THE CHOICE TO BE WHO YOU ARE

THE GREATNESS OF YOUR BEING

What makes you so great, so significant in the hierarchies of being? What is it that makes the Angels wonder about you, trying to understand you and even at times simulate you?

It is your power to CHOOSE!!

Although to yourself you seem weak and unable, to the greater realms you are admired and loved for your excellence and your courage, both of which come as a result of your power of choice.

Let’s think about it another way. Ask yourself, what do I love most about the human experience? What would I be willing to die for? Immediately, for me, Mel Gibson comes to mind in his masterful acting of William Wallace in the movie Braveheart. Remember the last scene as he is bound and tortured and is given one last chance to use his voice? His torturers, thinking he is about to recant, are standing there eagerly anticipating their triumph over the human Spirit when, with a loud voice, he cries out:

“FREEEEEEEEDOMMMM!!”

What a moment! What an experience! Absolutely unforgettable! Why? Because that is what you and I are. We are lovers of freedom. Now ask yourself, what is the essential dynamic or operating part of Freedom? Obviously it is CHOICE.

Even Love, the greatest of all, and the essence of who God is and who you are, even the experience of love, as beautiful and marvelous as it is, is not desirable if it is demanded. If I am not free, if I do not feel as though I have the power to choose, I cannot truly respond to love.

THE GREAT QUEST: ORDER AND COHESION

At the same time another part of you is saying: “But we have to have ORDER. Things must be done decently and in order.” We cannot really let people be absolutely free because they will abuse their freedom. They will steal, they will lie, they will abuse and even kill each other if we do not create some control in our country.” Guess what? You are correct. In fact, that is what we have right now on this planet and especially here in the good old USA – the challenge of creating the greatest freedom with the least amount of control.

So you are torn between these seemingly conflicting desires: the passion for freedom and the desire for right treatment of every man, hence the need for control. Such noble passions! Such excellent desire! Every one who participates in the human experience is involved at some level in the drama of these seeming opposites. When you were a child, a wise parent slowly acquainted you with choice and responsibility. Choice was a very small circle indeed in a life structured by the parent. The wise parent also included in your early repertoire of experience a few “No No’s.” A pretty vase, (from K Mart), purposely placed within your reach and you were told not to touch, everything else was made “child proof.” Very soon the early years of childhood passed, and if your parents spent a few careful years weaning you from mindless, blind obedience, you probably survived the transfer to adulthood without total debilitation. Not without pain, but you survived reasonably intact.

On the other hand, if you as a parent spent the greater part of your efforts ensuring obedience and total submission of your children, driven by your own lack of that same obedience, and did not take time to help them develop a moral sense and responsibility of their own, when it came time for them to fly, they did. They demanded what they thought would be their freedom, the ability to choose for themselves, and they had to choose what was forbidden them in order to experience freedom in their frame of thought. Then you and I felt we had failed, failed as parents. Our children’s pain was so much harder to bear than any pain we had ever experienced before. We had to deal with guilt and shame all over again, we just knew, even if we knew we were forgiven, we had failed.

NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM

The whole world is in conflict and at war over this very issue, freedom, control and choice. What was the constitution of the United States all about? It was a search and a reach for order, order that would no longer control for the sake of control or by the whim of a single potentate or king, but order to ensure personal and collective Freedom; a divinely inspired experiment in human self-government. Balances and checks all put in place to ensure one single objective, our passionate love for freedom and self-expression. Why is the USA under such horrendous conflict today? Why are there terrorists vowing to destroy us? True, there are the multinational companies wreaking destruction of indigenous cultures and destroying the rain forest. True, our government has broken trust with its own people, lied to us, deceived and been deceived in international intrigue. But the real cause of the conflict in our world lies in the fact that there are a people on this planet who at the core of their being, in their very heart, know that they have come not only to be free themselves but to set every man, every race, and every culture free. Free to experience their own reality, their own validity, and their own truth. A people with a deep faith, a profound unshakable conviction that this is possible and can be realized in our time.

THE FIRST KISS

If you as a parent feel you have failed, or if you feel that we as a nation are failing or have already failed, then consider this: From whence came the thought that like a fuse ignited a whole sequence of events resulting in this present experience that we are speaking of? What was the desire that set in motion the potential and possibility for CHOICE? Like the choice between Nagasaki and Hiroshima on the one hand, causing death and the destruction of unparalleled proportion and on the other hand a nuclear power station to release man from the oppressive labor of meeting his energy needs? Why was choice ever desired and created in the first place? And what was the need or longing that stimulated it into created reality?

You know the answer in your own experience. It’s the same desire that made you seek your first kiss. The first time, as a teen when you dared to hold the hand of that boy or girl that you had been exchanging glances and words with for three months. I remember vividly the very first time that I ever kissed a girl. I had not watched it for years on TV as our children have. I really had never seen my parents passionately kiss. It took me years to really find how truly beautiful and tender and infinitely desiring a kiss can be. Where does all that come from? One of the most exquisite poems of all time begins: “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…” Who desired the first kiss? You already know who that was. That was our deepest most fundamental reality. That was the greatest knowing of the truth about who we are. That was Love itself. Before opposites, before duality, before fear and doubt, before the need for righteousness and justice, before all, in all, and over all, there is Love and this Love is what we call God, our source, our Father, the All, the only power, the ONE.

How can we, in our finite state, in our limited perceptions, adequately portray or understand our beginnings and the inception of the reality we now experience? It seems impossible. Yet there are certain thoughts being whispered in our hearts that are leading us inward into the truth. It is the thought that it was Love itself that desired an Object, an Other, other than itself, other than the ONE. Yet how could there ever be any other than the One? Whatever that one would be, it would have to be an illusion. This other one would have to have the power to choose. How can there be duality without CHOICE? That other one would have to have the choice to harmonize with the True ONE or oppose the True One and so become the FALSE One. The Father of all untruth. The Father of lies.

YOUR CHOICE: YOUR REALITY

If you, as a parent, condemn yourself for what you see as your failure, if you see the pain and the lost moments that could have been in your children’s lives, or perhaps you blame and condemn others for that pain because you cannot face the thought of blaming yourself, then you must ask yourself this question: “What about the Eternal Father and his Children? Is He as responsible for His as I am for mine? And if He is, how does He deal with it? If I pass judgment on myself, condemning myself, do I also with that same breath condemn Him? If The Eternal One desired, desired an experience of there being an Other, an experience of choice, and if I judge that experience to be a failure by condemning myself, what choice am I making thereby?”

However you choose to answer this question, and you must choose, even if your choice is to try and ignore or invalidate the question, you must choose, for choice is the fundamental ingredient of your physical experience, you are a part of the Drama. The great beautiful magnificent journey of separation whose conclusion is already decided in the nature and Being of the One, the Whole, for all things shall return through the great cycle of our dream, our illusion, back into the awareness of the One as we have always really been.

Finally, with great joy and power, with eternal thanksgiving and Love to our Father and Source we must proclaim to you, and you to all in your space, this wonderful releasing truth: You may always choose again, when the opportunity comes your way. And let me assure you, it will.

CHOOSING YOUR INCARNATION

For a choice to truly be a choice, there must be valid alternatives, and there cannot be any condemnation connected with any of the alternatives. Yet choices do have consequences and these must be understood. All this has to do with what we call maturity and responsibility. This is the hour that is upon mankind. The choice must be made to appropriate something that we have never truly made our own and that is our incarnate state. Even though we agreed, when all the morning stars sang together and all the Sons of God shouted for joy, to this journey of the valley of shadows, this separate experience culminating in these separate physical bodies. When we, yet clothed in Light Bodies, began to act out the great desire in all the heavenly realms and we headed towards physicality, we knew that on the other side of forgetfulness we would remember again, and again, we would choose, breaking all chains of victimization through lies and obligation. Only if in your awareness you can, for a moment, step out and beyond all chains of materiality, only then can you make the great empowering choice that will set all men free. You must choose, in total, completely, without reservation, your own material consciousness and all the experiences that have come with it, you must choose who you are in every realm that you walk in.

THE CHOICE TO BE WHO YOU ARE

“I came. I laid down my life for you that you might know that even your seeming powerlessness, your crucifixion in and on your human experience, was not without power. For it was your choice to so be, even as I showed you that it was mine. In this knowing, we are one. We are the same. We cannot be separate or apart. In this knowing, I hold you. I carry you as I carried Peter until you no longer deny, not me, but yourself, and you make the choice you came here to make. The choice for which this body was formed. The choice that sets creation free. The choice to be who you are.”
