THE CROSS OF CHRIST

WHO TOOK AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD?

WHEN DID HE TAKE IT AWAY?

WHEN WAS THE REMOVAL OF SIN FROM THE WORLD MANIFESTED?

WHO CONFESSES? SAINT OR SINNER?

THREE MEN ON CROSSES.  LIFE ETERNAL WAS FOUND IN THE CENTER.

WHO TOOK AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD?

John 1:29 “The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

Isaiah 53:12 “Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

WHEN DID HE TAKE IT AWAY?

Revelation 13:8 [Young’s Literal] “And bow before it shall all who are dwelling upon the land, whose names have not been written in the scroll of the life of the Lamb slain from the foundation.”

WHEN WAS THE REMOVAL OF SIN FROM THE WORLD MANIFESTED?

Romans 16:25-26 [NAS] Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;”

2 Cor. 5:21    “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin …”

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

WHO CONFESSES? SAINT OR SINNER?

v     Confesses what? That they are a sinner or what?

v     Believe what? What they confessed? What did they confess?

Amplified Bible Romans 10:9 “Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved.”

v     Where does this idea come from?

Amplified Bible 1 John 1:9 “If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises] and will forgive our sins dismiss our lawlessness and continuously cleanses us from all unrighteousness – everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought and action.”

Rom. 6:18 “and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.”

Rom. 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

2 Cor. 5:21 “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become   the righteousness of God in Him.”

Pleroma Greek word for fullness.  Gnostics used this word for fullness. Therefore Paul used their own word to clarify who God was. Gnostics believed that God created the universe out of nothing except Himself. Therefore, He who is holy could not create evil. Consequently, God limited Himself in creation to allow this separate power.

Phil 4:19  supply – completely,  Eph. 1:23 fill – completely 3:19 filled up completely.

Col 1:19,   2:9-10  4:17

Wuest Translation Colossians 1:9 reads:  “that you might be filled with the advanced and perfect experiential knowledge of His will in the sphere of every kind of wisdom and intelligence which is spiritual…”

Wuest Translation Colossians 1:19 reads: “… was well pleased that all the fullness be permanently at home…”

Wuest Translation Colossians 2:9-10 reads: “..because in Him there is continuously and permanently at home all the fullness of absolute deity in bodily fashion. And you are in Him, having been completely filled full with the present result that you are in a state of fullness in Him…”
