Luke 22:24-30 24] And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. 25] And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. 26] But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. 27] For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. 28] Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. 29] And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; 30] That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.  (KJV)

POWER. Something that we all want more of but something that we all know so little about. The scriptures are full of references to the word “power” and in this writing we will attempt to study the Greek words used for power in the New Testament, endeavoring to not only learn what true power is, but how to manifest it in our lives.

The scripture mainly uses two Greek words to express the meaning of power. They are, Dunamis, #1411 in the Strong’s Concordance, and Exousia, #1849 in the Strong’s Concordance. Most people are more familiar with the first word, Dunamis, through various writings and teachings on the subject of God’s power. Dunamis is defined in Strong’s as:

1411 dunamis (doo’-nam-is); from 1410; force (literally or figuratively); specially, miraculous power (usually by implication, a miracle itself): KJV – ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work. 1410 dunamai (doo’-nam-ahee); of uncertain affinity; to be able or possible: KJV be able, can (do, + -not), could, may, might, be possible, be of power.

As you can see, the word Dunamis implies power as a force of miraculous power, and comes from the root word, Dunamai, which means to be able or possible. Dunamis deals with the ability, or potential, to do miraculous things. Jesus was raised from the dead by Dunamis. 1 Cor. 6:14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power (dunamis).” Jesus comes to us in dunamis.

Mark 13:24-26 24] But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power (dunamis) and glory.

For our rapture friends, do not think this is saying that He is coming in a rapture. Read down a little ways and Jesus proclaims that that generation would not pass until all of this was fulfilled. The stars that fall and the powers (dunamis) that are shook in the heavens are speaking of principalities and invisible forces that will be shook and defeated when Christ comes in His saints. We will cover a little more of that later on.

As you can see, dunamis is used when raw miraculous force is meant. The second Greek word used for power is Exousia, and it is the most important one for us. Why, you may ask? Because it is the missing power of the body of Christ today. Look around you and you will see a powerless people. I’m not talking muscles here, I’m talking authority, Exousia. Dunamis is strength, ability, might. Exousia is authority, freedom of action, right to act.

The scripture says that there is only one source of dunamis. Rom. 13:1 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” There is only one true dunamis, all other powers are controlled by God’s dunamis. If there is any other miraculous force, or ability, it is an invested power that has been given by the dunamis of God. Do not think that God has been thrown from His throne simply because there are other powers at work in the world. The key phrase in this study of power is the phrase “power with God”, not just simply the “power of God”. We have resident within us all the dunamis of God that can ever be available. He dwells fully within us right now. It is impossible to get anymore of God in us than is in us at this precise moment. Every one of us are containers of the fullness of God and His dunamis.

Exousia is the key to tapping into the reservoir of God’s power in us. Exousia is dunamis expressed through an authority given to us by God. The early church was given authority to operate the dunamis of God. It was an age of miracles and signs and wonders. The early church was filled with an ability to raise the dead, heal the sick, cast out devils, etc. Still, this early church was limited when it came to operating the exousia of God, the authority and the right to act as God in the earth. Notice the following scripture.

Acts 1:1-8 1] The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3] To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: 4] And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6] When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7] And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power (exousia). 8] But ye shall receive power (dunamis), after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

It was given to them to act through the dunamis of God, but not to act as God would act through exousia. The dunamis power of the early church was an “earnest”, or a portion, of God’s dunamis. It was not given to them to know the “times” and the “seasons” which the Father had locked up into His exousia. This is the crux of the problem that we face today. We want power, but it seems that everyone has their attention on the miraculous power that has been displayed in the charismatic movement. You should be aware that there is another form of power that is coming to us and it is not a force of ability and might, but it is a power that invests us with authority and the right to act as God would act in the earth! It is His dunamis unleashed by an authority that heaven and earth obeys! O halelujah!! We are being faced with things in this day that can not be defeated by brute strength. It is not even a matter of strength, since we know that God is able to defeat our every foe. The crucial element here is not whether God is able, but will He deliver this enemy into our hands?

In the Old Testament David was told by God not to number Israel. Instead, he sought the Lord and if the Lord said He had delivered the enemy into David’s hand then David went up against the enemy. If the Lord said don’t go up, they waited for the authority of God to be given to them. We who are faced with so many things this day must know what the Lord says about this circumstance. We must know that we are chosen administrators of His power and that we have been destined to carry out the acts of God. Jesus had dunamis, but He also had exousia. Dunamis delivered Him from death, exousia gave Him authority over it for eternity, and allowed Jesus to give this dunamis to others that believed on His name.

In Luke the 10th chapter Jesus appointed seventy people to go in two’s and to do the same works Jesus was doing in every city and place. They went and healed the sick and did miracles in His name.

Luke 10:16-20 16] He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. 17] And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18] And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19] Behold, I give unto you power (exousia) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power (dunamis) of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20] Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

The seventy disciples came back with a great joy over the fact that not only were they healing the sick, but the very devils themselves were subject unto them. They are told that they have been given the “right to act” against all the “force, might, and ability” of the enemy, but they are not to rejoice in this, but rather that they have their names written in heaven. There is a key to the kingdom that Jesus wants to hand over to us. It is certain that such power displayed by the seventy disciples was the best thing that had happened as yet, since Jesus says that He saw Satan fall from heaven as lightning. However, I don’t believe it was because of the miracles themselves, but because He had proven that God had given Him exousia, the power to empower others with the same authority He had. What I believe that Jesus was warning them over was the thinking that what they were doing is enough. It is not! I thank the Lord for every miracle he has ever performed, and I have been the recipient of several personally, but I still see the need for a much more far reaching power than the healing of the sick, or even the raising of the dead.

I believe that there are a company of people in our midst, right this very hour, that are clothing themselves with an exousia that will cause the very foundations of hell itself to shake and crumble! Believe me dear ones when I say that there is an authority that is empowering us that will do more than just heal the natural body, but the death process itself will be halted and death will be no more. I am not able to rejoice today as some do, content to receive an earnest of the full redemption that God has promised to us. At this hour, I pray with a fervency for those that are sick and afflicted. My soul is compressed in agony over their pain and the possibility of any further pain and perhaps a crossing over to the other side. But I do believe that I will not always pray as I do now. The day is nigh to us when this process of clothing ourselves in the authority of Jesus Christ will be matured and fulfilled and then we will not pray to the Lord, but we will speak as He would speak, with EXOUSIA!! Dunamis is waiting to be released by a people who have been commissioned with an order from the supreme commander of our faith. The chain of command is being set up and we are being given an insignia of His nature. It is this “mark” that Paul said he carried in his body, the dying of the Lord Jesus Christ. We will carry the “mark” of His resurrection!

Rev. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power (exousia), but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. (KJV)

This insignia, or uniform, of resurrection will be recognized by every other dunamis and exousia. Make no mistake about it, there are powers that exist that are evil and work the works of destruction and mayhem. The problem at hand is that we are seeing too many ministers of the New Covenant get themselves entangled with these displays of evil dunamis. I am specifically speaking of the practice of casting out of evil spirits. That realm is certainly there if you want to get involved with it. However, I don’t believe those that toy with that realm understand the true dunamis that operates behind the scenes. The enemy is like a snake that wants it’s enemy to attack it’s tail and not it’s head. If you ever get hold of the real thing, you better know that you have exousia when dealing with it. We have had experiences in our past ministry where we saw the puking up and the slobbering and the show that is put on in the church that everyone thinks is deliverance, but we have also had personal experiences where we saw the head of the enemy and it is not something that you would like to see every day.

One young man came to our house many years ago and told us that he was sent to us to kill us. He wanted to be prayed for to be delivered from demons. We did pray for him and he literally threw us and a few other ministries from one side of the room to the other for several hours. During this time his physical features changed into a grotesque mask of evil, he spoke in one of the most eloquent tongues that I had ever heard, operated in word of knowledge, foretold the future, and laughed at our efforts to deliver him. As far as I know, the boy never did get delivered. This was the real thing, and we realized that we were powerless over it. In my opinion, the majority of the demonic demonstrations in the church is not true demonic dunamis, but a combination of psychic powers and other powers that we need to be taught more about, which we will perhaps cover in future parts of this subject. The point I want to make is that we are still operating out of a pentecostal view of what deliverance and escape from bondage is. I don’t care how many times you spit up, if the dunamis of the enemy is not overcome by a clothing of God’s exousia upon you, there will be a returning to bondage. There is a deliverance in our midst, but it won’t be done in a deliverance service, it will be done in heaven.

Eph. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers (exousia), against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (KJV)

The enemy not only has dunamis, the ability to do evil, but he also has exousia, the right to do evil.

Eph. 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world (age), according to the prince of the power (exousia) of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (KJV)

The Greek word for prince in this verse means “first in rank”.

John 19:10-11 10] Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power (exousia) to crucify thee, and have power (exousia) to release thee? 11] Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power (exousia) at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

It is not a matter of strength, good against evil, but one of exousia, authority and permission. It is not a matter of whether or not you have enough faith to gain life, it is a matter of permission being granted.

Rev 22:12-14 12] And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right (exousia) to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

I know that we are products of a society and age that wants quick, simple answers to all of our problems. The truth of the matter is that the answer to our problems can be much more complicated than we have been led to believe by the present church system. “Just believe God!” the preachers of this age proclaim. “No one has to be sick, we are healed by His stripes” is the standard confession. What to do when this doesn’t work for you? Some of us have quoted scripture until we turn blue in the face, we have followed all of the formulas and rituals of deliverance, and we are not changed. Could it be that we need to hear God and wait on the answer? Could it be that life is not so simple that some would make it sound? All we have viewed is things black and white, but I do believe that there are some gray areas that need to be defined and expressed.

The Apostle Paul was caught up to the third heavens and heard and saw things that were not legal for him to relate to others. Indeed, there was given to him a thorn in his flesh, a messenger of satan to buffet him. That thorn had exousia over Paul, since he prayed for it to be removed 3 times and it was not. Paul claimed it was sent to keep him from getting too exalted in revelation. The important thing is that Paul certainly had enough dunamis to deliver himself from this thorn, but exousia won out. We will begin today to end our flailing against the air, and we will begin to walk in authority and empowerment. I am confident that God will give us wisdom in the matters of this age of all ages, and we will operate as priests of God, binding things in heaven, and seeing them bound in earth, freeing things in heaven and seeing them freed in earth.

My heart goes out to the many alcoholics and drug addicts in our midst today. Yes, I said in our midst. The fact of the matter is, with all of our revelation, the people of this word are still dealing with the same problems that the rest of the world is dealing with. Sexual promiscuity, lying, cheating, wife beating, child molestation, homosexuality, all of these things are in our midst. Are we going to keep them swept under the rug? Maybe we should start holding deliverance services in all our churches and deliver the saints of God from all these demons. Who shall we start with first? The pastor and his wife? How about the song leaders? The fact is, you could line every one of us up and pray for us until we felt delivered, but the hard truth is that we would more than likely go back and pick those things up again. Dunamis cannot do it by itself. We must teach the people to operate in exousia. How many alcoholics do you know that seem to be completely delivered one day and the next day they are under bondage again? How many people do you know that are addicted to cocaine that get delivered for a little while and then pick it back up? The sad part is that they don’t want anyone else to know about it because they don’t want to disappoint anyone. The church told them it was a one step deal. You get delivered one night and that’s it. For some, that is true, but for the vast majority a step is missing.

When a person becomes truly addicted to something, no matter what that something is, they have done more than just turned their body over to it. Addiction is more than physical, it is mental and spiritual. I have seen God operate through dunamis for someone, say an alcoholic, and I have seen Him remove all the alcohol from their body in an instant. One minute they were drunk, the next they were completely sober. I have seen God physically cleanse their body of all desire for that drink and I have even seen Him change their mind and give them a new mind. Still, I have seen the vicious cycle repeat itself. No one knows the frustration and the agony of being addicted, or living with someone addicted, unless they have gone through it. Your faith wavers and you honestly wonder if they will ever get delivered. Remember, I am making the same distinction here as I was with the evil spirits earlier. I believe that some people just like to mess with alcohol and drugs and aren’t delivered because they don’t want to be delivered. But there are true addicts that have reached the end of the line, and they cannot find the power to stay delivered.

It is important for us to understand the relationship between the heavens and the earth. The heaven rules the earth. What is done in heaven is reflected in earth. Whatever I have bowed my knee to in my heavenly self, I remain bowed to it in my earthly self. The true deliverance is not in the body, but in the spirit. There is still a bent knee, an acknowledgment that something has dunamis over us. If we try to fight dunamis with dunamis, it will remain at an impasse. We must walk in exousia, the authority that makes everything else illegal and inferior. We must let our prisoners know that you don’t escape this prison house by tearing the prison house down, because we always return and build it up again. In fact, the work doesn’t involve the thing we are addicted to at all. We cannot make the addiction for alcohol smaller, we must become larger than it is. You cannot beat alcohol, you must focus on you, not on it. It is not your problem. If it wasn’t that particular thing, it would be something else. You are without power in your life. You must become EMPOWERED by the exousia that God has granted to you. There is an alcoholic in your house and you must find him and grab him up and EMPOWER him. You have darkness inside of you, but quit trying to grapple with the darkness to cast it out, and begin to call forth the light that is in you. Light has exousia over darkness. It is a law of the spirit of life. Wherever light springs up, darkness flees. Period. End of story. No mas. Hasta la vista baby. It’s outa here! The key is to lift the Lord up high, and let Him show us how to not only cleanse our body, but rearrange our heavens also.

This day is as much of a mental battle as a physical one. Charlotte quoted this poem in our service last Sunday.

“If you think you are beaten, you are;

If you think you dare not, you don’t;

If you’d like to win, but you think you can’t,

It’s almost a cinch you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost,

For out in the world you find

Success begins with a fellow’s will

It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you’re out-classed, you are;

You’ve got to think high to rise;

You’ve got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win the prize.

Full many a race is lost

Ere ever a step is run;

And many a coward fails

Ere ever his work’s begun.

Think big and your deeds will grow;

Think small and you’ll fall behind;

Think that you can and you will

It’s all in the state of mind.

Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger or faster man;

But sooner or later the man who wins

Is the fellow who thinks he can.”

Knowledge is power. The more you know about something, the more power you have over it. The enemy prospers under falsehood and superstitions. Truth strips off the disguise and reveals the masquerade at hand. I am not saying that evil does not have true power, because it does. I am saying, however, that for those of us that are ready to believe God to lead us into new and livings ways of life, we must recognize our own destiny. If the early church only received a down payment of power, then we must know that we are being prepared to know the times and seasons of His kingdom. We must know what God has given us exousia, the right to act, over and what the Lord has told us to leave alone. This is and will be the hardest test for us. As I said earlier, this is a very complicated realm. It is not so complicated when you only deal with healing the sick and the gifts of the spirit, but when you deal with the matters of good and evil, life and death, powers and principalities, thrones and rulers, kingdoms and dominions, times and seasons, dunamis and exousia, things get very complex and can overlap into confusing no man lands. It is in this realm that death is sometimes life and life can become death. Dunamis is dunamis no matter who is operating it. As we venture forth into this multi-leveled landscape in the days to come, let us understand that this is where God operates at. His throne of dominion and dunamis stands in the center of it all. As Colossians so eloquently states:

Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers (exousia): all things were created by him, and for him: (KJV)

Never, never, lose sight of the fact that these things were created not only by God, but FOR Him. God has something to prove. He alone has true dunamis. He establishes thrones and He pulls them down. He appoints rulers and He ends their rule. He alone has life, and He alone has the power to give life, or to take it.

Luke 12:4-5 4] And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5] But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power (exousia) to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

I also say unto you my friends, fear not those powers that can only bring your body under bondage, for your soul is the Lord’s. What else can they do, but take our body? Yet, we live on!

John 10:17-18 17] Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18] No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power (exousia) to lay it down, and I have power (exousia) to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. (KJV)

We don’t have the dunamis in ourselves to lay our life down, but God has given us the exousia to lay it down, and the exousia to take it again. Behold, I am he that was dead, and now I live forevermore! Not by might, not by power (dunamis), but by God’s spirit. No man is taking this life. No religious practice, or doctrine or creed can make me lay my life down, only by the saving grace of our Lord can we have the “right” to lay it down.

God has given to us His exousia to live eternally. Nothing in this world, no principality or power or angel or devil can separate us from the love of our God. We are laying our lives down willingly. Our knee is bent only to our one and true potentate, the Lord Jesus Christ. He has empowered us, given us His vesture dipped in blood. His banner flies over us, we wear His life as a robe of honor, He has placed a crown of life on our head. Somewhere in us, beneath this dusty exterior, there is a sceptre, a rod of iron that will break the nations, both visible and invisible. We simply MUST put on incorruption. Nothing can stop us. Not even ourselves. We have no power to stop the plan of God from being fulfilled. No force on earth or in heaven can stand against His divine will and purpose for creation. When God is ready for a people to die entirely to self and to live in Him, we will have no recourse but to live! His determination is unquenchable, His will undeterrable. It is God that is working in us. Phil. 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure”. We are empowered by the authority that was so magnificently displayed in that first Son.

Col. 2:13-15 13] And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14] Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15] And having spoiled principalities and powers (exousia), he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Jesus knew His hour had come. He defied death and the grave and all of the ordinances that held His brethren in chains, and made an open display of their inferior authority when measured against His right to be Savior of all men. May we also realize our hour is come.

Eph 6:10-18 10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (KJV)

In this, the second part of our study on “Empowerment”, we want to try to shine a light on some of the shadowy areas of our concepts of power. What is power? Who has it? How can I get more of it? Our hope and prayer is that we will all be able to gain an authority in our life that will free us from the ghosts of our past and give us a clear vision of the world of powers and dominions that are operating in us and around us.

That they are operating even now in our world is something that most people have never been able to bring themselves to believe. The present church system has mostly preached of two powers, God and the devil. If you were under bondage to something, it was either God’s power or the devil’s power. As we studied last month, there are two main Greek words used for the word “power” in the King James version of the bible. They are, “dunamis” and “exousia”. Dunamis means “miraculous force; might; ability” and exousia means “authority; privilege, i.e., (subjectively) force, capacity, competency, freedom, or (objectively) mastery (concretely, magistrate, superhuman, potentate, token of control), delegated influence”. Simply put, dunamis is the ability to do something; exousia is the right to do something. What is so important for us to grasp is that ability does not always win out in the realm of powers and dominions. The privilege, the freedom, the authority, the delegated influence to do something always wins out over dunamis.

The question for us to ponder then, is what rights do we have in God purchased for us through the Lord Jesus Christ? Let me warn you, some of these rights may surprise and shock you. They are not just the rights that allow you to live, but you also have the right to die. In deed, you have a commandment to die. But the commandment is not enough. Given a commandment we will keep dodging death through an instinct to live. I have related this story a number of times while preaching. God showed me in a vision how I was thwarting His process of death in me and making it a painful and laboring ordeal. I saw the sword of God positioning itself over my heart and I heard God quote this verse to me.

(KJV)

Notice that the Greek word for power in this verse is the word, “exousia”. Life is not taken from us, it is offered by us. God has not only commanded this of us, but He has given us the right, privilege, authority, competency, freedom to do this. When God spoke this verse to me in the vision, I steeled myself for the sword to pierce my heart and end my life. However, a terrible thing was happening to me! Every time the sword would start it’s thrust, I would anticipate it and jerk to the side away from it, causing it to wound me instead of killing me. This happened over and over again.

I will now humble myself to you, my dear readers, and confess that I am a true coward when it comes to pain. A trip to the dentist turns me into a sniveling baby. The very thought of a needle being jabbed into my mouth, or a drill whirring away at my poor teeth makes me queasy and light headed. Recently, while getting my teeth worked on, my body did things in that dentists chair that was entirely humiliating, and involuntary on my part. I squirmed all over that chair like a worm on a hot skillet. It got so bad, the dentist had his wife come into the room and hold my hand. She ended up holding me by my shoulders just to keep me off the floor. The dear dentist, noticing my discomfort, asked me to just signal him when I was in pain. This resulted in a pitiful display of desperate actions by me to stop the pain as soon as possible. A typical signal when I started feeling the slightest pain was both feet flying straight up in the air accompanied with a wild flailing of my arms followed by a high, almost girlish squeal coming from my throat that had a sickening pleading tone to it. It shames me, but I take comfort in the knowledge that many of you are even now rubbing your mouth while reading this and getting sweaty hands over the thought of your next visit to the dentist.

We all flinch in some area of our life. This comes from believing those preachers who tell you, “God is wanting to bless you and give you your hearts desire”. What they didn’t tell you, is that before He does that, He is going to kill you. God must kill us. We have an appointment to die, just like our next dentists appointment. His sword of truth is poised over our heart and He wants to bring to an end our limited, suffering life, so that we can have true life, His life. Glory to God! Do you see the complexity involved here? We want to live. God wants us to live. However, the life that we identify with, this life in the flesh is in the eyes of God a walk through the valley of the shadow of death. To God, we are already dead. So, in order for us to live, we must die to our dead life. Whew! I told you this was going to be complicated. Let us look at this closer.

We are born dead. We were alive in God before we took on flesh. When we did take on flesh through our conception and birth, we were actually buried in sinful flesh. Our birth, that we call life, was in actuality, a burial into death. We existed in a death-life. Later, when Christ Jesus awakened in us a consciousness of His salvation and we entered into a relationship with Him, we became part dead, and part alive. By this I mean that before our re-acquaintance with God, we walked solely under the influence of our deadness. When we confessed Him by faith to be our Savior and King we started walking under the influence of His liveliness, being mixed, however, with our deadness. In this complex state of being that we find ourselves in, coming alive does not mean we are no longer dead.

This is the most dangerous stage of our passing from death unto life, and is found in the segment of society that calls themselves “religious”. The majority of Christianity today exists in this half-dead, half-alive state. They are the living-dead. Sounds like a horror movie doesn’t it? It is. The living-dead ar3e the most dangerous people on this planet. They have a mixture of life and death, having come alive but still living primarily under the dunamis of their dead nature. The living-dead are those that crucified the Lord Jesus. The dead (un-regenerated sinners) didn’t bother Jesus. He ate with them, healed them, and was at ease with them. He did, however, spend most of His ministry being persecuted by the living-dead (the Pharisees and Sadducees).

What the church calls “saved” and “born again” is put forth as meaning the same thing, that is, by our confession of faith that we are both saved and born again. This is not true. Neither term is an accomplished term. We are both being saved and being born again, or, as the Greek says, being born from those things above. This lack of understanding of this complex situation is why the church is living powerless! Power is enriched by knowledge and understanding. This is why that verse that I listed above is so important. Why didn’t Jesus just have power (exousia) to take His life back again? Why did He need the authority to lay it down? Because that is where the real effort is needed. One doesn’t take place completely without the other. Something must be laid down before it can be taken up again. For every door that is opened to us, there must be the shutting of a door behind us. Otherwise, we just have a bunch of doors opened but no entrance made for us. We need an entrance into this great day of God! Oh hear me sweet ones, revelation just opens a door, but the walking out of that revelation means that we close out the old and walk into the new. So many are latching onto this “new and living way” but are failing to close out the former glory. As a result, we have a lot of mixture in this word and it will get worse as we go along. Me nust become EMPOWERED, clothed upon by a clothing of authority. We cannot become empowered without a process of becoming naked first. A stripping of old grave clothes precedes the clothing of priesthood garments. It is not enough to deny death, denounce death, rail against death and so on. We must DIE to death. That is what brings it under our feet, the posture of having true exousia over something. Certain things dictate by their language the order of the events involved. You can’t have resurrection without having a burial, you can’t have life without having a death, you can’t start something unless you finish something. If we leave one part of this equation out, the result is an awful mutation of mixed life. That kind of life spawns like kinds of life. Mixture begets mixture.

I want to restate this thought. We must die to death. We must quit thinking as dead people think. Quit thinking dead, quit acting dead, quit living dead. You are alive in God! He has become your life. Any other kind of life is death. There is only one true life, and that is in the Father. We are being empowered with His life, and we are taking authority over our death process. Get your minds off what you see with your eyes. Your body is not the battleground, your inner being is where the battle lies. We will lose this mortal body one way or another. It must be swallowed up, either through the grave or through a death to death while on this side of the river. Jesus saved us through death, not just His life.

Heb 2:14-15 14] Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power (kratos) of death, that is, the devil; 15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (KJV)

Notice that the Greek word for power in this verse is “Kratos”. Strong’s lists the definition for this word as “vigor”. The American Heritage Dictionary gives this definition of the word “vigor”.

Physical or mental strength; energy or force; Strong feeling; Enthusiasm or intensity; Legal effectiveness or validity;

From the Latin word, vigere, meaning “to be lively”.

Synonyms: Vigor; Dash; Punch; Verve; Vim; Vitality.

The central meaning shared by these nouns is “a quality of spirited force or energy.”

As you can read, Jesus delivers them who are subject to bondage all of their lifetime because of a fear of death by going “through” death and as a result He destroys the one that has the “vigor” or legal effectiveness and validity of death.

Power in life means we have power over death. We have power (exousia) to lay our life down, we have power (exousia) to take it back again. This certainly is not a normal Christian walk, but if you want to be in the company of sons that will walk this earth in the image and likeness of their Father, then you will begin to understand how much we have wearied ourselves fighting against the wrong things. Let us take care, lest we find ourselves fighting against God and not the devil. We all want life, but are we ready to get rid of death? Help us O God!

I received much mail over the last few articles and I enjoy reading the many letters that are so graciously sent to us. One letter of note that I received this month was from Fran Heitz who resides in Renton, WA.. She writes: “The current issue on “Empowerment” is so very helpful for some of us who have been feeling that the glory has faded and we are weak and powerless. Meanwhile, the so-called “Toronto blessing” seems to be everywhere bringing joy and mirth to others. Yet some of us no longer desire “rain” such as this which comes of Pentecost, but we long for the Holy Fire to hasten its work of consuming the dross and igniting us with Kingdom strength. I feel “Empowerment” will cause me to pick up my thoughts out of the dust, where they have been for awhile in paralysis, and begin to think and speak what is the real truth concerning this vessel named Fran. (The enclosed poem came bubbling forth after reading “Empowerment”)

Somewhere in us, beneath the dust,

A hidden sceptre lies,

And all the power of its strength

Must yet in God arise.

Let heavens shake and earth be still,

Though night full-cycle runs,

The Daystar comes, and all fulfills

In those forenamed as sons.

Awake, O Strength! Behold, He lives

Whose rulership anoints;

And when He speaks, authority

Shines forth like lightning-points,

And shadows shrink away in shame,

And healing bathes all things,

And deep in us, hid now in dust,

His sceptre makes us kings.

I truly sense a new heart beat in God’s people. We are no longer threatening God and telling Him to bless us, or else. There is a unifying cry sounding forth from the Body of the Lord. Change us!! At any cost, in any way, give us life today! Nothing else matters. All is lost without His life. We are sick to our stomachs at a false, religious, masquerade that the church is displaying to the world. We want power, exousia, the freedom and the right to pursue God and to be led by Him into the narrow, hard to find, path of life. Shake yourself, free yourself, quit the game and grab the prize of the high calling. We may look like something the cat drug in right now, but our aim and purpose is to die to death and live unto life. Before we gain His life, we lose our death-life. If we lose it, we gain it, but if we try to save it we lose not only that death-life we have now, but we delay our gaining of the life to come.

I pray that the Lord will give you true exousia, authority and power through the invested power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Darkness of night take notice, forces of evil take heed. There is a new thing happening in the hearts of this people. We will walk through the valley of the shadow of darkness, and we will fear no evil. He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. All things are in our hands! Within us reigns a King that will not be denied, and we are His hands and His feet in the earth. Rise up O Mighty Men of Valor and take the land!

(KJV)

In our previous articles on the subject of Empowerment we have endeavored to stress the difference between the two main Greek words used in the scriptures for “power”, Dunamis and Exousia. Dunamis is defined as raw power or force. Exousia is defined as invested authority or the right to act. This study is dealing mainly with the Greek word exousia, since our articles are not only about power but how we are to be empowered by the Lord Jesus to call upon the dunamis of God with delegated exousia.

We have stated in our study that there is only one true, supreme power and that is the power of God. Rom. 13:1. All other powers were created by Him and for Him. There are many, many delegated powers. Just as in earth we see many levels of authority and rule, so it is in heaven.

Col 1:16-17 16] For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers (exousia): all things were created by him, and for him: 17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (KJV)

As this verse so wonderfully states it, the structure of the powers and authorities in both heaven and earth is diverse and complex and each has been set in their place by God Almighty. He alone has given them their place in the heavens and earth, both good and evil, dark and light, death and life. All have been created by and for God and indeed, they still consist and have their dominion by His divine will and purpose.

God uses everything for His purpose. There is nothing that stands by it’s own design. All things are subject to the ultimate authority of the universe. God alone crowns dominions with invested authority and God alone strips them of that authority. They rise and fall at His command and nothing will deny Him of His will to be done. He is the potter and all else is clay. There would be no death if God did not create it and give it power. Neither would there be evil, or darkness, or an evil one if God did not specifically design it and clothe it with an invested authority.

Having said this, let me say that all power that is invested power is limited and subject to God’s will and, in the ages to come, will be brought under His government and will do homage to His dominion. This final, conquering act is stated in the scriptures as “the times of restitution of all things”.

Acts 3:19-21 19] Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20] And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21] Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. (KJV)

For those of us that have heard the word of reconciliation we have become familiar with the concept that all men will be saved.

1 Tim 2:3-6 3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6] Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (KJV)

There is a further step to be acknowledged in this redemption, one that is seldom mentioned because of the wailing and gnashing of teeth that arises from those that cannot bear the thought. This thought is that God will not only limit Himself to the power to save all men, but He will ultimately redeem all things. Let me try to explain my position on this. To reconcile something means to make up the lack of the object to be reconciled. We do this all the time in our check books. If our balance in our check book does not match the balance of our bank statement then we must either add or subtract from the checkbook to match the bank statement. The most important part of this analogy is that it doesn’t matter how far off I am in my own summation of my worth, my actual worth is what my bank shows.

In this light, it doesn’t matter what we think of ourselves in our worthiness of God’s grace and salvation, His statement of reconciliation is final and true. Our thinking must be changed to match His thinking. He thinks we are perfect. He thinks we deserve the gift of His Son’s life to make up our lack, and He has deposited into our account the funds to pay our debt to death. As I am sure you know, some one else besides myself can deposit monies into my account much easier than they can write a check of withdrawal. No identification is required to deposit cash into my account, just my account number. In fact, we had this very thing happen to us one time. Charlotte told me that the bank had made a mistake and had listed a sizable deposit to our account that we did not make. Since we did not want to count on that amount and have the wrong balance when they found the error later on, I went to the bank and told them that we did not have that money in our account. “Oh yes you do” was their answer! I tried to tell them that I did not deposit that money and I had no idea where it came from. They said it doesn’t matter, it is there and it will be there from this point on. I went home and related this to Charlotte. We still didn’t spend any of that excess money for a long time thinking that someone made a mistake and they would remove that amount and we would have written bad checks! They never did. All that mattered to them was that the account on their ledger showed that amount. We used to sing an old hymn years ago that proclaimed that Jesus settled our account long ago. This is exactly what reconciliation means. We were in debt to sin and the consequences of sin, but Jesus paid our debt. Another more recent song states, “He paid a debt He did not owe, I owed a debt I could not pay, I needed someone to wash my sins away; And now I sing a brand new song, Amazing Grace; For Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay”. Can you see how this is exactly what happened at Calvary? Our account with God was in the red and Jesus reconciled our account with God. He made up our lack and became our redeemer. He purchased us with His own life, not asking us to ever again make up that amount but to rest in His redemptive act. This is the act of reconciliation.

We still don’t believe it though! Why do I know this to be true? Because we are still living off the beggarly amount of self-righteousness that we had before that marvelous deposit of grace. Some of us still think that God made a mistake in His word and that we are going to be found writing bad checks concerning His grace. Some ministry come into this revelation and then, finding it too good to be true to their natural mind, quit preaching the whole truth and find themselves compromising with the unbelieving, unregenerated, religious crowd. Well, they say, maybe it doesn’t mean all men, maybe it means all Christian men. Then, after it is pointed out that Christ died for us while we were yet sinners they try to add more qualifying terms. Pretty soon they sound a lot like a commercial I have seen on TV about an Australian bloke who announces that he is going to buy a steak dinner at The Outback Steakhouse for anybody that can throw a dart and hit the center of the board. Typically, everybody in the place hits the center. He then tries to backtrack and continues to correct his challenge each time it is met with the phrase, “Did I say ____, I meant ____”. At the end of the commercial he looks very sweaty and worried and by this time he has everyone throwing blindfolded, still hitting the mark. This reminds me of those that try to add their own qualifying statements to the word ALL in the scriptures. Soon they will be saying, “Did I say only Christian people would be saved? I meant only Christian men that speak in tongues and were baptized on the 4th of July and are right handed and have blue eyes and have middle names of Percy. Sorry friend, everybody in the house is going to get a steak! There are certain things in this life you should never do. Spit into the wind, pull on Superman’s cape, yank the mask off the old Lone Ranger, and don’t mess around with God’s grace!

Now, I want us to take a deep breath and get ready to take a small step for God, but one gigantic leap for our natural mind. Maybe God is not going to just redeem mankind, but maybe He is going to redeem all Things! Why am I saying such things? Because God wants to empower you! We must look beyond where we are and look into the things behind the veil. We become empowered by vision and understanding concerning God’s plan for the ages. The more we see and understand, the more God is made the true ruler of heaven and earth in our midst. He is only to us what we can believe Him to be.

God has created a magnificent infrastructure of thrones and dominions and principalities and powers. They all consist and exist by God’s dunamis. Present in the midst of this infrastructure is a perfect balance of powers that be. Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall at God’s whim and desire. He rules with complete sovereignty. Nothing changes unless He desires it to. The moon rules the night and the sun rules the day. As long as there are times and seasons, the sunlight will give way to the darkness and let it have it’s allotted time. God set the earth on it’s axis and set it in orbital motion around the sun, thus creating night and day. A chance gigantic explosion of a planetary birthing billions of years ago did not create this heavenly order, God ordained it so. Men are expecting to look through the lens of the Hubble telescope and view the beginning of the universe and how the planets came about. I can save the taxpayers a bunch of money. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. It wasn’t random, it wasn’t chaos, it was beautiful and perfect. It had order and design and was accomplished by a mind boggling exousia. The planets were all set on their axis and orbit by God. Each galaxy abides in ordered balance, with each heavenly body subject to the gravitational pull of its neighboring sphere. The earth itself was created subject to the exousia of the sun and to the connected planetary orbits. Each body influences one another. The moon influences the tides of the earth’s oceans; the sun influences our seasons and temperatures. This heavenly influence doesn’t stop with just the physical earth. Through many studies involving massive data files sociologists have found that there are patterns of behavior exhibited by mankind that imply that we are affected by these heavenly influences. A search through the crime statistics in major cities has turned up an interesting statistic that people act more homicidal during a full moon than at other times. It is a fact that we can go only so long without contact with sunlight before it affects our mind and causes mood swings. Many doctors have come to the conclusion that sunlight can have a healing effect on the sick and restore their health quicker than in a room without the rays of sunshine.

There is little doubt that all of these powers and dominions operate thus in the natural, and if so, how much more so do heavenly, spiritual powers affect us in ways that we don’t understand in the spirit? How many times have we been feeling tugs and pulls upon our spiritual life and thought that it was the same old forces that we have always identified as the enemy, i.e. the devil. We know so little about these other “thrones,” “dominions,” and “powers.” Man himself is a creative being. God made us in His image and likeness. Science is just now entering a new frontier of gaining a knowledge of how gravity affects us and those things around us by experimenting in the environment of space and the absence of gravity. For the first time in the history of man on the planet earth, we are being given the power to take things beyond the gravitational kingdom into a heavenly kingdom that gravity cannot rule in. Gravity is an earthly power and has no dominion or exousia in space. The perfect ball bearing can be created in space for the first time. On earth the power of gravity has an invisible influence on everything in the domain of it’s kingdom, which is the planet earth. No matter how sensitive the instruments are that shape the ball bearing, gravity will pull and exert it’s influence upon the bearing and the metal will distort because of the pull of the earth. Now they will be able to create the perfect sphere of steel by taking the metal beyond the gravitational pull into space and produce this perfect bearing in the shuttle laboratory. They have been empowered by breaking through to a heavenly dominion that has been there all along but only in the 20th century did God allow man to come into the kingdom of space. Make no mistake about it, only God gives knowledge. Man would still be making fire by rubbing two sticks together if God didn’t desire him to come to further knowledge.

We also are on the verge of a new frontier of ministry! Oh praise His holy name! We are crossing over into a new dimension of heavenly power that will cause us to know power such as never dreamed of in our religious minds. A ministry is leaving the earth realm and they are speaking from Heaven! They are being set free from the pulls of corruption and are sitting down in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. The world has never seen a ministry like this. Heaven and earth obey them! They are free from the influence of their earthly lineage and they are being changed from the earthly to the heavenly. They are returning to their former state of being in God. There is a restitution taking place in them and around them. The following definition is for the word restitution in the Greek.

605   apokatastasis (ap-ok-at-as’-tas-is); from 600; reconstitution: KJV – restitution.

600 apokathistemi (ap-ok-ath-is’-tay-mee); from 575 and 2525; to reconstitute (in health, home or organization): KJV – restore (again).

We are being reconstituted, reinstated into our former base reality of who we are. Before this house of clay was wrapped upon us, we were as God is, made up of God-stuff. We are being changed from this temporal state of corruption and are returning back to our beginnings in God. This new creature is in us right now and has been bade by God to remain concealed until a time appointed by His divine purpose at which juncture He will cause our new man to manifest, or be revealed, to the world.

We will not be revealed or manifested until all of the many layers of dominion and power in us has been restructured into a perfect harmony. We have been in a state of chaos, as Genesis relates in the period between Gen. 1:1 and 1:2. What we are now is the result of a God ordained chaos that caused us to be lowered into a state of soulish confusion. We have had a fallen order of powers over us and we are now at the precipice of gaining back our rightful place in God. A great shaking is taking place inside of our being. A rearrangement of heaven and earth is taking place. Thrones are toppling and thrones are being re-established. Powers are losing their exousia to keep us in corruption. These dark powers have been given power by God to keep us outside of the inner core of God’s life and we are experiencing the overthrow of these dominions and a new kingdom is rising out of the ashes of our fallen nature. This kingdom has been buried in our earth and will not be denied it’s entrance into our existence and eventually it will be made real to the entire creation.

Elwin Roach, a wonderful writer of the message of the Kingdom of God from Alamogordo, NM and publisher of the monthly letter, “The Pathfinder”, has been writing upon a marvelous subject concerning the purpose of the Cherubim in God’s plan of the ages. He makes it clear in his study that the Cherubim are commissioned by God to keep hidden the sacred things that are not to be revealed until an appointed time. They are found standing at the gate of Eden keeping the way of the tree of life, within the veil of the tabernacle to keep the holiest place hidden from flesh, and so on. Even in the present time they are present in our heavens (mind) keeping us from further revelation until the Father removes them. I have always declared that the greatest miracle of all has been the absence of this message of the kingdom from the ranks of nominal religion. God has taken every measure to hide it from the wise and the strong and has seen fit to reveal it to babes and the weak and foolish. Thank God for the faithful cherubims in our life that have saved the fine and precious things of God for the times of our life when they would be the most honored and treasured.

Are we ready now for the “greater things” of this word and walk? I pray so. If not, you can be sure of one thing, the Lord will be faithful to hide them from us until such a time as they will be a blessing in our life and not a curse. I believe it to be vital that we leave the rudimentary basics of this word and shove away from the shore to the deepness of the waters. We have only dealt with the surface things thus far. We have strived to be happier than we were yesterday, be more prosperous than we were last year, try not to cuss so much and love our families like we should. Excuse me for being so blunt, but shouldn’t we be doing these things by now? I may be wrong, (I know, it’s hard for me to accept too. Ha!) but it seems to me that there are too many people connected with this revelation that are constantly having to attend self-help meetings and seminars on “How to Keep Your Marriage” and “Have You Talked To Your Kids Today?”. Those are first and second day problems. Surely somebody is ready to venture into the things beyond the keeping of the basic rules necessary to live in a civilized world. The Ten Commandments should suffice to keep us from killing each other. If we can’t even love our own mate or friends, how in the world can we expect to come into a word that says we must love our enemies? We need to be EMPOWERED!!

All I hear about from the community of Kingdom folk is how much revelation we have and we are in the third day and we have arrived into the holiest of all and just any moment now we are going to walk on water and glow in the dark. But look around you! Ministry are still playing a game of politics and preying on feeble-minded people, and the body of Christ can’t even forgive one another of wrongs or say an apology if they have wronged someone else. There has to be a people that are ready to go on into the things that God has prepared for this new dimension of ministry regardless of whether their friends are ready to go or not. We’ll just have to pick them up on the next go around. Visit them in the next visitation and leave them our forwarding address. We must go on! If we stay here we will die. The only hope for those that refuse to pay the price of this next transition is for you to leave them in the hands of the first and second day ministries and go through the door and believe that God will send you back to them at another time.

Today, I find many kingdom ministry think they are supposed to be around the former day ministries because these ministries have something to teach the kingdom ministries. Is it just me, or does this not sound a little backwards? On the contrary, I have heard from my Father, and He isn’t telling me to get shallower, He’s telling me to get deeper and bolder with the truths that cause the carnal man to cringe. If I was to listen to my bank account I would get shallower, if I was to go by my popularity meter I would get shallower, if I was to have a great desire to get into the inner circle of big time ministries I would get shallower, but since I crucified all of those things long ago, I’m going to the mountain to see what God has planned for us in this great and terrible day of His appearing! One thing I can promise you is that there will be nothing on that mountain for my carnal man. Like Papa Pratt used to say, “The serpent’s food was the dust of the earth, which is our carnal man, and God is getting ready to put that serpent on a fast!” Don’t you want to get to the place where he finds no place in us for him? Empower us Lord!

The word “empowerment” is a word that I am sure you have read quite a bit in your newspapers or heard it mentioned on TV or on Radio. It is a term that is used quite a bit by the women advocate groups that endeavor to protect the women of the world from rape, spousal abuse, wage discrimination, etc. Many women are trapped in abusive relationships because they feel powerless to get out of them. This is a hard concept for many people to grasp, since they ask, “why don’t you just walk out?” Those that ask this question have obviously never been in a situation where you are completely dominated by someone and made to feel helpless against them even in flight. Some of these unfortunate women have fled many times only to be found again by their abuser and made to pay the price for their act of escape. The laws of the land have helped to keep this type of abuse immune from prosecution and only recently have there been attempts to empower these imprisoned souls against their tormentors. Shelters are full of women that stay awake at night praying that their man will not find them. As a result, more and more agencies are devoting their time to lobby the courts to protect the abused and give them protection.

I speak from experience since my sister was in an abusive relationship when I was in my teens. I saw her many times go to the hospital with broken bones and lie to the doctors about how she received them. They offered to help her leave the man, but all of the doctors and police could do was to help her leave. They couldn’t sit with her in the dark each night, her eyes shut tight, fists clenched, knuckles white, shaking from head to toe, waiting for this man to kick the door down and raise his level of abusive to new horrific levels. I did. I also witnessed how my sister’s will and resolve dwindled with each threatening phone call, until, after receiving promises from the abuser that if she would only come back there would be no more violence, as he had done many times before, she went back. I’ve never told any one, not even my sister, how I, at age 14, waited outside a bar for this man in a dark alley with a baseball bat, intending to beat him to death if necessary, to break him from hurting her. He never showed up. The reason why is that she had gone home with him from the hospital that he had put her into. I have no doubt that if I would have fulfilled my dark intentions that night she would have hated me for it. He had poisoned her mind to the point that she thought she deserved what he gave her and that he was doing it because he was the only one that could love her and put up with her. She is still with the man.

The Lord is wanting to show us how to get power over those things in our lives that have abused us and we have not been able to get free of. I touched on this in the last articles. An alcoholic is not just an alcoholic in the earth, he is also an alcoholic in the heavens of his being. The earth and the heavens are connected in such a way that nothing happens in one without having a mirror action in the other. I would like you to look at a familiar verse of scripture.

Matt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (KJV)

In this portion of the prayer that Jesus taught to His disciples there is a plain connection between earth and heaven. This verse deals with the will that IS in heaven and the prayer is that this will be DONE in earth. The mirror image between earth and heaven is one that has a true image, that image in heaven, and a distorted image, that image in earth. The view that Paul said was disappearing was the view through “the glass darkly”. The view that we strive for is “face to face,” a true likeness, without distortion and free from guesswork, such as “men as trees”. The important thing to focus on is that the true is in heaven and the earth is being changed into that true image.

Matt 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (KJV)

A holy priesthood is being prepared by God to be His express image in the earth and to become His vehicle of redemption to the whole of creation. In the next issue we will look into the powers that lie within us and how God is rearranging our heavens and earth to complete our evolution from an earth-man into a heaven-man.

Col 1:16 For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him.

God has purposed in Himself to have a people in the earth that have been empowered by His spirit. He is calling forth Sons that have been born of God and are true representatives of His nature and character. The Father wants to be seen in us without a hint of a cloudy haze that would distort His image. This is vital to the fulfillment of His plan to reveal Himself to lost creation. God has a message of love and salvation to deliver to His children, but if the messenger is not able to deliver this message in the spirit and mind of the Father, the essence of the love of God toward His loved ones will be missing and the message will be flawed. This is where, in my opinion, the church has always fallen short in telling the gospel story. This story is too overwhelming, too holy, and too lovely to be delivered in an unemotional recital of words read in the scriptures. There must be inflection and timbre included with the words that are fitting to the momentous occasion of calling creation home to God. The mood of the message is as important as the wording. The groaning of the spirit must be heard in the messenger, the longing of the Father to be rejoined in a covenant relationship with those that have been subjected to vanity. The Song Of Solomon can hardly be read and truly understood properly without the reader feeling the longing of the lovers to be united. Love is more than language, it is inflection and timbre. These words are defined as: “inflection: the alteration of a voice or sound; timbre: the quality of a sound that distinguishes it from other sounds of the same pitch or volume.” The message of life and reconciliation is not just a message of word; it is a message of love and joy. The Lord is wooing creation with His voice of heart-wrenching inflection and timbre and with a pitch and vibration that moves a sinner to tears and a saint to a shout. The story of salvation is a heavenly opera that is able to wring out of us emotions that are unknown in the natural world of sounds and events. Indeed, you have never heard true, pure singing until you have been so caught up in the Lord that you hear the angels singing in your midst. We have had many reports from people that have attended our yearly Conference that at times during the service they have heard a choir singing above and beyond the singing that was coming from the attending congregation. Others have heard musical instruments played that were not present in the building at the time. Oh, how grand, how magnificent the sound of that heavenly demonstration of music. It will cause you to fall to your knees and cry holy! The sound of the heavenly voices reaches into the hidden recesses of your soul and grabs you with such emotion that after it is gone you feel that you are wrung out of all strength and you are aware that you have heard the heart of God, as real as if you had put your head to His chest and heard the beat of it. When is the last time you have heard a “message” and felt that way? Get ready! The new species of messenger will be sounding forth the good news of God’s love with vocal chords that have been anointed by the spirit of God to hit a note of sound that will stir the ancient memory of our soul and will call us home. The sheep will be listening for the sound of the Shepherd’s voice and will not follow another.

Why, you may ask, doesn’t the world follow after the message of the church? The answer is that the message is one of a God that is a dictator instead of a God that is a Father. The message of the church is tainted with words of judgment promising harsh punishment for sins delivered without a voice of love. This nullifies the true reason for God’s judgment, which is to bring us to correction and joy unspeakable and full of glory. It is the same scenario that is played out every day in an abusive home where the parents lash out at their children in a fit of rage, striking them with physical blows meant to bring them into submission but accomplishing the direct opposite. There can be no substitute for love. A hug will accomplish more correction than a blow to a child’s body. I am not suggesting that a child should never be reprimanded, for I realize that any child will continue to mis-behave if given a free reign, but I do believe that the parent is responsible for punishment that exceeds the transgression. This happens more times than we would want to think about. The parent has a bad day at work, the car breaks down, the air conditioner goes out, and the frustration over these matters is unleashed upon the children, which, by the way, can’t do anything right in the eyes of the enraged judge of the house. The result is a beating that is more therapeutic for the parent in venting their frustrations than it is for correction of the child’s behavior. Judgment of any kind should never be administered in a spirit of rage or loss of sensibility. The result is much worse than if there were no punishment at all. The church, enraged over the continued rejection of their version of the gospel story becomes more and more abusive toward anyone that does not see things their way. Instead of being the magnet of God’s love to creation, the church has become a judge of God’s wrath that cannot be approached by anyone except those that have lost all hope of love in their life and they commit to the stranglehold of religion just to belong to a group that will give them a sense of security. This, dear ones, is the standard definition of a child that is abused. Some of us that have never been found in an abusive relationship have doubts whether or not the relationship is truly abusive. Why don’t the abused children tell some one about their beatings if they are truly abused? Why don’t they run away from home? The saddest truth of all in an abusive situation is that the abused individual, especially a child, is convinced that they deserve this treatment. Added to this is the reinforcement that is given to this submissive behavior by our societal mores that continuously drill into our children that their parents are the judges of their life and have the moral and legal authority to administer beatings whenever they see fit. The child is reinforced to never question the judgment of their parents by teachers, which are surrogate judges when at school, and by their playmates who are in ordinary relationships with their parents. The abused child is cut off, quite literally, from any hope of escape or explaining their situation to others. The result is a child that grows up to be either withdrawn and extremely low in confidence or esteem, or else one that acts out the acts of senseless violence upon society that were acted out upon them when in this abusive environment.

The world mirrors this same stereotypical attitude with the church. They are either scared to death of the church or they are violently opposed to it. What a tragedy it is to see the church in this shape. Whereas the church has been ordained to be the mother of the world’s lost children, opening her arms with grace and love to all that are in need, she has instead been portrayed as an abusive judge in the earth, spitting out statements of eternal damnation and unthinkable horrors on all that do not follow her commands. No wonder the Lord is preparing another church! The church that is known as “mainstream” is a fake dear ones! She is a wicked stepmother that has no bond of love with the world at all. This wicked church loves the world in word only, and that only because the bible says she must! The lost children of the world are only her lawful responsibility, and by God, if they don’t shape up she is threatening to throw them all into eternal hell fire. Raise up your Jerusalem O Lord! Raise up the true Mother of us all, bring her to us and let her lay her cool, soft hand upon the wounds that have been produced by the abusive, counterfeit church of religious dictators. Let her sweet kisses fall upon our head and let them take away the fear and anguish that has been inflicted upon the world’s lost children. Oh dear friends, can’t you just envision the power, the dunamis and exousia that will be unleashed when the true, nurturing nature of the New Jerusalem, the beautiful Bride of Christ, the loving, compassionate, Mother of us all wraps her arms around us and holds us until the crying stops and cleans the dirt from us as she takes the filthy rags off of us that religion put upon us and she covers us in clean, silky linen made up of the righteousness of our Father.

Even now, as we speak out against the tyranny of an out of control religious mother of Babylon, we see the damage that has been done and the scars that remain in the hearts of the people of God. Some still flinch and pull away when the hand of Christ is stretched out to them. For some, the message of a loving God that asks nothing of us but to believe in His love and come to Him to live with Him in peace and grace is too good to be true. For them, the abused offspring of a wicked guardian, beaten without reason, locked up in cult-like communities of religious bondage, forbidden to question the teachings and rules of their overseers, psychologically brainwashed into testifying to the goodness of their tormentors in order to stay in good graces and not be publicly humiliated, for them the message of unconditional love is foreign and suspicious. In their world of abuse, everyone has an angle, an ulterior motive, a con. Nothing is truly free in their relationship with the wicked mother. Yes, they have programs for the adults, a big gymnasium for the children, a beautiful building to gather in, but only if they continue to give their money to the wicked mother. In fact, they have come to the awful truth that mother only loves them if they support her with their money. Take the money away and mother becomes a tyrant accusing them of neglect and warning them of the consequences that come to them that dare to leave off from supporting her prison house. The wicked mother especially enjoys telling her forced child laborers about the tales of what will happen if they think they could ever leave her domain. She goes into great sickening detail in describing the terror that awaits them outside the walls of her prison. Giant scorpions with tails that sting and torment you, dragons that eat little children, starving children that cannot buy any food and will watch each other starve to death without having the mark of the beast, she tells them of devils lurking behind every door waiting to jump on them and make them slaves of evil. These are the bed time stories that the mainstream church puts her children to rest by. Instead of the true gospel story of our Heavenly Father and His grace and love and His eternal commitment to our redemption, they are told of God’s eternal wrath against us for something that we don’t even remember doing against Him. The fake church tells her young children that they are hopelessly evil and that all of their lives they will have to serve the wicked mother in order to earn their way to heaven. The abused are told that God can’t even look on them, that He never heard their prayers before they came to live with the wicked mother that God turned away from them in their sorrow. Whereas, the opposite is true. God always hears groaning creation and not one word intended for His ears goes by the wayside. Indeed, God has moved for us even when we were sinners and countless times saved us from destruction with or without our asking Him to. He has moved heaven and earth to keep us in this world and is constantly working on our behalf.

I want to attempt to strip the mask off the horror story of the gospel that the counterfeit church has preached and I want to tell you the real story, the gospel story, the story of Good News and not terror. Please read the following word with the understanding that the story of God’s love toward man can never be told wholly in one newsletter, not even in a thousand books. I do, however, believe if you will read the following story and embrace it to your heart, and let God reveal to you His heart concerning His undying love for you, then perhaps I will have been able to empower you with the knowledge that the God we serve is first and foremost, the lover of our soul.

The whole plan of God concerning the creation of mankind is to have an expression in the earth. As it is now, God is a spirit, and is only heard or recognized of those that are in the spirit. The church, the true church, is to be His expression of love and salvation to the world. The gospel story, is a story of an unapproachable, unknowable, holy God birthing out of Himself a creation, made in His image and likeness, in order that God might have fellowship with His offspring, or those that are made up of His God-Stuff. God desired children, heirs of His essence, inheritors of His Godship. He could not find this kind of relationship with anything that was created before man. When God made man a little lower than the angels, God literally lowered Himself into man. The gospel story is not about who we were before we took on flesh, the story of love and supreme sacrifice is one about an invisible, awesome, terrible God falling in love with the soul of man. Yes, with the soul. Whatever we were in the Father before we took on flesh, and there are many theories about our former state, it obviously is irrelevant. Whatever we were, it was not something that satisfied the longing of God’s need for fellowship. There is simply no greater love story than this. The God that was never created. The God who has to swear by Himself because there was nothing greater than Himself to swear by, the lonely, isolated God that created heavens upon heavens and yet found nothing to fellowship with, creates a being formed in corruption, begotten in mixture, part life, part death, part good, part evil, and yet containing all the essence and substance of God Himself. Oh my dear beloved fellows, there is simply no story like this one. This almighty God, this seemingly all complete, all sufficient God looked upon this feeble, weak creature, ruddy with the color of the earth, fresh from the creative act, and fell hopelessly in love with it. Maybe it was when He placed His lips upon the lips of the man-child and gave him the kiss of life and stood back and watched this creature breathe in His life-breath and stand to his feet. The whole Elohim was in attendance, all the prior creations, all the angels, seraphims, winged creatures, each a heavenly wonder in their own right, and yet they all knew that here was a creature different from them all. This creature had something that nothing in heaven had ever seen nor experienced. This creature had a soul. God did not make us and form us of the earth in order to have fellowship with our spirit dear friends. He already had access to that. What is it that separates man from all the other created beings in heaven and earth? A soul. It is the soul that God was after when He mixed us with corruption. Ah, corruption, there is the problem. We can’t see the reason for our corruption. Why didn’t God just create us perfect, without mixture, without a fickle soul? Wouldn’t it have been easier to start out with a perfect specimen and avoid the eons of separation and rebellion? Sure it would. But then again, as I have stated before, God would have the same things He had before this act of creation. Think upon this. As far as we know, everything else that was created before man was perfect, and God still was not able to fellowship with it in the intimate, Father-Son way.

Let me reveal a false, horror story from the wicked mother here. The corrupted church system has told her children that evil is so prevalent and so powerful that it was even in the angels of heaven, so much so that one day an angel called Lucifer tried to pull a rebellion in heaven and almost overthrew God from His throne. In fact, God was so scared of this angel that He had to cast him out of heaven so that Lucifer could not corrupt the other angels. Sound familiar to any of you that have been in the house of the wicked mother? I went to sleep many times with this story in my mind, wondering, “If God wasn’t able to keep the angels themselves holy, how could He keep me saved?” The truth of Lucifer is that he was not an angel, but Adam. It would take another newsletter to lay this all out in the scripture, but let me just point out that Adam is the son of the morning, the son of God, the brightness of His glory, and it is Adam that fell to the earth and was cast out of the garden to toil in the flesh. Get rid of your childish nightmares of devils waiting to jump out at you in the night and of evil lurking in the shadows of this world! Hear this, children of fables! There is only one power in all heaven and earth, only one spirit, only one God, only one authority, and that is Almighty God! Everything else is only GIVEN power, GIVEN authority. Never in the unlimited reaches of eternity has anything TAKEN power from God. Oh Hallelujah! None of these principalities exist externally, they all exist internally. Take note, I did not say that they did not have an external manifestation, but the real seat of existence is in the dark recesses of our earthly, carnal mind. Oh friends, we think we have heard it all, known it all, read it all, and in truth we know nothing yet. We still have the veil of flesh over our minds when it comes to principalities and powers of the air. We are in store for some eye opening, suspender popping, hair raising, life changing, mind boggling, heaven shaking, earth rattling, grave opening, dead raising, truth ringing, chain breaking, I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my one eyes, experiences. Get ready!! Clean the house, light the lamp, stay awake and keep your eyes open. God is starting to finish the mystery of the ages and I don’t think it’s going to sound anything like what the church has been preaching to the world. This word is coming straight from the lips of the Father!

Adam’s story is not a story of evil being equal in dunamis to good, but rather the story of Adam is the story of a creature that was made with rebellion, not by his own craftiness, but by the design of the Master Creator. God did not have to suddenly think fast and act fast, as if out of surprise, when Adam was found to have sinned. Sin was expected, failure was expected, more than expected, it was predestined, designed as an integral part of the plan of God’s redemptive love. Aha! There is the word that separates us from all other creations! Redemptive Love!! Why did Adam rebel? Why did he fall from the heavens and dash himself upon the earth? Why did he give up his shining light for a darkness of death? Because God had designed it so.

The soul is the object of desire in this story of God and His love for man. The soul, by itself, is corruptible, incomplete, in need of a covering, a head, a husband. The soul is weak, fickle, flirtatious, susceptible to sin and if not married will display unflattering characteristics that are earthly. If, however, the soul is ever wooed by the spirit, it is a beautiful thing, feminine in it’s nature, adding beauty and grace to it’s husband, completing the partnership of life. If we sin, we sin in the soul. If we overcome, we overcome in the soul. The spirit is never outside of the presence of the Father, because in essence and substance, it is the Father. When we speak of redemption, of salvation, of the change from corruptible to incorruption, we are not talking about our spirit, we are talking about our soul. Our spirit has never sinned, and indeed, it cannot sin, it was made in perfection. The great struggle of life is that we are a spirit eternally joined to a corruptible soul and as long as the spirit stays singular and the soul stays singular we will be a creature of good and evil, right and wrong, death and life. This is why we can be caught up into God one minute and the next minute fail miserably.

In times past some of us have felt that in order to become what God wanted us to be we had to get to that high place and stay there, which is, in all truthfulness, impossible at the present time. Neither I nor you can go through our everyday life jumping up and down, singing at the top of our lungs, speaking in tongues and expect ourselves to go to the store and pick up some groceries or go to work. We have missed the point of the high place. It is not a place to dwell in it is a place to be changed in. The high places of the spirit are experienced by us as a vital and necessary operation of bringing heaven and earth together in us, soul and spirit. When the marriage is complete, soul to spirit, we will not be going anywhere to obtain something, we will simply be.

So, in light of this process of love lost and love found, we are being guided by our loving Father through a lifetime of re-identification and re-generation. I will never lose my soul, or be without it’s influence. I, my spirit, must keep wooing my soul and courting it until there is a consummation of our love for each other. For the truth is, my soul loves my spirit. It loves to have my spirit lift it up into the presence of our God and at times it rejoices unabashedly in the heavenlies. The problem is, it is still fickle and susceptible. As Paul said,

Rom 7:15-21 15] For that which I (spirit) do I (soul) allow not: for what I (spirit) would, that do I (soul) not; but what I (spirit) hate, that do I (soul). Ed. Note: Continue to read the following verses inserting the titles of spirit and soul. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17] Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18] For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19] For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20] Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21] I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (KJV)

This is a story of a bad marriage if I ever heard it! The love story goes on though. Love that is eternally enduring, love that is never ending, this is the love that God loves us with. His great desire for us is that He will continue to restructure our fallen minds and our spirit-soul relationship until He has a New Creature with which He can have true God-fellowship with. The only way He can have this type of fellowship is to make this redeemed man like unto Himself. In the present state of being, that being a divided state, we cannot look at God eye to eye. It would be a deadly act for us in our corruptible state. As a matter of fact, nothing that has been created thus far can look Him in the eye. The eye is said to be the window to the soul. If our eye is the window to our soul, then the eye of God is the window to the most sacred and frightful part of God. Looking into the eyes is an act for lovers. It is an intimate act that can be surprising when one sees things that were meant to be secret and hidden. It is an act that God means to be able to perform with this creature, man. Just the thought of it thrills my soul. To think of looking into the open, unblinking eyes of Jehovah God!

This reminds me of a recent discovery that Charlotte and I made while viewing old videos of our grandchildren. Although I truly love each one of my grandchildren and I marvel at the beautiful diversity of personalities and talents of each one, I have always had a close, spiritual connection with our daughter Michelle’s oldest son, Deryk, who is 7 years old at the time of this writing. Michelle lived with us for a while when Deryk was born until she and her husband could afford to buy their own home, so Deryk was in our house from birth until he was several months old. This was a time of each one in the household doing what we could to help take care of the new baby. Ordinarily, I would have found myself mysteriously called by God to spend an exorbitant amount of time in my office studying or writing or just plain old hiding out so that I wouldn’t have to get involved in the more messy affairs that I knew from past experiences would surely come from the early stages of rearing this baby. It has always amazed me how much mass material a little, tiny baby can expunge from both ends of its body. If it wasn’t number one, it was number two, and sometimes both number one and number two at the same time, and then there was number three that usually ended up as a white paste all over the shoulder of my shirt, and then number four came along which made me think that the child had a hidden water tap somewhere in his mouth and he received particular joy out of holding all the drool in his mouth until Paw Paw lifted him up in the air over my face and then he turned the faucet wide open. The truth is, I loved it! I loved every single moment of that time with this small bundle of love that God gave to us. As a result, when Deryk had a stomach ache I was the one that volunteered to walk with him at all hours of the day and night. We bonded as close as two beings could bond. From the moment I laid eyes upon him I knew that God had given him to Charlotte and I in the spirit. It may sound strange, but I believe Deryk knew me in the spirit and our bond was not in the flesh, but on a higher plane. Recently, Charlotte and I were looking at some of the old videos and we found the video of Deryk’s first trip home from the hospital. Each one took their turns holding him and eventually he ended up in my arms. We were amazed watching the video and seeing for the first time something that we had missed when it was happening. On the screen, as plain as day, we saw Deryk open his eyes wide and stare transfixed into my eyes for many long minutes and I was talking to him softly. Charlotte looked at me and said, “Honey, there was a spiritual bond taking place between you two right at that exact time”. It was plain as day. From that point on that boy has been my biggest admirer. We thought he never would be able to say my name. To our other grandchildren I was “BePaw”, a mispronunciation of grandpa, but rather cute I thought. Well, Deryk couldn’t get it, try as he may. He learned everyone else’s name, Mama, Dada, Nana but he couldn’t say mine, until one day in our van he looked at me and stared into my eyes for a long moment and blurted out, Paw Paw!! in a loud voice. Michelle told me later that week that she wished he had never learned my name. That was all he would say during each waking moment. Paw Paw, Paw Paw, Paw Paw, Paw Paw, on and on. In the days to come, I found myself looking at him and not being able to take my eyes off him and he would be returning the look. Our eyes just naturally met and we connected in a way that I haven’t known with any other child. It was so bad, what with Deryk thinking that Charlotte and I were his parents instead of Michelle and her husband that we encouraged them to quickly find a house so that there would be a proper bonding of the child with them. As Deryk has grown older, and he has started school and taken an active part in life, we haven’t been able to spend a whole lot of time with him, but I still catch his eye every once in a while, such as last week in our church service, while leading singing, I looked down in the front row and there was Deryk, hands lifted up to God in praise and singing the songs of the Lord at the top of his voice, and Paw Paw knew that the bond was still there and that some day both Deryk and I will look into the eyes of the One that joined us together seven years ago, in a rocking chair, mesmerized by our love for one another.

Along with this great bond of looking into each others eyes in this day, we also know that there must be a certain sound come forth from those that God will use to present Himself to the world. The voice that will draw the world to God is the voice of the Father speaking through the sons. When this voice comes forth it will transcend doctrinal differences, religious knowledge, and ritualistic experience. The voice of the Father will speak to a dormant part of the lost ones conscience and will make a connection to an ancient yearning that is found in all of creation, that is, to be reacquainted with its creator.

The Father is not going to give this voice to anyone else save those that are destined to be the Word made flesh. The Word is more than just language, it is the essence of God’s will expressed. The Word is the expression of God, complete with subtle shadings of wordless meanings. This is expressed in the Hebrew language through throaty sighing and respirational inflection along with the tongue. Our destiny is not just to speak the words of God, but to say them in such a way that only God could say them to His love, with passion and longing. The sheep will not be led by the word, or doctrine, of the shepherd, but will follow the unique sound of His voice.

It is this inflection of word that we are being empowered with. This takes exousia to perform it. We must have permission and authority from God to speak as God, but speak as God we must. We must find our identity in Him and allow His cleansing stream to wash the mud of Adam off us. So much emphasis is put upon the message in this day that we lose sight of the fact that the message is not enough, it must have a voice with it. That voice is the voice that prompted the people of Jesus’ day to proclaim, “Never man spake like this man”! He spoke with authority (exousia) and everyone that heard Him recognized it with a long lost sense. What is this long lost sense? Why is it that Jesus was able to calm the man that roamed the graveyards and was not able to be constrained by any man and yet, when he met Jesus, he stood docile and in his right mind? What is this recognition?

I believe it is a proof of the following scripture.

John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (KJV)

John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. (KJV)

Every man that has come into this world has been lit by the light and life of God. We have been made familiar with God and His voice before we took on flesh and at the sound of our Father’s voice we are moved by it’s familiarity, regardless of our beliefs or spiritual state. The sinner is moved by this voice as much as the believer for it is an ancient connection that is as much a part of us as our arms or legs.

I have been ministering in our local assembly abou the scripture in Galatians 4:19.

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, (KJV)

If you will read the whole book of Galatians you will get a sense of why Paul would first of all call them “little children.” They have been fathered by Paul into the gospel of Jesus Christ and His kingdom and have confessed with their mouth the confession of faith but their actions and lifestyle are not living up to their confession. We are faced with this malady in monstrous proportions in our own time. So many are being born into this “mystery” of the dispensation of grace that one would think the kingdom is on the verge of sweeping the land. I don’t think so. What we are finding is that we have a bunch of children in our midst with their little petty natures that think they must have all the toys in their toy box or else they are going to start screaming and kicking and biting and scratching.

Some of the preachers that are so called kingdom preachers are so immature, not in the scriptures but in the expression of God’s nature, that I expect them to start holding their breath in the pulpit if the people don’t bless them like they feel they deserve to be blessed. Spoiled Brats are what they are! If God doesn’t move the way they expect Him to move they throw a fit. If God doesn’t give a new house or a new car to them then they start threatening Him to quit preaching this word of the kingdom, because after all God, you know I could be a star in those other orders, so if you want me to continue preaching reconciliation and life then you better start shaping up and giving me what I want, when I want it. The truth is, they may never have said these words, but it is written all over their actions and inflections of their voice. “Little Children” is what they are, afraid of the big, bad wolf of the nominal churches. Some are so afraid of losing their reputation that they will go to great extremes to cover their tracks on reconciliation and other “disturbing” truths. Double talk becomes their specialty. Whenever they start to get anywhere near the word “reconciliation” they start to make qualifying statements and apologies for even suggesting that God might save every man. They, in fact, won’t even mention the English word “reconciliation”, unless forced to, all because of their fear of being “labeled” by the big, bad wolf and find themselves locked out of their big churches. Little Babies is what they are. Where are the MEN? Where are the WOMEN? Not little children playing with their Barbie and Ken dolls but those that have cast their lot with God and with this final consummation of the ages. I am tired of the games that people play. In this present state of being that Charlotte and I find ourselves in, there is no patience left in us with the whining crowd of those that confess to be in this word and then do nothing but childish acts of tattling against one another and trying to steal each others marbles, just so that they can come together in some meeting and compare how many marbles they have gathered since they last met. O foolish Gatlatians, who hath bewitched you? You think you are big shots in the kingdom, men and women to be reckoned with, filled with knowledge and stature in the eyes of men, but the truth is, you are little hellions, mischievous troublemakers, jealous twerps that have no sense of honor and respect. You join yourselves in packs and make your living by deceit and lies, tearing down others in order to build yourselves up.

This is a blight upon the face of God in the earth. Men behaving like children. Paul was letting the Galatians know that he had birthed them in the image of Christ but something has gone wrong with their development. Instead of expressing the form, or image, of Christ, they were expressing the image of Adam. Paul travailed in birth pangs for them to be reformed with the image of Christ.

In our beginnings we all were imprinted with the image of Christ, with His life and light. This image was embossed upon us and was our true identity or our base identity. Before I partook of Adam I partook of Christ. If you could peel my being like you would peel an onion you would strip away each layer until you arrived at my base self, which is Christ. He is my root, my center, my core. The same is true for every man and woman that has been born of the womb. Sinner or saint alike, they all are children of God. The problem with the sinner is that he is mis-identified through a process of false imprinting.

The world of science is well schooled in the procedure of what is known as “Imprinting”. In fact, a movie was made recently and is showing in some theaters and on the way to the video rental markets in which “imprinting” is the central theme. The story line is that a young girl finds a nest of goose eggs in the field and she helps to hatch the baby geese. It is a very well known fact that baby geese, or goslings, are one of nature’s creatures that go through a process whereby they get imprinted by the first thing they see when born. Usually this is the mother goose, but in certain circumstances it can be anything, a dog, cat, cow or human. The story line of the movie reveals that indeed the goslings think they are human and must be re-identified to their true self, which is a goose. Another aspect of the misprint of the young geese is that they are supposed to migrate from their birth place and then migrate back to the place of their birth. The young girl has to learn how to teach them how to migrate as other geese do, and with the help of her father, they fly with the geese on a migratory route of geese. The suspense of the plot is that they couldn’t teach the geese how to migrate back to the birthing place.

There are some interesting parallels to this story of the misprinted geese and to the misprint of ourselves. As we stated before, our beginnings, our base lineage is in Christ. He is our pattern, our first-born, our prototype. Notice though, that in the process of imprinting our vision that which we first see when our eyes are opened, is that which we become and try to pattern ourselves after. Let me ask you a question. When were our eyes first opened? In Genesis we read,

Gen 3:4-7 4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6] And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7] And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Gen 3:9-11 9] And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10] And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11] And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? (KJV)

From this day onward, Adam and all his children were misprinted by corruption, not by a mistake, but by design. The son of the morning, the morning star, the bright one became the toiler of the flesh, the man of sin, the enemy of righteousness. Man has never been able to be satisfied with the earth. As much as he tries to consume all the wickedness and filth that this world of thorns and thistles can offer him, the need for something else exists in him. Riches cannot satisfy him. Show me a rich man and I will show you a man that cannot get enough money. Howard Hughes went insane with the unquenchable need for money and the more money he had the more he needed. Why? Because every one that has come into this world has within them an ancient, timeless longing to be reconnected with their heavenly Father. We have been like the geese that were taught everything that the little girl knew about being geese, but there were some things that the girl could not teach them. Those things were things that had to come from way down inside of the genetics of the geese. I can tell you this about that movie. The geese come back home! Not because a human taught them, but because of who they were before they were imprinted with a false image. Our true image, our true likeness is not in fallen Adam, it is in the arisen Christ! Hear me when I say this, religion can only tell you so much about God, the preacher can only tell you so much about God, the bible can only tell you so much about God, this newsletter can only tell you so much about God, the final revealing, the final awakening to who you are is not going to come from without, it is going to rise from within you like the rising of the sun in the land. Trust God to finish your restructuring dear hearts! You are going to make it! We have migrated away from God by design, and some of us have been helped by religion to migrate even further than we would have if left alone, but our migration back to our original birth place is going to be done by divine intervention. A voice is going to lead us, a sound is going to ring true to our ears. An inner compass that we have never used in our natural life force is going to be revealed in us and we will hear Him say, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”. The Way home is through His truth and His life. No other life will do. The migration has begun in a few. They have quit following the pied piper of the church and they have heard the sound of the voice of Him that has been raised from the dead. That inner compass is pointing a different way, an opposite way, and they have to rely on that inner yea and amen to lead them home.

O Father, empower your people. We have been weak and weary, deceived by our own minds, lied to by a false mother, led astray by our own lusts for the favors of the flesh and power with men. Heal us Lord, save us from ourselves and give us a new vision in this hour. Take the fear of the night out of us. May we no longer look toward you with dread and with doubts of your love for us. May we run to you Lord, like a child who needs the arms of its Father around it. Give us your name, your authority, your power. Expose it in us, wrap us in the vestures of your Kingship, give us your voice, your sound, your nature, your love. We want nothing in return Master, only you. No riches, no titles, no crowns, no goods, no lands, nothing but you Lord. Only your touch will soothe our thirst, only your embrace will drive out the ghosts of our past, only your voice will calm our shaking, trembling heart, only your love will bring peace to our troubled minds. Make us able to carry your crown, wield your sword, deliver your word. Finish your work in us. Cut away the old, rotten garments and clothe us with clean, white linen. We await your command, give to us your commission, call a holy convocation, a sacred feast, a gathering of the men of valor and form an army of salvation out of us. We desire to do your will, work your works, walk your walk. Amen.
