Did you know that you are a pattern of the mount of transfiguration. You are the temple of the Holy Ghost, made without hands, and fashioned by the Hands of the Lord, to be used as He sees fit. The Lord has chosen you, not man! How long are you going to let the things of this world keep you from fulfilling your destiny in the plan of Redemption?

I want to use the anatomy of the human neck to reveal to you an understanding of the importance of the Corporate Spiritual Neck. The neck is supported by seven vertebrae. The top two vertebrae of the neck are given specialized terms because they are different from the other five in form and function.

The first vertebrae in the neck is situated at the base of the skull and acts as a seat upon which the head rests. The medical field has chosen to call this vertebrae by a special name, which is ‘ATLAS’. This is evidently taken from the Greek mythology that has to do with Zeus banishing Atlas to the task of bearing the world upon his shoulders.

This can be likened to the ministry of the King and Priest. There is a definite distinction between the King and Priest ministry and the ministry of the apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher and evangelist. Neither does away with the other but there is a distinct difference in the form and function of each of them.

I don’t want you to have any false ideas about what this Word is requiring out of you so let me say this. If you are not burdened in your Spirit, and carrying the world on your shoulders, then you are not as far along in God as you may think.

Obidiah 1:21 says (NKJV), “Then saviors shall come to Mount Zion To judge the mountains of Esau, And the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.” When the Scripture says that Saviors will come from Zion to cut off the house of Esau, we must understand what a Savior is. A savior is not some angelic being tiptoeing through the tulips! Neither is it some free Spirit unmindful of anything else except its own happiness and well-being. A Savior is one that takes on the burden of the corruption of creation and gives his life to redeem it. This is a sacrificial order of the highest degree.

A Savior is never satisfied with his singular resurrection. He does not rest until everyone from the least to the greatest shares in his victory. And if he must walk through hell to give it to them, then so be it! We are becoming the seat of mercy and salvation to the world. We need a ministry that will hold the Head up from the earth so that He may draw all men unto Himself!

Those of us being drawn into this ministry will gladly bear the burden of the sick and afflicted until they arrive at their appointed visitation. We have the spirit of the Shepherd who declares, “For this reason I am come into the world!” “COME unto me all ye who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest”.

Jesus said that the foxes have holes and the birds have nests but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head. Well, now he has a Neck Ministry that will bear His head to the world and they are not ashamed to be called His Son-Servants. The part of the seven-fold ministry that the Atlas represents is the Priest. The priest bears the sins of the world and esteems each man perfect in the Lord until each is processed into that reality. They remit sins rather than retaining them. They love the loveless and pray for their enemies.

They awake in the middle of the night and minister for the needs that the Lord presents before them. They hold back nothing, but give their all. They are the Atlas of the Corporate Man.

The second vertebrae that is specialized in the neck is called the Axis. It is situated directly under the Atlas. The dictionary says the Axis is a straight line about which a body or geometrical object rotates or may be conceived to rotate”. The word “axle” comes from this word.

The reason this term is used for this particular vertebrae is because it is used to nod the head and give mobility to it. As a result it dictates how far the head can swivel and nod. The word Axis speaks of stability and symmetry. The line it represents is the absolute center of an object around which everything else revolves.

This is the Kingship of the seven-fold ministry. Remember, Kingship isn’t just power in the natural, as Saul found out. A King is at his best when he represents stability and security. The kingdom revolves around the throne of the King. As the King is, so is the kingdom. What we need in this day, is leadership who can walk into our midst and immediately we are covered with an atmosphere of safety and well-being.

Many preachers are great at screaming out the themes of revelation but they have such a negative attitude toward the Body of Christ that it gives you a feeling of uneasiness when you are around them. I see a ministry that is BOTH King and Priest who bear the burden of the Lord with a dignity and assurance that causes men’s hearts to turn to the Lord.

Another aspect of the Neck Ministry is that it is within the neck that the vocal chords are located. Without the vocal chords you can articulate with your mouth perfectly but it will not edify anyone, since the sound is missing. Sound is created when air is forced through the vocal chords, which causes them to vibrate creating what we know to be our voice.

The Lord wants a voice to be heard in the Land. A sound of many waters, thunderings, roarings and such has been heard throughout the ages, but now the Lord wants a clear, articulate VOICE.

Joel 2:11(KJV) says, “And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word:”

The Tribe of Joseph is such a ministry.

In the body of Christ Joseph is the neck, which is joined to the head Jesus and the shoulders Benjamin.

CHAPTER FOUR

“MANESSEH AND EPHRAIM”

Joseph was blessed with a double portion, his twin boys Ephraim and Manesseh. Ephraim means doubly fruitful and Manesseh means causing forgetfulness. The two sons of Joseph were born to him in Egypt. When Joseph heard that his father Jacob was sick he took his two sons and went to visit him. On this occasion the failing Jacob said these words to Joseph, “Now then, your two sons born to you in Egypt before I came to you here will be reckoned as mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine, just as Reuben and Simeon are mine. Any children born to you after them will be yours; in the territory they inherit they will be reckoned under the names of their brothers.”

This would cause Jacob to have a total of Fourteen Tribes. It is strange that Jacob should mention other children out of Joseph when actually the records, in as far as I have been able to find, show no other seed except Ephraim and Manesseh. But, if there was to be no other seed out of Joseph, such a statement would have been unnecessary and superfluous.

In Rev. 7 where there were twelve thousand people sealed out of each of the twelve tribes, Joseph and Manasseh are mentioned but not Ephraim nor Dan. Why is this so? Some have supposed that Ephraim was included under Joseph, but if this be so. why then was not Manasseh included the same way and Dan included in the sealing? There is a deeper meaning than that, for here we see the other children mentioned by Jacob.

To understand this we must read Gen 48:15-20, “Then he blessed Joseph and said, “May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, the Angel who has delivered me from all harm –may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly upon the earth.”

“When Joseph saw his father placing his right hand on Ephraim’s head he was displeased; so he took hold of his father’s hand to move it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head.”

Joseph said to him, “No, my father, this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.” But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations.” He blessed them that day and said, “In your name will Israel pronounce this blessing: ‘May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.'” So he put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh.”

The reason we do not hear of any other children out of Joseph is because Joseph’s other seed was to be called after the name of their brethren (Ephraim and Manasseh) in their inheritance. As a result they have been called Ephraimites and Manassehites throughout the centuries. Today, however, we are finding those who know they are spiritually of Joseph and not of Ephraim nor Manasseh.

Watt’s Distinctive Translation says, “Now your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt prior to my coming to you, to Egypt, they are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh, like Reuben and Simeon, will belong to me, while your offspring which shall be born to you after them will be yours; by the name of their brothers will they be called when they receive their inheritance.”

The Septuagint Version adds this bit of light, “And the children which thou shalt beget hereafter, shall be in the name and named after Ephraim and Manasseh”

But as we come now to the time of the sealing, we see God is clarifying who is of Joseph, who is of Ephraim, and who is of Manasseh.

Moses speaks of Joseph being like the head of a firstborn bull and his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh as being the horns of a wild ox in Deut 33:7, “In majesty he is like a firstborn bull; his horns are the horns of a wild ox. With them he will gore the nations, even those at the ends of the earth. Such are the ten thousands of Ephraim; such are the thousands of Manasseh.”

The horns are the projections upon the head of Joseph, but they are not the head. Those of the Tribe of Joseph will come forth with great spiritual understanding at the time of the sealing, whereas Ephraim and Manasseh will remain as horns by which the Josephites accomplish their God-given tasks. Of course, the question will be asked, “Why is not Ephraim mentioned among the sealed ones of Rev. 7?

As I have mentioned before, Dan is not mentioned there either. This has puzzled all who have studied the Twelve Trives but there are some insights that we can share. In Rev. 11 and Zech. 4 we are faced with the “two witnesses.” They are symbolized by two olive trees, two olive branches, and two candlesticks. These are all Israelitish symbols, as you well know, so these must be Israelites that make up this company of the two witnesses.

As two olive trees or two olive branches this must refer to two tribes out of Israel. As I pointed out earlier, with the addition of Ephraim and Manasseh there are fourteen tribes, not twelve, yet there are but 144,000 sealed out of twelve tribes, so the other tribes of Ephraim and Dan must be accounted for.

Where are they? They will be found in the two witness company, or the two anointed ones, as given in Zech. 14. The two anointed ones literally means the two sons of oil. They are the sons of oil but not full sons of God in maturity. They have a double portion of the Spirit of God; they have oil which they EMPTY OUT OF THEMSELVES (Zech.4:12) but they do not have the “Spirit without measure” which cannot be emptied out.

In John 3:34 it is said of Jesus, “For God giveth not the Spirit without measure unto Him”.

This shall also be true of all the sons of God when they come into His fullness. Many have longed and prayed for a double portion of God’s Spirit, but this is a limited amount. This is the amount which the two witness company shall possess. According to Rev. 11 this company have only a ministry of judgment, not blessing. Fire even comes out of their mouths to consume the adversaries. This is certainly the work of Dan because his very name means judgment.

It is said of Ephraim that he is a cake not turned and as one who has mixed himself among the people (refused to keep his separated position). According to Hosea 7:8, Ephraim goes through a period of judgment for himself as well as judgment upon others.

Many have tried to make the Two Witnesses to be the sons of God who will be slain and then resurrected. This cannot be true because some must enter into a changed body without having suffered death in the flesh. They have suffered death to self and as a result their bodies of flesh have experienced eternal life. Most will suffer death in the flesh and depart this life, and such are those of Ephraim and Dan. This does not mean that those of Ephraim and Dan have utterly failed God by any means. They are fulfilling that purpose of God for which they have been foreordained. They will lay down their lives and then be raised again and caught up to heaven in the sight of their adversaries.

Ephraim and Manasseh were the seventh and eighth stones on the breastplate of the high priest. Now let’s look at Jacob’s prophecy regarding Joseph and his descendants in Gen 49:22, “Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall.”

There is an interesting play on words here. The word ‘BOUGH’ is the Hebrew ‘BEN’ which means ‘SON’, and the word ‘BRANCH’ is the Hebrew word ‘BATH’ meaning ‘DAUGHTERS.‘ This would indicate that Joseph had daughters as well as sons, but daughters are usually not mentioned in the Scriptures. This indicates that Joseph’s daughters today are running over every wall that impedes them. They cannot be fenced in nor hampered in their moving forward with God so they simply climb every wall and fence and obstacle to obtain God’s best. You cannot fence them in with the doctrines and walls that men set up.

The Hebrew word for ‘WELL’ in the foregoing verse is ‘AYIN’ which is translated as ‘EYE’ 497 times, yet only as ‘WELL’ only 19 times and as ‘FOUNTAIN’ 11 times. Joseph is a fruitful son by the eye of spirit of the Spirit of God which is a deep well of living water. The eyes are in the head for sight and vision, this is very appropriate because the blessings rest upon the head of Joseph. It is because of this spiritual sight and the refreshing of its living waters that Joseph’s daughters run over the wall.

The word ‘WALL’ comes from the Hebrew word ‘SHUR’ which means ‘A GOING ABOUT.’ Its root meaning is to ‘turn or travel about as a harlot or merchant’, and with it “to sing”. The religious systems have always been known as a harlot and as such they make merchants of the Word of God. They twist and turn it into a wall to hem people in and keep them in their confines while singing their songs of liberty. But Joseph’s daughters refuse this and run over all the walls that are built about them. The eye (or well) of spiritual vision because of their position in the Body will not let them remain within the confines or systems of religious organizations or beliefs. May God blessings be on Joseph’s daughters!

Jacob said in Gen 23-24. “With bitterness archers attacked him; they shot at him with hostility. But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

The word ‘archers’ literally means ‘master of arrows’. One who is most adept and experienced at shooting arrows. Who are these archers that sorely grieve Joseph? To understand this we shall have to compare the scripture regarding arrows and their significance.

Ps. 57:4 refers to men having TEETH that are ARROWS. Ps 64:3 speaks of BITTER WORDS being ARROWS. Prov. 26:18-19 alludes to the man who deceived his neighbor in a joking way as one who casts ARROWS. The TONGUE OF DECEIT is likened unto an ARROW in Jer. 9:8. These verses indicate that false accusations, lies, verbal injuries, etc. are symbolized by arrows shot by archers and who knows anything more about this than Joseph? His own brethren were guilty of this to say nothing of being lied about down in Egypt and maligned by a vicious woman until nothing was left for Joseph but a trying time in prison.

The offspring of Joseph will always know what it is to have the arrows of sharp and lying words aimed at them. Many a Joseph has been placed in a prison of unutterable circumstances. But that is not the end of the matter. In spite of this situation, the bow of Joseph abides in strength. Then what does the bow of Joseph refer?

If the arrows of which we have spoken refer to words, then the bow that shoots these words can be nothing other than the thought of the mind and the intent of the heart. The arrows of false words sent out by friend or foe against Joseph were met by another force. The bow of Joseph was the purity of his thought and the chastity of his heart. Joseph had no intention of returning evil for evil by any means. His bow abode in strength, which means perennial and enduring.

The thought and intent of Joseph’s heart and mind was perennially unchanging in intent of good for all concerned. The Mighty One of Jacob strengthened Joseph in holding his bow this way. The Josephites of today are know by the mark of ready forgiveness and a desire to see good pronounced upon all whether worthy of punishment or not.

The next two verses concerning Joseph relate to the various kinds of blessings given him and the place where these blessings rest is upon his head.

“Because of your father’s God, who helps you, because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings of the deep that lies below, blessings of the breast and womb. Your father’s blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, than the bounty of the age-old hills. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers.”

The blessings as given in these verses fall into four classifications:

1) The blessings of heaven above (literally, heavens–plural)

2) The blessings of the deep (Rotherham gives it as “abyss, a roaring deep”)

3) The blessings of the breasts and womb.

4) And the blessings of his father.

Four is the number of world, wide coverage, four corners of the world. Every Josephite is known by the desire in his heart for the blessings of God to reach to the farthest ends of the earth. It must be noted these blessings rest on the head of the one who was separated from his brethren. Blessings are wonderful but they must have an object. God has placed these blessings upon the crown of the head of Joseph. This is very significant for the crown of the head is mentioned very little in the scriptures.

The head of an individual is divided into three main parts – the medulla oblongata, cerebellum and cerebrum. The medulla oblongata is at the top of the spinal cord and controls the involuntary muscles, such as those having to do with heart, breathing, and associated functions. The cerebellum is concerned with equilibrium or the body and coordination of voluntary muscles.

The cerebellum is located at the back of the head above the medulla oblongata. The cerebrum is located in the top of the head and is the seat of intelligence. It consists of five lobes, each of which handles special functions as: taste, seeing, hearing, speech, emotions, judgment, intellect, memory, etc. Five is the number of grace and how wonderful we see the grace of God connected with the mind.

Some are interested in the blessings on the medulla oblongata or that which keeps the heart and lungs functioning. In other words, they are interested most in the things of physical life and its comforts. These are just natural blessings. Then, others are interested in the blessing upon the cerebellum so that they are able to act and do things for God by reason of coordinated muscles. This is the place of blessing on ministries. Josephites are always marked by blessings on the Crown of the head, which is the God given intellect under the control of the Holy Spirit.

In view of this, it is easy to be seen what part of the spiritual body the Tribe of Joseph represents. . Josephites who have matured, have spiritual understanding and comprehension. You will find here the brain power of the body of Christ. Minds dominated by the Holy Spirit, which results in and overflow of intelligence.

Josephites are also masters of dreams, which fit into the blessings on the head. These blessings rested on top of the head of Joseph who was separated from his brethren. The word separate is ‘Nazir’. Nazarite was one separated to the Lord for a time during which he drank no strong drink, ate nothing from the vine, touched no dead body, and didn’t cut his hair during his vow. Why? The consecration of God is on his HEAD Num. 6:1-17. He was separated from his brethren because of the consecration and blessings of his intellect.

These cannot be forced into intoxicated wine of carnal reasoning. Nor can they be defiled with that which is not filled with life. Dead words, the carnal mind, and inactive truth, is not for Joseph. Joseph loves his brethren and in due time they will comprehend Joseph’s unique position among the Tribes.

In these dark days of the world’s history shall God’s true Joseph’s arise to be endowed with wisdom and foresight even as the first Joseph was in the darkness of Egypt.

Could the two witnesses we have mentioned before be Moses and Elijah. They appeared with Jesus when He was transfigured on the Mountain before Peter, James and John. They represented the Law and the Prophets. Moses was the lawgiver of the Old Testament at Mount Sinai and he was of the Tribe of Levi. He was born in captivity in the land of Goshen. Exodus 2:1-2 says, “And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.”

And Exodus 2:10, “And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.”

He was used of God as a savior or deliverer of Israel from Egyptian bondage. The Tribe of Levi had no inheritance in the promise land as did their brothers, however, God gave them His tithe from all the Tribes. Numbers 18:24 and in Deut 18:1 which says, “The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance. Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.”

Also, each Tribe was commanded to gave the Levites cites to live in and pasture land for their livestock. Numbers 35:2 says, “Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.”

Moses, since he was a Levite would represent all of the Tribes of Israel. And since he was the lawgiver out of the Old Testament he would be a representative to the Tribe of Dan, which means to judge. Dan was the tenth stone on the high priest’s breastplate and the stone is a Beryl stone. The word Beryl means to break or subdue. God has called for the ministry in this hour to break and subdue and punish everything that is not of Him.

Deut. 33:22 says, “Dan is a lion’s cub, springing out of Bashan.” Ministries that have gone through Dan are wise as serpents and bold as lions. When they spring it is going to be at the enemy. When they claw and when they mangle and when they kill and destroy, it will be against the enemies of God’s people. Representing the Tribe of Dan would qualify Moses as one of the two witnesses in Rev 11.

Elijah represented the prophets of the Old Testament. He was born in the city of Tishbe in the land of Gilead. 1 Kings 1:17 says, “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”

Tishbe was located in the territory given to Manasseh on the East side of the Jordan. Elijah, then, was from the Tribe of Manasseh. In Rev 11 it says, “These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.”

Moses and Elijah were two of the most powerful miracle working men in the Old Testament. Elijah spoke and it didn’t rain till the Lord told him to speak again. In 1 Kings 17:1 it says, “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”

Moses turned the water into blood in Egypt in Exodus 7:20, “And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.”

There is today a ministry that is rising up in the spirit of Moses and Elijah and they are beginning to declare to the Babylonian Harlot Church that there will be no more rain or anointing upon their ministries. As a result the manna of yesterdays anointing is going to turn to worms and no amount of hype and human is going to restore it.

Judgment will proceed out of their mouths to destroy the falseness of the harlot system and the dress of the harlot is going to be lifted and all will see her for what she really is. Ministries that continue to refuse to move in step with the Holy Ghost are going to wither and dry up and the wind of the breath of God in the mouth of Elijah and Moses ministries will blow them away.

The two witness ministry is for a limited amount of time and when it is over they will die and be brought back to life and will be caught up to be with the Lord. It is important for us to understand that even though they have a double portion anointing it is not a never ending anointing. Many today are longing for a double portion anointing which is great but it will end.

Our goal should be to be in that Manchild Company of Revelation 12 which will be caught up in the Spirit and have the full anointing of the Holy Ghost even as Jesus had and will rule and reign with Him. The Man Child Company will not be witness of the light, they will be the light even as He is the light. There will be no darkness in them and when they speak it will be with His authority. They are greater than the two witnesses because they are Sons of the Most High.

The Lord changed the priesthood and as a result He choose Judah to be the seat of His Lawgiver. Psalms 78:67-68 says, “Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: but chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.”

Again in Psalms 60:6-8 says, “God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver

And out of Judah came The Lion of the Tribe of Judah who is THE LAWGIVER, even the Lord Jesus Christ.

CHAPTER FIVE

REUBEN

In the time of the patriarchs when God spoke to the fathers He came to Abram in the Err of the Chaldees, and spoke this to him. Gen 12:1-3 (KJV), “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Abram obeyed God and immediately rose up and left his kindred. God begin to put Abram through a process that would bring Abram into a mature understand of his God and would also prepare him for fatherhood. Abram learned a very hard lesson that his great grandson Reuben would also have to learn. Spiritual fatherhood is something that only be obtained in God’s timing by the leading of the Spirit of God. Only God can bring you into Fatherhood. No effort nor desire on our part can bring us into spiritual fatherhood.

However, God predestined us to be brought into this place. Romans 8:29-30, “For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.”

Can you now see that He is going to do this and He doesn’t need our help. Abram through the advice of his wife entered into fatherhood by trying to accomplish the promise that God had given him through his own strength. This resulted in Ishmael being born who brought much heartache not only for Abram but for the whole world even to this day.

Abram entered into fatherhood through his own strength and effort. God did not accept Abram’s effort and neither will He accept our effort to accomplish His will. Jesus paid the price for our salvation and we must stop trying to pay for something that has already been paid for. Because we don’t believe this it has caused us to establish a gospel of our own. This is a slap in the face of our Lord.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old and he and his wife Sarai were beyond the age of having children, the LORD appeared to him and said, (Gen 17:1-8) “I am God Almighty ; walk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram ; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”

God closed Sarai’s womb until she was too old to have children and until He gave Abram and Sarai a new name. He changed Abram’s name to Abraham which means ‘a father of many nations. He changed Sarai’s name to Sarah which means ‘lady, princess, queen.’

This time Abraham entered into fatherhood not be his own strength and effort but by God’s promise. Abraham become a father not only the natural sense but even more importantly he became a father to all those who choose to trust and believe in God for all things. Thus Abraham became a father to all of us who have faith in the Lord. Abraham is a foreshadow of our Heavenly Father.

Abraham called his son ‘Isaac’ which means ‘laughter’. Isaac was born the son of promise and he foreshadows our Lord Jesus Christ who was born The Son of Promise.

Isaac was given a wife Rebekah who was chosen by the Spirit of the Lord. They had twin boys Esau and Jacob. Although Esau was the firstborn God chose Jacob to receive the birthright. As with his grandfather, Jacob was put through a process designed to bring him into maturity and fatherhood. His name was changed from Jacob which means surplanter, deceiver, to Israel which means ‘he rules with God.’

Jacob had six sons and one daughter by his first wife Leah who was given to him by Laban because she was his firstborn daughter. However, Jacob love Rachel and worked fourteen years for her. Rachel’s womb was closed by the Lord and Leah’s womb was opened and bore Jacob several sons. Rachel become very upset and jealous of her sister Leah gave Jacob her maid Bilhah to marry so she could have children through her. Bilhah had two sons named Dan and Naphtali. When Leah stopped having children she gave Jacob her maid Zilpah to marry and she had two sons named Gad and Asher.

In all, Jacob had ten sons and one daughter before the Lord changed his name and nature. After this happened the Lord opened Rachel’s womb and she gave Israel two sons named Joseph and Benjamin. These twelve sons become the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

Much can be said of the promises given to the sons of Jacob but I want to concentrate on the spiritual side of the promises given to the Twelve Tribes. I would like to give you some basic information concerning the Twelve Tribes and hopefully you will be able to discern what particular tribe you belong to. You will discover that all of the traits of each of these tribes will at sometime be manifest in your life. But there will be one of the tribes traits that will be dominate in your life. There will also be one that will be subdominant in your life. This knowledge will help you to understand what the Lord has in mind to manifest in your life and ministry.

In all of these tribes except Joseph and Benjamin there are both positive traits and negative traits that must be brought into the subjection of God. May I suggest that you also read and study The Twelve Gates of The Holy City. Each one of the Gates in this Holy City written upon each of them one of the names of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. In that study we found that in our spiritual growth we must go through each of these gates which are twelve experiences which bring us into maturity and make us clear as crystal.

The twelve personalities represent all of mankind and each of us are a combination of two or more of these spiritual personalities. And as I said before, we have a dominate and a subdominant personality trait. (See Tim LaHaye’s ‘Spirit Controlled Temperament’).

Knowing what tribe you are from will help you understand why you act and react the way you do. You will never be able to change your personality! Only the Holy Spirit manifesting the life of Jesus through us can accentuate the positive traits of our personalities and eliminate the negative ones. Only he can bring out the beauty of His unique creation in each of us.

Reuben was the firstborn of Jacob and was therefore entitled to receive the double portion of his father’s inheritance. He would also receive the headship of his father’s family and until the priesthood was given to the tribe of Levi he would be the priest of the family. Reuben, however, made a mistake by defiling his father’s wife, Bilhah, and lost his birthright to Joseph. When this happened the sons of Reuben also lost their blessing of being the dominate tribe of Israel.

Reuben’s position was unique because not only was he the first born of Jacob, he was in the position to be a shadow of the firstborn of God, Jesus Christ. No matter what your opinion of Reuben is because of what he did to his father the fact remains that he was still Jacob’s firstborn son. The sad thing about this story is that Reuben attempted to enter into fatherhood before his time by his own strength just like his great grandfather Abram did.

There is a spiritual principal to be learned here. Becoming a manifested Son of God is not the ultimate goal the Lord has for you. What? That’s Right! The purpose of the Lord bringing us into full sonship is that we might become fathers and give birth to son’s and father them. The oneness of God is manifested as Father, Son and Holy Spirit and this becomes a pattern for us in the reverse order. We are born of His Spirit and mature into full sons that we might become fathers. This is why I said that Fatherhood is the ultimate goal that God has for us.

This can be seen foreshadowed in the three great feast of Israel. The Feast of Passover represents our being born of God and receiving forgiveness of sin. The Feast of Pentecost represents our being baptized in His Spirit and learning to minister spiritually. And the Feast of Tabernacles in which we become full sons and enter into fatherhood.

Sonship involves a relationship with the Father. In this relationship we learn to submit to His desires in all things and we learn to be obedient to His instructions. Fatherhood involves procreating and providing for the family and giving wisdom in all family matters and above all else giving abounding love for all who are procreated. God deals with us as sons first and brings us from 60 fold to 100 fold through all phases of sonship in order for us to know our true relationship with Him so He can reveal Himself in us to the world.

Upon becoming mature sons or full, grown sons we will begin to manifest the power of fatherhood. As fathers, we will have the ability of speaking and thinking things into existence. Upon using this creative ability we will then make full provisions for all that we bring forth.

In the natural world a baby son has the penitential to be a father but must first mature and grow into that potential. The same is true in the life of a spiritual son. We are all born sons of God but we each must mature into fatherhood by allowing the Holy Spirit to bring us into that maturity through trails and tribulations.

Reubenites beware! You have a tendency to want to skip part of your training as sons and rush into fatherhood ahead of time under your own strength and ability. This is what Reuben did in type. As a result he defiled his father’s bed which is his place of rest. This disturbing of the rest and quietness of his father resulted in him loosing his birthright and the blessings that followed.

I want you to notice something very important. He did not loose his right or position as a son because this cannot be lost. Nothing you will ever do will ever stop you from being a child of God. Reuben did, however, cause a delay in his coming into fatherhood and so can you. Reubenites are not alone in these tendency toward rushing into fatherhood ahead of God’s timing for us but there are those in all the tribes that do this also. There is a little bit of Reuben in all of us.

This, however, is a real temptation to Reubinites. As fistborn sons they think that they can go even further and claim more than is timely due. Reubenites should be careful not to run ahead of the Spirits leading. If you do, you will loose the blessings of the double portion birthright, which is rightfully yours.

In a very real sense Reubenites are all those who are firstfruits. Being among the first to come into revelation of God’s will for our generation carries with it the danger of running ahead of God and trying to bring it about by our own power. There are many today who are on the verge of intruding into fatherhood as did Reuben and his great grandfather Abraham.

Paul said in Phil 2:5-7, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death– even death on a cross!”

As a son He learned obedience by the things which He suffered and we must also walk the same way that He did in order to be pleasing to our Father. If we will humble ourselves and be willing to bear the suffering that comes in order to learn obedience when the Lord’s time comes we will blend into it as naturally as the night blends into the dawn.

In Gen 49:3-4 we read of the prophetic words of the dying Jacob concerning Reuben, “Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.”

He referred to Reuben as his ‘might’. The Hebrew word for ‘might’ is ‘koach’ and means ability, force, power, strength and substance and wealth. This is true of Reubenites. They are expression of Israel’s abilities, strength and power. They are people of unusual strength of either character, body or spirit. Jacob also said of Reuben that he was the beginning of my strength.

The word ‘beginning’ is the Hebrew word ‘reshith’ and means headship, chief and principal. It come from the Hebrew word ‘rosh’ which mens head. Reuben was the head or chief of Jacob’s strength and the Reubenites are marked with their strength of mind, logical reasoning powers, and ability of versatility in thought. It is this very ability of the Reubinites that can get them in a world of trouble because it can be used for either good or bad. Good if controlled by the Holy Spirit and bad if controlled by the flesh. Their strong mindness can be use either negatively or positively. Reubenites need to recognize this and gird up the loins of their minds.

Jacob also said that Reuben was the excellency of dignity and power. The word ‘excellency’ comes from the Hebrew word ‘yether’, which means super-abundance. The Reubenites always bear the mark of superabundance and overflowing with whatever they have. Jacob said it was a superabundance of dignity and power. The word ‘dignity’ comes from the Hebrew word ‘seeth’ and actually means a lifting up or exaltation.

Reubenites are no mediocre people who are satisfied with a mediocre position. They are always aiming at a high point and reaching it through their superabundance of mental and physical strength. In the natural Reubenites drive themselves into high position by sheer force of strength and will. However, in the spiritual area they gain the superabundance of spiritual height by the Holy Spirit giving them His strength and power.

Paul was of the tribe of Benjamin but he had a lot of Reuben in him. These were the good things said of Reuben and now comes the judgments against him.

Jacob said, “You are unstable as water and you shall not excel.” The only reason that Reuben is unstable as water is because he projects himself prematurely into fatherhood. Reubenites are obsessed with power and always want to be in the head position. Upon learning of fatherhood they want to rush into it whether it is God’s timing or not. Water is unstable in that it takes on the shape of whatever it is poured into. It has no shape of its own. Pour water into a tall and slim vessel and it becomes tall and slim. Pour it into a flat wide-mouth vessel and it becomes flat and wide-mouth.

Reubenites because of their high aim and premature intrusions into sacred things fall back and become like water and conform to whatever circumstance they find themselves in. Reubenites need to be encouraged to move with God and not ahead of Him. Aim high but allow the Holy Spirit to take you there. Learn the lesson of sonship well and fatherhood will come in due time and order.

Moses spoke of Reuben and said in Deut 33:6, “Let Reuben live and not die, nor his men be few.”

This meant that Reuben would survive and come into fullness of life. Not just physical life but eternal life, which will cause a change in the physical life of Reuben just as it did Jacob. The very fact that Reuben is mentioned among the sealed ones in Rev 7 indicates that a company out of Reuben will be sealed and enter into the fullness of life that defeats death.

It was Reuben who tried to rescue Joseph out of the hand of the rest of his brothers. It was Reuben who was grieved at the news that Joseph was sold as a slave. It was Reuben who was quick to remind his brothers haw they had treated Joseph. Reubenites will attempt to deliver a persecuted one and when that someone fails, they will grieve over his suffering. They are saddened at the way their brothers treat someone who has made a mistake. Reuben has a heart for his brothers even though they have made mistakes.

Reuben’s position during the wilderness journey was on the South Side of the tabernacle along with Simeon and Gad.

By this we would know that his location in the figure of a man would be near to both of these tribes. As we will see later Simeon and Levi are in the chest area and due to Reuben’s particular transgression we can place him in the area of the loins where the procreative power are located. Also, in this area that is located the means of disposing the waste water of the body.

CHAPTER SIX

“ISSACHAR”

Issachar was the ninth son of Jacob and the fifth son of Leah. Both of these numbers are important, for nine is the number of strength, and five is the number of grace. Together, this refers to the strength of grace which is manifested in the life of Issachar and the Issacharites.

Issachar was born of strange circumstance of which you can read in Gen. 30:14-18. During the wheat harvest , Reuben, Leah’s oldest son, had gone out and hunted for some mandrake plants. Mandrakes are really a narcotic plant which the ancients esteemed to be closely related with love and a bringer of love.

When he came home to his mother, Leah, with them, Rachel saw them and asked Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.” Leah responded, “Wasn’t it enough that you took away my husband? Will you take my son’s mandrakes too?”

You must realize that Rachel was Jacob’s first love, but it was the custom to give the oldest daughter in marriage first, so Jacob had to take Leah and then work seven more years before he could have Rachel. Therefore, you can understand Leah’s feelings.

Rachel promised in return for the mandrakes that Leah could have Jacob for that night and as a result, Issachar was conceived and in due time brought forth. Because Issachar was bought or hired for love, his name means reward or hire. Therefore, Issacharites are known for their vulnerability to love. They can be easily be hired for human love. On the spiritual side they become love saves unto Christ because of His love.

Jacob prophesied in Gen. 49:14-15, “Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens; and he saw that rest was food, and the land that it was pleasant: and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.”

There surely is nothing derogatory about Issachar being likened unto a strong ass. An ass is a beast of burden and in this case it means a male ass. One that is especially strong and able to bear the load. Issacharites are always burden bearers of one sort or another, and they can never escape the nature this is in them to bear a load almost too great for them. God has granted them such a nature, and thank God for them.

It says of Issachar that he couches down between two burdens, and the word “couching” literally means “bend the legs” or the position of an animal with legs bent under it. This gives us the cue to Issachar’s position in Israel represented in the figure of a man. Issachar is in the legs; legs that are not only swift to run and do but legs that also know how to stoop, bend, or couch down in a resting position. Issacharites are marked by both their burden bearing and by their ability to stop and rest.

It is interesting to note that Issachar couches down between two burdens, and the word “burdens” needs explanation. Only twice is this particular Hebrew word used in the Old Testament. It is here translated as burdens, but in Judges 5:16 as “sheepfolds.” What then are these two burdens or two sheepfolds.

When Israel was divided into two kingdoms Israel was one and Judah was the other one. Issachar was a burden bearer between the two longing for the time when both kingdoms were once again joined into one. In Zech. 11:4-11 we see pictured two flocks…the flock of slaughter, and the poor of the flock. The poor of the flock refers to the remnant of the church that listen and hear the Word of the Lord and act accordingly.

The flock of the slaughter refers to those who have refused to go on into maturity and a great time of judgment and cleansing during these days of great testing and trouble. True Issacharites who are elected of God have a heart to be part of the “little flock,” or the poor of the flock and at the same time they are intensely interested and concerned over those who will not be among the firstfruits.

Issachar has a God-given vision of the rest God has promised us and the inheritance, that is to be ours, but he also knows there is a price to be paid in obtaining such. He is not compelled to bow his shoulder to the load but gladly does it and even becomes a servant unto tribute or burden. He gives of what God will bring him into in the days ahead. Issacharites are men and women of vision, but also very realistic in realizing that vision will only become reality by being love slaves unto the Lord Himself.

Moses prophesied to both Issachar and Zebulun together in Deut 33:18-19, “About Zebulun he said: “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and you, Issachar, in your tents. They will summon peoples to the mountain and there offer sacrifices of righteousness; they will feast on the abundance of the seas, on the treasures hidden in the sand.”

The Hebrew word for rejoice is “SHEMEACH” which means to be glad and rejoice but carries the thought of “shine.” In other words, this rejoicing is not so much in words as in reality. Rejoicing that radiates the light of joy and gladness. It has to do with attitudes rather than verbal expression. This is a true earmark of Issachar…radiating joy and gladness, and this is likewise true of Zebulunites.

But it is said that Issachar will radiate this in his tents. To what does this refer? Our bodies are likened unto tents because Paul speaks of “our earthly house of this tabernacle (tent).” Therefore, the Issacharites of God are not interested in rejoicing in public for men to hear but are marked with the ability to shine forth their joy and gladness in their own beings and rejoice in themselves in the glory of God. Of course, this attitude of joy within is bound to be seen outwardly. Thank God for Issachar who radiates in himself rather than murmuring inside.

Seeing that Zebulun and Issachar have a joint blessing from Moses, we are going to leave that part of it for the present until we deal with Zebulun and then we will include Issachar.

In 1 Chron 12:23 and 32 it says, “These are the numbers of the men armed for battle who came to David at Hebron to turn Saul’s kingdom over to him, as the LORD had said: – 18,000; men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do 200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command;”

It is said here that the Issacharites had an understanding of the times. The same holds true today. There is an unveiling going on today, for those who have discernment and an ear to hear, of the Issacharites. Men and women who are given an understanding of the times that we are living in. They are showing us the meaning of God’s times and seasons that we are living in.

I must warn you, however, that there are also many false prophets who are putting their spin on what the meaning is of the times we are living. Thus, the need for discernment.

Now, let’s look at the meaning of the Gate of Issachar as listed in Rev 21.

Gen. 30:18 says, “And Leah said, God has given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband, and she called his name Issachar.”

The key word in this verse is hire, because the name Issachar means hired. It also means reward. The NIV renders this verse as: “God has rewarded me.” This word can also mean the payment of a contract or compensation; a benefit, a price; it can mean wages.

Here is the Principle: In the Gate of Zebulun you become identified with the body, but it is not enough to just become identified with the body for you must experience the Gate of Issachar because in Issachar you cannot be bought. You cannot be hired.

There are those who have passed through Zebulun and are identified with a local assembly, yet they are sucking the breast of the harlot. They have identified themselves with and are drawing their life from a system that God is going to destroy. Babylon, which means confusion, is a spirit. Any spirit that comes forth and says, “Let’s make a name for ourselves” is a part of the Babylonian system.

If you were to say, “Every man has his price”, Issachar would give you an argument. Issachar cannot be bought, because he has already been bought and he is under contract to another. Someone else has purchased the exclusive rights to Issachar.

There are a lot of people that would like to get hold of this kind of ministry, but he will not be bought and he will not serve another. He is under contract and cannot be bought. Rare is the ministry and rare is the man that has made it this far into the City.

The reason for this in that many owe their life to the system and their allegiance to Saul, because they have their retirement plan already made out.

Many were trained in Saul’s schools, and many have their lives invested in a head and shoulders system.

Jesus could not be bought. Satan showed Him all the world systems. Five thousand men and women wanted Him to be their pastor, but He refused.

Zebulun rose seven places from birth to number three on the breastplate of the High Priest. Issachar was the ninth son and rose seven places on the High Priest’s breastplate, to the number two position. The second stone on the High Priest breastplate was a Topaz. The topaz is a yellow/green colored stone and is transparent. It is called by jewelers, the peridot. They also call it the olivine.

The olivine is a rich olive/green. Yellow speaks to us of youth and hope of brightness and clarity. Green speaks to us of life and light shinning forth or radiating.

This is the ninth foundation stone in the wall of the Holy City and the Foundation is Purity.

Rev 21:27 says: “Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

The word ‘pure’ is first used in scripture in connection with the pure gold used to overlay the Ark of the Covenant. In Exodus 25:10-11 it says, “Have them make a chest of acacia wood–two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it.

All of the other pieces of furniture in the tabernacle were just overlaid with pure gold. This speaks of purity both within and without. We have learned that gold speaks of divine nature and this is the only nature that is genuinely pure. Nothing can enter The Holy of Holies that is not pure. In the Holy of Holies there is nothing but the divine nature of God. Not only is the entrance to eternal life protected by Praise and Judgment but it also protected by Purity.

CHAPTER SEVEN

“ZEBULUN”

In our last lesson on the Tribe of Issachar we mentioned that Issachar and Zebulun were closely related. They both reside in the legs of Israel figured as a man. They are joint receivers of a special blessing from Moses as recorded in Deut 33:18-19 (NIV), “About Zebulun he said: “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and you, Issachar, in your tents. They will summon peoples to the mountain and there offer sacrifices of righteousness; they will feast on the abundance of the seas, on the treasures hidden in the sand.”

In our lesson on Issachar we studied the word ‘rejoice’. Not only does it refer to Issachar but also Zebulun. Zebulunites who are chosen of God are those who are not vocal rejoicers necessarily, but they always radiate the joy and gladness of the Lord. The Isacharites radiate this joy in their tents, but Zebulun radiates it in his going out. Or to say it another way, he is outgoing with the radiation of the joy of the Lord.

When the people who are of the Tribe of Zebulun are given the revelation of what the purpose of God is for their generation, they go out and leave behind them doctrines, regimes, methods, dear things, friends and family to follow the leading of the Lord. As they go out they radiate the infectious joy of the Lord. It is said of both Issachar and Zebulun that they shall call the people unto the mountain. It says in Isaiah 2:3 (NIV), “Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”

The mountain of the Lord refers to the Kingdom of God where the city of God is and where his throne is. Isachar and Zebulun do not call people to just any mountain or to just any man made kingdom or religion or church, They call with a loud voice for people to come into the Kingdom of God which is being established in the earth. That is, the earthly flesh of His people.

The word ‘call’ in the Hebrew means to name something or someone. Isachar and Zebulun name people individually as Christians to the Kingdom of God. It is interesting to note that those who radiate joy are those who also are used to name the people. Even as Issachar was used to help establish the Kingdom under David because he had understanding of the times once again those of his tribe will be used to name the people.

Once the people are called unto the mountain of the Lord what will happen? They will offer up sacrifices of righteousness. We have been told that if we will give the Lord a sacrifice of verbal praise it will be pleasing to Him. This is not so! If the heart does not praise Him, the lip service will be of none effect. We must learn to offer up ourselves as a sacrifice.

It is said of Issachar and Zebulun that they shall suck of the abundance of the seas. What does the saying, “Shall suck of the abundance of the seas”, mean? Seas spiritually speak of people. Hab 2:14 says, “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”

Adam was formed out of the dust of the earth and is an earthy creation made in the image and likeness of God. Only man can be filled with knowledge. When we are born of God out of our innermost being flows wisdom and knowledge.

Jesus said in John 7:37-38, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Isacharites and Zebulunites who have come into the Feast of Tabernacles or the Holy of Holies draw or suck from the manifest knowledge in those who have an ear to hear and recognize the voice of the Lord. The glory of God is manifested in Devine intelligence, spiritual knowledge, and Godly wisdom. This cannot be learned by or from man. It has to be imparted by the Spirit of the Lord to spiritually minded people. As this knowledge of the Lord is imparted to us it changes our thinking or our minds and out of our minds is imparted to our flesh this divine glory which can be seen by all.

As our bodies are being glorified by the renewing of our minds the world will see Him because He is the Word. Isachar and Zebulun because of their love for people are interested in bringing them into the level of understanding to where they can hear and recognize the voice of the Lord for themselves. Besides this, it is said of Issachar and Zebulun that, “they will feast on the abundance of the seas, on the treasures hidden in the sand.” Note that they will feast on the abundance of the treasures hidden in the sand.

The Lord told Abram in Gen 22:17, “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore.”

Here we see that the people of God are likened to the sand on the seashore. What, then, is the treasure hidden in the sand? The treasure is the Christ that comes into them at the new birth.

Paul said in Col 2:1-3, “I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Take courage, Issacharites and Zebulunites, for you shall see that which long ago you tried to gain but could not for the saints shall reveal treasures of which you never dreamed.

In Gen 49:13 Jacob prophesied: “Zebulun will live by the seashore and become a haven for ships; his border will extend toward Sidon.”

Once again the word ‘sea’ is used again concerning Zebulun. However, here we see a different picture than before. As we have seen before, the word ‘sea’ usually means the masses of people. Here we see that Zebulun dwells in rest by the storm tossed sea of humanity and has become a haven of rest and blessings to them.

One of the earmarks of Zebulun is his ability and availability to comfort those who are in any kind of trouble. He does not condemn them but he offers forgiveness and wisdom to them. Also it is said that his border will extend toward Sidon. Sidon means to catch fish. Zebulun not only is a haven for ships but he is a fisher of men. Notice, I said of Men. Not of babies. Zebulun, along with the Lord, is looking for a few good men.

In order to carry out His plan the Lord is raising up a few men who will hearken to His voice and carry out His orders to the inth degree. Zebulun is used of God to fish out the firstfruits of His vineyard. Jerimiah prophesied this in Jer 16:15-16, “As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ For I will restore them to the land I gave their forefathers. “But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the LORD, “and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks.”

Now, let’s take a look at the Fifth Gate of the Holy City which is Zebulun. Zebulun means: HABITATION Not only does Zebulun mean a habitation, but a habitation to be desired. It is from a root word meaning: Enclose, reside, or dwell within. This is the gate where your Christianity leaves the individual realm and your conversation changes from I to we.

The biggest problem we face in the ministry today is people who are wrapped up in themselves. Even to the point that they let you know without a doubt, “It is MY ministry”. I have met very few who have walked through the fifth gate. Even those who are proclaiming the gospel of the Kingdom. Most of them are so caught up in what they are doing that they fail to realize that the last enemy can only be conquered by the corporate body of Christ. If you have come through this gate everything you do, the way you think, what you do with your time, your talent and treasure, is always for the body of Christ.

Zebulun is only the fifth gate. Five is the number of grace. His grace is always sufficient. Zebulun stresses the importance of the local assembly. There are so many people who have had a Reuben experience, and some have gone on to experience Simeon and even Levi and Judah but most of them have stopped there and become a law unto themselves, therefore they only minister corruption and death.

You cannot force people to enter through this gate because this gate must be experienced. We don’t force people to go to church, and we do not condemn them if they don’t. We cannot do anything to put it in the heart of a man to be part of the family of God. Only from the Christ nature from within each person can a man get a vision of a local assembly. I have met a lot of ministers who have told me that God was leading them to do a lot of things but I cannot hear a word they are saying because they are isolated from the Body of Christ.

The Third stone on the breastplate was a Carbuncle or a Beryl stone. There are two different kinds of beryl. The stone is aquamarine or a pale blue/green. Some stones are a light gray color. The blue/green stones carry with them the idea of two elements mixed together to produce the third color. The light gray stone also has two elements, which are mixed together which produces the third color. The two elements are silicate of aluminum and berylium.

Beryllium is the only stable light weight metal with a relative high melting point. It takes a lot of fire to melt berylium. Beryllium has an excellent electrical conductivity. It has good mechanical properties. It is use for structural and thermal applications and nuclear reactors. It is used because it can withstand a lot of heat and is strong.

The principle of Zebulun is that he stayed, was in training, and learned about sailing before he went to sea. This is very important. Where did Jesus grow up? In a carpenter’s shop in Nazareth. Whose territory was Nazareth in? Zebulun. Matt. 4:13 says, “Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali–to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah: “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, along the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles–the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”

Nazareth is a priestly city, and priests would gather in Nazareth before going up to Jerusalem to perform their priestly duties. So, who was there to observe the ways of the priesthood? Jesus. Nazareth was a crossroads of travel and every manner of thinking and cultural exchange took place there. This is why they say, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Jesus was submitted to ministry before He entered His ministry.

Jesus, at the age of twelve, confounded all the teachers of the law. Yet, how long did He wait? How long did he practice the principle of Zebulun? 18 years! I wonder how many young ministries are willing today to go through the Zebulun gate and become identified with a dwelling place; a local church, a people where they can learn about ministry before they go to minister? We must submit our ministry to the Body of Christ, because in the multitude of counselors, there is safety. The new wine is still found in the cluster of Zebulun!

Zebulun’s name was inscribed on the third stone of the breastplate of the high priest. Zebulun was the tenth son of Jacob, the last son to be born out of the Jacob nature yet he rose to the position of number three on the breastplate of the High Priest. Jacob’s nature was being changed even then. It is not where you start that is important, but where you are placed in the setting of the Lord.

Zebulun rose seven positions from his birth because he lived up to his name and became identified with the people of God. The beryl stone upon which Zebulun’s name was inscribed was the Eighth Foundation stone in the wall of the Holy City. Eight is the number of new beginnings. You can now understand why beryl is the stone in the eighth foundation.

The Eighth Foundation of the Holy City of Revelation 21 is praise and worship. It starts in the Holy Place or the Feast of Pentecost. The Apostle whose name was written on this stone is Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus Judas. Thaddaeus had three names. Three is the number of God. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The name that everybody knew him be was Lebbaeus Thaddaeus Judas. The name Judas is a derivative of Judah, which means praise. Labbaues means heart or courage or courageous. Thaddaeous means a mothers breast. It also means ‘wise’. Taking nourishment in order to live.

CHAPTER EIGHT

“SIMEON”

Simeon was the second son born to Jacob and Leah. His name means `hearing’. In a broader sense it means, `He who hears and obeys what he hears’. There is an experience that will help you to hear what the Spirit is saying. That exprience is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Simeon was given the ability of God to hear, not just with his ears but he has a spiritual ear to hear the voice of the Lord. There came a time in God’s plan for Simeon that he was bound in the land of Egypt by his then unrecognized brother, Joseph. There may comes times in God’s plan for you that it seems as though you can hear nothing from Him. Be encouraged in times like these because He has everything in control and is just molding your faith and character.

Simeon’s location during the wilderness travels was on the south side of the Tabernacle between Reuben and Gad. South, in this case, means being on the right hand of a person facing the east. The right hand speaks of power and strength. Simeon was placed in a position of strength even when going through dry and trying places. Those of the Tribe of Simeon will find that they have a special affinity for Reubenites and Gadites during their time of wilderness experiences.

They move out under the standard of the Reubenites and sometimes even think that they might be Reubenites. Simeons affinity for Reuben and Gad, however, is only during wilderness experiences. Simeon finds his affinity with Judah when it comes to inheriting that which God has promised him. In Joshua 19:1-9 we read, “The second lot came out for the tribe of Simeon, clan by clan. Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah… The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah.”

Judah always takes more than he can possess by himself because he has a desire to be a blessing for others who are less fortunate. Simeonites can tell whether they are in the wilderness or in the process of inheriting by whether they are drawn to Rebunites and Gadites or to Judahites.Judah asked Simeon if he would help him fight for his inheritance. In turn, Judah helped Simeon fight for his inheritance.

The heart and understanding the voice of the Lord by Simeon joins with the praise and Lion of the Tribe of Judah to drive out the forces seen and unseen that would withstand God’s people from inheriting the promises of the Lord. As the forever unfolding plan of the Lord continues we shall understand more clearly how these two tribes complement each other.

Those of the Tribe of Simeon not only have the baptism of the Holy Spirit but they have, by much discipline, learned to discern the voice of the Lord. As a result, they recognize the messengers of the Lord and quickly carry out the instructions of the Lord. They will not follow everyone that has a national ministry but will follow only the voice of the Lord.

In Genesis 49:5 it says, “Simeon and Levi are brothers: (This is the only good thing said about them) Instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. O my soul, come not into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honor, be thou not united: For in their anger they slew a man, and in their self will they digged down a wall. Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.”

Amplified version reads, “Simeon and Levi are brothers (alike, headstrong, deceitful, vindictive and cruel); their swords are weapons of violence. O my soul do come not into their secret council; unto their assembly, my honor, be not united (for I knew nothing in their plot); because in their anger they slew men (an honored man, Shechem and the Shechemites); and in their self will they disabled oxen. Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.”

The Second Gate to the Holy City is ‘Hearing which comes with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. What happens if I just stop at this second gate and refuse to go any further? You can become violent and unjust and deal with people the wrong way and damage lives and even be false. Notice it says here that they were cruel and that the instruments of their cruelty were in their churches. Not only are they cruel in their churches but when they go home, they are cruel to their wives and children. This shows the danger of stopping at the second gate.

Let’s take a look at this statement, “Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, forit was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.”

In the book of Numbers they numbered Simeon twice and the second time they numbered him, he had decreased by over fifty percent. This shows me that in every church and every ministry where people stop at the second gate, there will be a decrease in their attendance and growth.

As we proclaim this message in the, people will receive revelation and realize that there is more to this thing than just two gates and they will want to enter into the City and become crystal clear. People are tired of going into churches where there are envies and cruelties, with people always arguing and quarreling; where everybody wants to be chiefs, and nobody wants to be Indians. But don’t blame the people, it is the ministry’s fault for stopping at the second gate, and then gets angry at anyone that preaches anything more. They are well aware that they cannot lead anyone where they have not been. You cannot take them beyond the second gate if you haven’t gone on yourself.

The name Simeon was on the fifth stone of the breastplate. The stone was a sapphire stone. The Song of Solomon 5:14 says, “His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: His belly is as bright ivory overlaid with (hearing) Sapphires”

The inner, most being of Jesus was set on just one thing; hearing what the Father had to say. Exodus 24:10 says, “And they saw the God of Israel; and there was under His feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in His clearness.”

Ezekiel 1:26 says, “And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone…”

Only those who can hear are going to rule

Isaiah 54:11 says, “O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest and not comforted, behold I will lay thy stones with fair colors and thy foundations with sapphires.”

This is speaking of the Church as She is being restored, and the very foundation of this restoration is the fact that this Bride can hear what the Spirit is saying to Her generation.

Lamentations 4:7 says, “Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire.”

God is going to give His Church pastors after His own heart who shall feed His people with knowledge and understanding. He is now polishing them, and this word literally means to cut off or divide. He is doing a work of purification, and I encourage you tonight to present your bodies a living sacrifice and let Him polish you like a sapphire stone. Faith comes by hearing, and when you really start to hear, He will start to polish.

The Second Foundation of the Wall around the Holy City is also Sapphire. This sapphire is different from the present day stone that we call a sapphire. This sapphire is a clear blue gem known as lapis-lazuli. This stone is second in hardness only to the diamond. For the first two foundations of this wall there had to be stones that were extremely hard.

We have seen that the first foundation of this wall is a jasper stone and that the jasper stone is a diamond. The name of the apostle written on this jasper stone was the apostle Peter. We also learned that the first foundation is repentance.

The second foundation is the other side of the first foundation. Just as with the coins we used every day they have two sides. The flip side of the first foundation is FAITH! Faith is something also that will never be out of your life. A careful study of the scriptures will reveal to you the name of the apostle that was written on the second stone. The apostle John is the name written on the second foundation stone.

The order always given of the inner circle of the disciples of the Lord is Peter, James and John. In Luke 22:8 we will see that Jesus put Peter and John together. “Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the Passover must be killed. And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the Passover, that we may eat.”

What two foundations must you have to qualify you to partake of the Passover. Repentance and faith.

Simeon was the second son born to Jacob but was inscribed on the fifth stone of the breastplate. Five is the number of grace.

CHAPTER NINE

“GAD”

Gad was the seventh son of Jacob by Zilpah, Leah’s maid, and a whole brother of Asher. In Gen. 30:10-11 it says, “And Zilpah, Leah’s maid bare Jacob a son. And Leah said, “A troop cometh; and she called his name Gad.”

Gad means “a troop.” On the surface it would appear that all that was meant by Leah’s words was that Gad was a troop and would become so, yet there is more involved here than this. Jacob prophesied in Gen. 49:19, “Gad, a troop shall overcome him; but he shall overcome at the last.”

As it turns out Leah’s words were prophetic as well as explanatory for God spoke the truth through her that a troop was coming against Gad. The name Gad comes from the same Hebrew root, meaning not only a troop but also “to cut.” These two different meanings seem to not be related but let’s look at them this way.

A troop or crowd is something that presses so close together as to cut into another. A cutting by crowding against, as a bank of a river is cut by the crowding of the water, a furrow is cut by the pressing of a plowshare into the earth, and a troop cuts into other troops in the time of war.

To carry the analogy one step further, we find that two main cuttings are mentioned in connection with Israel; The cutting of the navel cord and the cutting of the foreskin. We also have learned that Reuben camped on the south side of the Tabernacle along with Simeon and Gad.

With Israel pictured in the figure of a man, we have seen that Reuben is located in the area of the loins and this is also where the cutting of the foreskin takes place. We learned in our last lesson on Simeon that he was located in the chest area. Therefore since Reuben and Simeon are located in this area we assume that Gad must be located somewhere in this general area also.

The other cutting we mentioned was the cutting of the navel cord and seeing that Gad from the primitive root of the Hebrew not only mans a troop but also a cutting, we can then place Gad in the abdominal area where is located the navel. All this fits very well with Gad’s characteristics because Gad is noted for his warlike nature and ability to fight. . The navel is used figuratively to speak of force and strength which are prerequisites for war.

The Lord described “behemoth” as a large beast in Job. 40:16, “Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the Navel of his belly.”

In Prov. 3.8 it says, “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.”

Couple these two scriptures with the Song of Solomon 7:2, “Your navel is a rounded goblet that never lacks blended wine. Your waist is a mound of wheat encircled by lilies.”

Here the navel is likened to a round goblet filled with liquor, in reality, filled with a mixture of blend of liquids. As a pure mixed drink is a stimulant to greater activity, so Gad is shown in the abdominal area, the navel area, as being strong, vigorous, powerful, and a stimulant to the rest of Israel. Not only is the navel a symbol of great strength but it is the result of birth.

The Gadites will quite obviously and openly show forth the sign or signs of the fullness of birth when the body is changed and fully redeemed.

Gad was the seventh son of Jacob and seven is the number of completion or perfection, and the Gadites are marked by their sense of wanting to see things done to completion. They are not people who do things half way, but completely.

Jacob said that a troop would overcome Gad. Isaiah 65:11 gives the answer, “But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.”

The word for troop here is ‘Gad’. The troop that overcomes Gad is the Babylonia form of worship, which is so prevalent in these days. Gad goes all out wholeheartedly for it and is overcome by it. Gadites in their desire for perfection seek it even through the Babylonian form of worship. The Gadites will wake up when the voice of the Lord comes to them and will be made free from the troop of Babylon (confusion) that overcame them. They will then overcome the Babylonian worship that they have been caught up in and will see Babylon for what it really is.

Mose had this to say about Gad in Deut. 33:20-21, “About Gad he said: “Blessed is he who enlarges Gad’s domain! Gad lives there like a lion, tearing at arm or head. He chose the best land for himself; the leader’s portion was kept for him. When the heads of the people assembled, he carried out the Lord’s righteous will, and his judgments concerning Israel.”

Not only does God enlarge Gad but God uses people to enlarge Gad spiritually, and whoever does this finds himself especially blessed of the Lord. All who help Gad to enlarge in God will receive a special blessing from God. Gad is a real warrior and his battle in spiritual conflicts is not for himself alone but for all of Israel. As a result those outside of Gad become blessed of God by Gad’s strength and triumph in their behalf.

Gad is likened to a lion and the word for lion in this instance is the Hebrew word, “Labi” meaning a bold lion and is translated as “old lion,” or “great lion.” Gad is not just any kind of lion. He is a mature lion with all the wisdom and strength of maturity. Gad “teareth the arm with the crown of the head.” This is a very strange statement on the surface. The arm speaks of the strength of a person and that which holds and wields the sword and that which holds any tool for work. This refers to human strength and effort, whether done for God or apart from God.

The Gadites learn how to control their human strength. They tear or put to disuse human effort by the crown of their head. The crown, or top of the head is the seat of intelligence, knowledge, and wisdom. The Gadites are known by their ability to use God-given and God-directed intelligence to put an end to human effort either in themselves or someone else. So the strength of Gad includes the strength of the renewed mind.

It is said of Gad in Deut 33:21, “he provided the first part for himself.” How is this explained? In Num. 32 it tells how Israel fought against Sihon King of the Amorites and Og, the King of Bashan and how they overcame them and took their land. This land was east of Jordan and was very fertile and suitable for cattle which both Reuben and Gad had an abundance. Seeing this, they asked if they could possess this land known as Gilead and Moses gave it to them provided they would go over the Jordan and fight with Israel for the rest of the land. Here we see that Gad chose the first part for himself. Gadites are never satisfied with anything less than perfection so they willingly fight and war for the benefit of the rest of Israel that they might also possess their inheritance in God. On the surface it might seem the Gadites are selfish in making sure of their own spiritual possessions, but actually they are but providing a springboard from which they might spring forth to help others.

Now we want to consider the position of some of the Gadites in the days of David when he was in exile because of the fury of Saul. David’s position was not recognized by everybody but there were those who recognized him as the anointed of God and they staked their lives on the truth of God concerning David.

1 Chron.12:8-15 says, “Some Gadites defected to David at his stronghold in the desert. They were brave warriors, ready for battle and able to handle the shield and spear. Their faces were the faces of lions, and they were as swift as gazelles in the mountains. Ezer was the chief, Obadiah the second in command, Eliab the third, Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth, Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh, Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth, Jeremiah the tenth and Macbannai the eleventh.

These Gadites were army commanders; the least was a match for a hundred, and the greatest for a thousand. It was they who crossed the Jordan in the first month when it was overflowing all its banks, and they put to flight everyone living in the valleys, to the east and to the west. Other Benjamites and some men from Judah also came to David in his stronghold.”

We again see in this scripture the strength and warring ability of Gad. When the Gadites who are chosen of God see the truth and catch a glimpse of what God is doing, there is nothing that can stop them. Notice here that these men crossed Jordan when it was flooding. They cared not for difficulties and hindrances. Notice also, they were interested in being with God’s anointed and in seeing the establishment of the throne to David. To the chosen Gadites, every difficulty becomes a steppingstone to better things. They do not look for easy ways, but rather for God’s way.

Notice these Gadites have faces like lions–fearless, strong, undaunted. The nature of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, even Jesus the Christ and Lord was in them. They could face anything without fearing the outcome. But along with this fearlessness is a strong faith and undying love. These Gadites were swift as the roes upon the mountains. The roes is of the deer family whose feet are light and swift and sure. They can scale the exalted heights with ease in spite of the difficulties and will not be satisfied with anything less than the heights. So it is with the men of the Tribe of Gad–they cannot accept anything less than the best. And in the Spirit of God they set their feet upon the heights of spirituality and move upward until they stand on top of the peaks of spiritual reality. Such are the men of Gad who will help usher in the Kingdom of God upon the earth! They know the reality that, “We must through much tribulation enter into the Kingdom.”

The Tribe of Gad will begin to make itself felt in these days. As those Gadites who are chosen of God come to the front they will be known by their great strength for spiritual conflict. For their readiness of mind to turn from the Babylonian way of worship and enter into true worship unto God. Their desire is to take the country of giants and position themselves in their inheritance in order that they might step forth and help others. They have undying devotion to see the Kingdom established in completion and perfection.

Now let’s look at the Gate of Dan to the Holy City. The eighth gate is knowing by experience that you are part of that troop. When you come as far as the eighth gate to the City you will know that you were in the bosom and the mind and the heart and the counsel of God before he laid the foundation of the world. If you go through this gate, nothing will move you. Nothing will offend you. Nothing will upset you. Nothing will cause you to want to bail out.

If you ever get a revelation in your spirit that God had you in His heart before you were born, it will change your life. God brought Jesus out of His bosom the Word says and there was more than one Son in His bosom. There was a troop in the bosom of God. God has always had a family in His heart.

Gad was the sixth stone on the breastplate. The stone was a diamond. Jeremiah said in Jer. 17:1, “The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron and with the point of a diamond; it is engraved on the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of their alters.”

God is raising up a troop who are going to pinpoint the son of the Church. God is bringing forth a troop that will stand without fear or favor and in humility declare the sin of the Church and prepare her to meet Her Husband.

If you ever pass through the gate of Gad you will experience knowing that you were in the loins of God before the foundation of the world as a troop, a people, a family. This will be the evidence of this in the way you live and the fruit you produce. If you pass through this gate, you will absolutely know beyond any shadow of a doubt that you are from God and He has raised you up for just such a time as this. If you pass through this gate you will know that absolutely nothing can come your way, no circumstance, no obstacle, no temptation, no test, and no devil in hell that can ever begin to move you, persuade you from the determination and the dedication and the preservation of this walk with God.

I am saying that it is possible to reach a place in God where you will never fall. But you will have to pass through eight gates to get there. As you pass through these gates of experience you will acquire the traits of each of the Twelve Tribes.

There is a troop of servants marching out of the bosom of God through out the world demonstrating the nature of God.

CHAPTER TEN

“ASHER”

Asher was the eighth son of Jacob and the second son of Zilpah, which in itself indicates some of the earmarks of the nature of Asher. Eight is the number of new beginnings, and two is the number of witness. Putting the two figures together, you arrive at the meaning of a “witness of a new beginning.” Those of the Tribe of Asher always bear within themselves the witness of a new beginning. They are not people who give up readily or lose hope easily. They are always assured that there is a new beginning beyond their complete failures. They are convinced that there is a daybreak after their dark night of trail and a rainbow of promise in their every storm.

The name ASHER means HAPPY and this very meaning goes along with what we have already said of Asher. Aherites are not happy because they have everything they want or because every prayer is answered according to their thinking or because they have pleasant surroundings. Their happiness springs from deep within and they rejoice in the Lord their God in spite of all hard situations in which they find themselves. Their joy is an inward disposition that looks above and beyond the momentary irritations and troubles to behold the hand of God working in sovereignty.

Jacob prophesied in Gen 49:20, “Out of Asher is bread which shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.”

Notice the opening words of this prophecy–OUT OF ASHER. We have already mentioned that Asher has an inward joy and hope, which flows out to those around him. Out of the abundance of Asher’s heart there flows bread which is fat.

In Matt. 4:4 you will see that Jesus compares the Word of God to bread for He said, “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

The bread that comes out of Asher is the Word of God. The word ‘fat’ literally means oily or anointed. The Asherites who are being matured of God have the blessed reality of having the Word of God come forth from out of them with the anointing of God upon it. These Asherites are not just hearers of the Word but the Word is a living force within them which bears them through the trying places with confidence. And when it comes forth out of them with the anointing and blessing of God it becomes real even to others.

Asherites have this rare quality of having joy and hope and faith even in the dark places. In addition the Word of God is so real to them that they believe it even if others don’t. And when they speak the Word out of themselves, it is not only with a calm assurance but with the oil of the Holy Spirit on it.

Jacob further said that Asher “shall yield royal dainties.”

The word YIELD comes from the Hebrew word NATHAN which means to GIVE–give without restraint, without stinting, without being asked. What the royal dainties that Asher gives is the word. ROYAL literally means KINGLY or OF THE KING. The word ‘DAINTIES’ it is more easily understood from the primitive root of the Hebrew which means SOFT or PLEASANT. Harshness is not a part of a true Asherite’s nature, but they yield, as fruit in season, the pleasantness and softness of the King of Kings.

Moses, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said of Asher in Deut. 33:24-25, “Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil. Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days so shall thy strength be.”

The first part of this blessing upon Asher has to do with children, literally, SONS, mature sons, or we could go even further and say “sonship.” There are many who have children who are not blessed with them, but rather such are a heartbreak to them, but this is not so with Asher. The promise of God to Asher is that he shall produce sons, mature sons, grown-up sons. This in the natural looks like an impossibility to everyone but it is not, for God’s promise is true. Then shall there be a blending together of the soft nature of Asher, the more boisterous nature of Judah and Gad, and the more judging nature of Dan, and the more worshipful nature of Levi. God shall blend and cause to flow together the various natures of the various tribes until not only Asher but every tribe shall be acceptable to every other tribe.

Now comes the statement that gives us the key to Asher’s position in Israel as represented by the figure of a man: “let him dip his foot in oil.” The Hebrew word for oils is Shemen and means to shine. Anything that is oily is shiny. Oil is a type of the anointing to the Holy Spirit and for Asher to dip his foot in oil speaks of his walk being anointed of God. If a person dips his foot in oil and then walks there is going to be a trail wherever he goes, for he will leave the mark of oil everywhere he steps.

This does not mean that Asherites do a lot of talking or so-called witnessing, but their very walk of life is anointed of God. Which is something, which cannot be hidden from the eyes of others. We can plainly see that Asher belongs in the feet of Israel because Asher moves along quietly and joyfully in the anointed walk before God and men.

Paul said in Romans 10:15, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

The next statement further confirms Asher’s position, “Thy shoes shall be iron and brass.”

When the anointed foot is shod, the shoes become anointed also. Asher’s shoes are to be of iron and brass–iron meaning strength and brass meaning judgment. Asher’s nature is not to judge anyone, but Asher’s very walk before God beings judgment upon people. This is not vindictive judgment but judgment unto life. This very judgment is anointed in such a manner that many do not even realize it is judgment at all. Asher is granted to walk in shoes of iron and strength unto which an anointed foot has been placed and which speaks of the strength of God being granted unto him.

The last phrase of Moses’ blessing on Asher is one that has been quoted over and over again and which has been a real blessing to many, “As thy days, so shall thy strength be.” God grants unto His Asherites that enviable quality of walking a day at a time in the strength of God. They do not try to cope with tomorrow’s problems until tomorrow comes. They know there will be the strength of God for whatever the day holds in store. This quiet confidence sees them through each day regardless of its pressures or its joys.

A bit of Asher’s history is interesting here. Asherites helped Gideon in his fight against the Midianites. They also came to David in Hebron to make him King. And they came to keep the Passover under the reign of Hezekiah when the King sought to bring Israel back to God. Always at a time of crisis you will find the God-elected Aherites on the side of righteousness. They may have to contend along with Gideon against Median which means STRIFE for Asherites hate strife as they hate poison.

They also recognize God’s man, like David, and they will go to all lengths to see that God’s man comes into his God-given position. They likewise are ever on the job when the restoration of God’s order of worship is to be accomplished. These favored Asherites who walk with hope, joy, and peace are always on hand when God is about to bring forth His purpose on earth.

When Mary and Joseph brought the infant Jesus into the Temple where Simeon prophesied over Him there was one Anna a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the Tribe of Asher. She was of a great age and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity. She was a widow of eighty-four years and never left the temple but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying. Anna come in while Simeon was prophesying over the infant Jesus, and she recognized the Christ and gave forth thanks. When she saw the baby she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

True Aherites recognize what God is doing even when it is in its infancy and true to their nature they give thanks for it knowing the fruition of the small beginning is sure. And being assured of what God is doing they will be quick to tell it to those who are looking for God’s redemption in Jerusalem. She didn’t tell those who were not looking for looking because it would be like casting pearls before swine. She only spoke to those who were ready to hear it. Asherites speak a word in season to those who have ears to hear but otherwise keeps the secrets of God tucked quietly away in their heart.

7. The gate of Asher is the ninth gate of the Holy City. If you experience the ninth gate on your way into the City, you will be content in every circumstance. This contentment comes from a peace within you from the Christ nature. The proof of this contentment within is the flow of worship. It is not natural to be content. The world is going crazy with fear and worry and doubt and unbelief. In the midst of all this, God is preparing a people with the spirit of Asher and a City so the nations can walk in the light of the nature that God is producing in them. God is releasing in us His nature and we are learning to be content with every circumstance we are faced with. You won’t hear us Asherites gripping and complaining about it.

Principal There is no prison door, there is no chain, there is no circumstance that can bind a nature. God is wanting us to come into a walk where we can be absolutely content in every circumstance.

Paul says in II Tim. 2:10, “Therefore, I endure all things for the sake of the elect that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. Here is a trustworthy statement: If we died with Him, we shall also live with Him, if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we are faithless, He will remain faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.”

Principal You have been given His nature which is one with your spirit which means that there is no longer Jesus and you but you have become the same life, the same nature, the same spirit of God that made He and Jesus one.

There is nothing in all of creation that can separate this union. Nothing!!!!

Paul said in Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Jesus had passed through Gate 9, Asher, and he understood what real joy was all about. Jesus was the happiest man who ever lived. Because Jesus loved righteousness and hated wickedness He was anointed of God with the oil of joy. We have been told about Jesus that He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. But it was your grief He was acquainted with, because He didn’t have any!

Those who are walking in Him, who have passed through Asher, are burdened with your grief’s, not theirs. Simply, because they don’t have any. They are content. You see, if I cast all my care upon him, I don’t have any. The purpose for the Asher experience in Jesus is so you can lay aside all your grief’s and care and devote your time to being an intercessor for others. An intercessor is one who has a burden for another and is free to spend their time praying for someone else.

There are people who have walked through this gate and they are happy. We are beginning to see what happens as the remnant stands up stands up and declares to everyone that we can’t be destroyed because, I am. I cannot be worried, because I am. I cannot be anything else but happy, because I am. I am always content, because I am.

The world and most Christians can’t understand someone like us. That is OK because the nature of I am is being developed in them and they will come to know that all is well despite the circumstance. We who have passed through this Ninth Gate have been delivered from worry and once we get this far in our maturing process, nothing will get the best of us because we know who we are.

There will flow from the man who has walked through the experience of Asher, a rich ministry to the body of Christ.

Jesus said in Jn. 7:37, “Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Proverbs 15:15 says, “All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.” If you have come through Asher, you have a merry heart. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.”

There is a healing ministry coming out of Asher and is binding up the wounds in the body of Christ. As we have seen in Gen 49:20 it says, “He will provide (or yield) delicacies fit for a king.”

The word `provide’ or `yield’ means to give. If you are a giver, then you will be happy because the secret of happiness is being a giver, not a taker. Show me someone who is always worried and I will show you some one who is a taker and not a giver. You won’t make it through this gate if you are a taker. But the giver always have something to give? He has delicacies!! He has pleasure, delight, and ministers cheer.

Who stood up in the midst of the storm and said, “Be of good cheer!” Jesus! Those who are worried, “Cheer up!” God is love. There is no fear and no worry in love. What does perfect love do to fear and worry? Casts them out.

Asher was the eleventh stone on the breastplate. The stone Asher was engraved on is an onyx stone. There were two stones on the shoulders of the high priest as well as the twelve on the breastplate. The two stones that were on the shoulders of the high priest had engraved six tribes on each stone and were onyx stones. Onyx is the color of flesh.

God is looking for some shoulders in this man he is creating that he can put government on. He is looking for some people who are responsible to rule.

Caution Asherites!!!

Do you know why Asher fell from the eighth place to the eleventh place on the breastplate? Because he didn’t share that happiness. Asherites of today don’t allow your inheritance to slip away because you fail to take the time to share your happiness with others.

Asher, was prophesied to have ministry flow out of him and to give unto others that which would bring pleasure and delight to them. But when called upon in the time of war, the time for battle, he did not respond. He said, “Go fight the enemy yourselves.” “I’m content to stay home.” “Why should we get involved in that, anyway?” “Let someone else do it.” “We are too busy maintaining the status quo!”

Caution Asherites!!!

Jesus was content and happy before we came along. Why did he want to mess with us? He didn’t have to get involved. But praise God He did. The reason why He did is explained by His nature. His nature is love and to love is to give oneself to another.

As we have seen, Moses said of Asher, “Most blessed of sons, is Asher,”

Asher, because of his happy, contented nature will be highly blessed among his brethren. They will respect him and favor him because of his happy, loving, giving nature. His immature brothers, however, are envious and jealous of him because he is blessed and they can’t understand why. Because they will not allow the loving, giving nature of God to flow out of them. They are takers.

If you get this far into the city there will be people who envy you. There will be people who will want to condemn you and make you as miserable as they are. There will be those who will want you to come and feel sorry for them and want you to mourn with them because they have it so rough. We are certainly supposed to have compassion on those who are having difficult times. However, there is a big difference between those who have no desire to change their circumstances and those who truly need help.

Let us summarize these thoughts on Asher: Asher’s position is in the feet where his foot is dipped in oil, or the anointing of the Holy Spirit. He is of a joyful nature in spite of present circumstances. Hope fills his breast knowing that a new day will dawn. Asher is always present at times of spiritual crisis and puts his shoulder to the wheel to do what he can. He sees the embryonic formation of God’s moving and rejoices therein and speaks with assurance to those who have ears to hear.

O Asher, blessed is your position in Israel and your nature in God! You shall be recognized in these momentous days and cherished for your unique pleasantness and faith.

CHAPTER ELEVEN

“DAN”

Dan was born the Fifth son of Jacob and the first son of Rachael’s maid, Bilhah. Rachel said in Gen. 30:6, “God has vindicated me: He has listened to my plea and given me a son. Because of this she named him Dan.”

Dan means ‘Judge’. Dan also means an umpire, to execute judgment, or to minister judgment. One of the names of God is Adonai. The name Adonai’ means Lord, Master or Ruler. So the purpose of Dan is to judge and to rule, therefore, I am going to focus my attention in teaching Dan to those who are to rule over the House of God.

Dan was called to be a judge. He was called to lordship, to rulership. If you have not gone through the sixth gate, Issachar, it disqualifies you to enter the seventh gate, Dan. Because, if you can be bought, you cannot be a judge. But, if you cannot be bought, then you can minister pureness of judgment.

Jesus said in John 7:24, “Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment.

Judgment is not negative. It is positive. There is a judgmental kind of criticism that will condemn you, but I am speaking of a ministry of no condemnation. The judgment that flows out of the old nature will condemn you. Judgment that flows from the new nature will not condemn you, it will not minister death, but it will minister reconciliation, life and righteousness.

Jesus said in Matt 7:1-2, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

The word for judge used in Matt. 7:1, is the word `KRINO’, which means to separate, to select, to choose, to determine, to conclude, to correct, to esteem, to decree, to sentence, to think, to approve, to have an opinion, to deem, to resolve, to pronounce an opinion concerning right and wrong, to pronounce judgment, to rule or govern, examine, investigate, discern, to decide, etc…

Simply stated, “If you make a judgment, you have made a decision.” It’s a cop-out to say, “We must not judge.” Discipline requires decisions and a following through. Unfortunately, the chaos that is in the home because there are no decisions made, has been carried into the church and many pastors are afraid to rock the boat. Sons of the Kingdom do not condemn or criticize others. Those who have such a critical spirit will reap what they sow.

There is a nature in us called Dan that is tempered by the nature of Issachar and cannot be bought. Because I cannot be bought, I don’t allow our friendship to cloud the decisions I must make concerning the welfare of this assembly. I don’t care what Moma thinks, here is my judgment. I don’t care what the consensus of opinion is, here is my judgment. I don’t even care what I think, here is my judgment.

My goal is always that my judgment is His judgment; righteous judgment. Am I always right? No! However, the judgments that I make come from a pure heart based on my understanding of what the Lord is saying. In the same way, your judgments should be made in this maner. If we differ the Lord will show each of us the truth of the matter.

In any given situation, Jesus would render the right decision. Then why have so many wrong decisions been made? We will see the key in just a few minutes, but most of the time we have not waited for His word to come.

While it is true that those who are unqualified are forever giving free advice, it is also true that judgment and justice is rendered by those the King has called, appointed, chosen and anointed. Those who are given the responsibility of judgment must judge themselves. These are proven ministries have gone through God’s trying process just as Abraham did and have been proven by Him.

This self examination is currently being experienced in the church as a Day of Atonement. This feast day is a day of humiliation when justice may be denied to us in order to prove us. We are all reluctant to judge ourselves, but this is the day in which we must consider the plank in our own eyes. This will qualify a ministry to render pure and righteous judgment in the earth.

What then, is the basis for that righteous judgment? Righteous judgment is the judgment of Jesus; His fairness and His decisions. Righteous judgment cannot be based on our experiences. You may say, “Well, It has been my experience—–” Our experiences are valid and may be helpful, but we must not limit God to deal with others the same way He has dealt with us. When you are making a righteous judgment concerning another person’s life, you must realize that they are a unique person and God will deal with them in their uniqueness. There are no two people alike, just as there are no two snowflakes alike. The principal of no two snowflakes being alike indicates to me that God’s judgments are unsearchable.

Usually, I can spot immediately, problems and scriptural solutions to those problems in a person’s life. But what if I am not sure? Then this Dan nature from within me will cause me to wait on the Lord and I will receive the word of wisdom for that situation. If you ask a seasoned ministry a question concerning your life, don’t be surprised if he tells you that he first must pray about it. Don’t be surprised if he tells you to come back at the same time tomorrow and he will give you the answer. Be careful of the man who has all the answers. Chances are, he hasn’t been through Dan. Chances are, he can be bought and is just trying to flatter you.

Have you ever made a wrong decision? Do you know why? Chances are you were hasty. Your good or bad experiences do not qualify you for the kind of judgment I am talking about. Experience is sense knowledge. The righteous judgment of Jesus goes beyond that, beyond what the eye can see into the realm of the spirit. God does not always deal with others the same way He has dealt with you. The Pharisee in you will always want God to deal with others the same way He deals with you. God’s judgments are unsearchable. Even as each snowflake is different, every situation you face is different.

If God’s judgments are unsearchable, then I must have some help to find them. This is why we must be in the Spirit to make righteous judgments. We have the mind of Christ and the only way to access it is to be in the Spirit.

Jesus said in John 16:13, “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”

And Paul said in 1 Cor 6:17, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”

If you needed to know something from the scriptures and you knew I was knowledgeable in that area, would you not come to me and ask, rather than not know? There is someone who is available to us who knows every answer. He has all the answers? The Holy Spirit is in us!!! If we will just wait on Him, Dan will come forth.

Paul said in I Cor. 2:9, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him, but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.”

God has revealed to us things that no eye has seen. Things beyond experience.

Paul said in 1 Cor 2:11-12, “For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.”

My problem is that I have said too many things that He didn’t say, and I have done too many things He never did. But I’m learning to let Dan come forth. When Dan comes forth with the righteous judgment, the answer will be there.

Paul said in 1 Cor 2:12-15, “We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught us by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to Him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments (decisions) about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment”

The key to this statement is, “The Spiritual man.” The natural man cannot be allowed to judge the Spiritual man. I must be in the Spirit to make Spiritual judgments. I cannot make Spiritual judgments (decisions) with my natural man (self-soul). In the Spirit I have the mind of Christ.

Jacob’s prophecy to Dan is recorded in Gen. 49:16, “Dan will provide justice for his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.”

Anyone in the five fold ministry must learn to dwell among the people of God and not above them.

Gen. 49:17 says, “Dan will be a serpent by the roadside, a viper along the path, that bites the horses heels so that its rider tumbles backward.”

Both Jesus and Satan were represented by the serpent.

1) In Matt. 10:16 Jesus said, “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves.”

The word serpent is the Greek word (OPHIS) and carries the idea of sharpness of vision, wisdom. Jesus told us to be wise like a serpent. Satan has not only defiled the serpent but he has also perverted wisdom. Dan was to be a serpent by the roadside.

Jesus said in John 3:14, “Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up.”

Not only was Jesus lifted up as the representative of sin but also as all wisdom. His wisdom in offering himself up as a sin offering far exceeded Satan’s wisdom in crucifying Him. Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah and Satan is as a roaring lion.

Gen. 49:18 says, “I wait for your salvation, O Lord.”

Do you know why I have made mistakes in the ministry? Because I did not wait on the Lord. Do you know why I have made mistakes in my personal life? Because I didn’t allow time for God to work all things out. The word `WAIT’ means to look for. Here are some scriptures concerning waiting on God.

Psalms 40:1 says, I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”

Isaiah 25:9 says, “And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Isaiah 26:7-9 says, “The path of the righteous is level, O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth. Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desires of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.”

Isaiah 33: 2-6 says, “O Lord, be gracious to us: we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. At the thunder of your voice, the peoples flee; when you rise up, the nations scatter. Your plunder, O nations, is harvested as by young locusts; like a swarm of locusts men pounce on it. The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness. He will be the sure foundation for your times, and rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.”

Isaiah 40:31 says, “They that wait upon the Lord.”

Psalms 25: 3-5 says, “No one who waits on you will ever be put to shame but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.”

Psalms 27:14 says, “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

Psalms 37:9 says, “For evil men will be cut off, but they that wait on the Lord will inherit the earth.”

Verse 34, “Wait for the Lord and keep His way. He will exalt you to possess the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.”

Dan was the tenth stone on the high priest’s breastplate and the stone is a Beryl stone. The word ‘Beryl’ means to break or subdue. God has called for the ministry in this hour to break and subdue and punish everything that is evil. Beryl is of the chrysolyte family. The word ‘chrysolyte’ comes from two Greek words: khroo-sol’-ee-thos; No. 5557. chrusos, khroo-sos’; perh. from the base of G5530 (through the idea of the utility of the metal); gold; by extens. a golden article, as an ornament or coin:–gold. 3037. lithos, lee’-thos; appar. a prim. word; a stone (lit. or fig.):–(mill-, stumbling-) stone.

The chrysolyte stone is what we know as the topaz. Topaz is a yellowish gold colored stone. Gold in the scriptures speaks of the divine nature. Song of Solomon 5:14 says, “His hands are as gold rings set with Beryl.”

This is the seventh foundation in the wall of the Holy City and seven is the number of perfection.

Paul said in Hebrews 6:1, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again these six foundations.”

Paul is saying that we are to move beyond these six principles and go on into perfection. Let’s don’t just dwell in these first six foundations but let’s press on into the deeper foundations of understand of God’s eternal purpose.

This is the seventh foundation and it is a gold stone, which deals with the divine nature. Or, to put it another way, Sonship. Sonship results when we begin to have a mature understanding of who we are and why God has chosen us. What, then, is Sonship? Sonship is nothing more or less than growing up in Christ in all things as a headship company. In other words, you have received the seed of Abraham, which is the Christ in you. And this seed is supposed to fill all of your earth. That seed is supposed to keep multiplying and increasing in you until completely absorbs every particle of your being. Until you, the new creation man, are absolutely one with the Lord Jesus Christ who lives in you. Sonship is going on into perfection or full maturity.

Dan’s name was also written on the seventh Gate of the Holy City. When you pass through the experience of Dan you will be qualified to go on into maturity because you have learned to make righteous judgments. We are entering the seventh day from Adam. In this seventh day the Church will experience the gate of Dan corporately. This will be the death of the Harlot Religious System.

Lamentations 4:1-2 (NIV) says, “How the gold has lost its luster, the fine gold become dull! The sacred gems are scattered at the head of every street. How the precious sons of Zion, once worth their weight in gold, are now considered as pots of clay, the work of a potter’s hands!

Can you see that God says that the precious sons of Zion are like fine gold? Gold is symbolic of the divine nature.

When you pass through the gate of Dan you will begin to manifest the divine glory by making righteous judgments.

Moses said in Deut. 33:22, “Dan is a lion’s cub, springing out of Bashan.”

Ministries that have gone through Dan are wise as serpents and bold as lions. When they spring, it is going to be at the enemy. When they claw and when they mangle and when they kill and destroy, it will be against the lack of knowledge in God’s people.

CHAPTER TWELVE

“LEVI”

Levi was the third son born to Jacob and is the name of the third gate of The Holy City. When we think of the word Levi, most of us immediately think of the priesthood and we are not too far off. The meaning of the word Levi means `Spiritual Ministry’. It is a ministry of and by the Holy Spirit in union with our spirit. The Third Dimension is the dimension of Power. The Kingdom of God can only be built in the Third Dimension!

The angel told Zecheriah in Zech 4:6: “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Three dimensions are spoken of here and the third dimension is where the power is. Not by might! First dimension. Personal ability. Not by power! Second dimension. Accumulation of force. You can’t do it yourself and you can’t do it by assembling a lot of people around you. But by My Spirit. Third Dimension! All God! is.

The actual meaning of the word Levi is union or attached. This speaks of two things being entwined or joined together. Adhesive. To adhere to. To cleave. For this cause shall a man leave his mother and father and cleave to his wife. This union that the word Levi speaks of is both vertical and horizontal. I am in union with God, by the Spirit, and in union with man, by the Spirit.

The purpose of this Gate of Levi is so I can have union with God. Paul said, “He who is joined with the Lord is one Spirit with him.”

God wants us to first of all be in union with Him, and then we can be in union with one another. We can minister unto Him and we can minister unto one another.

Paul said in Eph. 4:15-16, “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by ever supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

And in I Cor. 12:7, “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”

One of the biggest problems in the local church is that people don’t know one another by the Spirit. Most have not matured and their judgments are in the flesh.

In II Cor. 5:16 Paul says, “So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. (KJV – Henceforth know we no man after the flesh) Though we once knew Christ in this way, we do so no longer.”

If, when I mention Christ, all you can think about is the man who walked in Galilee, then you don’t understand this verse. Now, listen very carefully to what I am about to say: “You and I can not go through this third gate until we learn to discern one another after the Spirit and not after the flesh!”

Most Spirit-filled people have not gone any further than Simeon. Once you are filled with the Holy Ghost, you must move on into Spiritual ministry, because this is the whole purpose of being filled with the Holy Ghost. I am not talking about the pulpit ministry because very few are called by God to be in this ministry, but I am talking about everyone learning how to minister to one another effectively in the Spirit.

You can be a channel of supply through which the gifts of the Spirit flows. You should come into a church, not primarily to be ministered to, but to minister to others and to give of that Christ life that is within you.

Jacob said of both Simeon and Levi in Gen 49:5-7 (KJV): “Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honor, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they digged down a wall. Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.”

In order to understand this harsh prophecy against Simeon and Levi you must be familiar with what they did to anger their father. Gen chapter 34 tells of how a Hivite named Schechem took Dinah, Simeon and Levi’s sister, and made love to her. When I was in South Africa I learned that among the various tribes when a young man wanted a wife he would lay in wait along the path where the neighbors girls would pass by. He would then grab the girl that he wanted and have his way with her. If he did this her father would demand a diary be given to him for the price of his daughter.

As far as we know Schechem was honorable and wanted to marry Dinah so he asked her brothers for their permission. They told him that they would not only consent to this and allow other marriages to take place among the Israelites and Hivites, if the Hivite men would be circumcised. The Hivite men consented to this and on the third day after they were circumcised when the men were unable to fight, Simeon and Levi went to their city and slew all the men and took all they had. They took their riches, their cattle, their wives and their children.

Jacob was very angry with them and thus the prophecy. This is a great lesson for Simeonites and Levites. There is a tendency in these two tribes to transfer spiritual symbols to those to whom they don’t belong and then use the sword of the Word to slay these very ones.

To say this another way: Christians who have been born again and filled with the Spirit oft times have the tendency to want to bind the truths of God’s Word and moral character to those who are not in the family of God. What governs Christians in their conduct does not necessarily bind those who are not Christians.

Paul said in 1 Cor 6:12, “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”

Those who are of the Tribes of Semion and Levi must be careful or they will misuse the privilege of being a child of God and filled with His Spirit to condemn others instead of ministering life to them.

In Jacob’s prophecy four words, cruelty, anger, self-will and wrath stand out. Cruelty means not only maltreatment, damage and injustice but even wrong thoughts or imaginations. The outward manifestations of cruelty are only the expressions of the wrong imaginations within the heart.

The word ‘anger ‘ in the Hebrew means ‘nose’. As one becomes angry often his nostrils will dilate in ire. Spiritually speaking, the nose speaks of discernment of the truth. However, that discernment can very easily be turned into angry judgment.

The word ‘wrath’ comes from the root of a Hebrew word meaning the region beyond, on the opposite side, against, beyond, and is usually used for indicating the eastside of Jordan. This is the side opposite the promised side. It is the wilderness side.

Simeonites and Levites often find themselves on the wrong side of the fence on an issue and will defend their position with wraith and vengeance. The word ‘self-will’ means self-delight, self-desire, self-affections, self-approval and self-consent.

It is quite natural in Adam for the self to think that it can run its own life in the way it chooses regardless of who it hurts. Self-will can even be clothed in the false robes of strength of character, determination, ability, etc. All of Israel have trouble with this area and only in compliance with the Lord Jesus Christ can this be overcome.

I have pointed out these weaknesses in Simeon and Levi as a challenge in them to allow these things to be rooted out by His Spirit. The positive side of these things, or the West side of the Jordan, is to allow His love to flow through ones self which will cause these negative things to loose their hold and be driven out.

Simeonites and Levites are capable of some of the worse kind of actions but this same ability, if under the control of the Spirit, will cause them to be overflowing with the full extent of God’s love. If we consider the location of love or it’s opposite force, we are brought to the conclusion that this is determined in the heart of the individual. Love flows out of the heart and so does anger, bitterness, jealously, revenge and cruelty.

We have learned previously that Simeon and Levi are located in the breast of the figure of a man representing the Church. It is in this area of the human body that the vital organs of the heart and lungs dwell.

Proverbs 4:23 (KJV) says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Jesus said in Luke 6:45 (KJV), “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

Simeonites and Levites have a tremendous capacity hearing and speaking forth the truths of the Lord with much love and compassion. There is a condition, however, if this is to flow with this love and compassion. They must be under the control of the Holy Spirit.

CAUTION SIMEONITES AND LEVITES!

The breastplate of the High Priest with its enclosed Urim and Thimmim covers the chest or breast. This is the same place that Simeonites and Levites occupy. This breastplate contains the twelve stones with the names of the Twelve Tribes inscribed on them. Simeonites and Levites who are resting in Him have a deep seated compassion and love for the rest of the Tribes of Israel. They have deep discernment for the Body of Christ which transcends denominational barriers and even includes the those who have yet to confess that Jesus is Lord. They have a tremendous ability to hear and to minister God’s love to ALL PEOPLE!

In Deuteronomy 33:8-11, Moses said to the Lord, “Your Thummim and Urim belong to the man you favored. You tested him at Massah; you contended with him at the waters of Meribah. He said of his father and mother, I have no regard for them. He did not recognize his brothers or acknowledge his own children, but he watched over your word and guarded your covenant. He teaches your precepts to Jacob and your law to Israel. He offers incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar. Bless all his skills, O Lord, and be pleased with the work of his hands. Smite the loins of those who arise up against him; strike his foes till they rise no more.”

Levi’s name does not appear upon the breastplate of the High Priest because the High Priest comes out of his tribe. God favored Levi and Levi responded even to the point of putting the Lord above his own mother and father and above his brothers. Even his own children.

Levites who have passed through the Twelve Gates will put God first in their lives and watch over and teach and demonstrate to all people the truths of God’s words. The blessings of the Lord will be on all of the Tribe of Levi who put the Lord first.

During their wilderness journey the Tribe of Levi camped just outside the tabernacle on the North, the West, the South, and the East. Moses and Aaron and their families were encamped on the Eastern side of the Tabernacle.
