The Dawning of a New Day

Following the results of the American election, I feel I must just share a number of things. There have been a number of articles released willy-nilly in the aftermath of the results – some good, others not so good. What has amazed me is the great spread of opinions being expressed from well-known and respected leaders of the Western Church. In the end, it has only served to confirm the things I was sensing in my spirit on 4th November as the election took place. Although this was an election held in America, it will have significant repercussions upon the rest of the world.

Many of the newspapers reported the dawning of a new day. However, very few perceive the character of the day that has dawned. People have voted for change but have no idea exactly what kind of change will be coming. When righteous men are in power, a city or country benefits. However the reverse is also true. The very fact that the president of Iran welcomed and congratulated Obama on his victory, should ring alarm bells. The enemies of America now will have a friend in the White House and must be rubbing their hands in glee.

On 4th November, every time I closed my eyes I saw a black mist rolling in from the sea towards a body of land. I heard the words ‘black fog’. After doing a bit of research I discovered that a black fog is a fog so thick that people cannot see their hands in front of their faces. It rolls in very quickly and creates chaos. Communication and transportation are interfered with and many accidents occur, including death by suffocation. There are many documented cases of the results of a black fog in the last two centuries. The phrase ‘black fog’ is also used in connection with witchcraft and mind-control. It describes a state where people seem unable to grasp hold of their own thoughts within their minds. “Black fog’ is also used as a pseudonym for depression.

As I waited on the Lord I became more and more aware that something supernatural and evil was blowing in across the nations (depicted by the sea in the vision). It represented a spiritual assault of such proportions that whole areas would be blanketed by this unfurling fog, causing people to behave in uncharacteristic ways and be easily controlled by an external source. The connection with ‘depression’ seemed to be a play on words about the results of this creeping fog being economic depression of vast proportions.

Later, as I watched the election results being announced, I wanted to weep as I watched the jubilant crowds celebrating the victory of Obama. It reminded me so much of the welcome that Hitler received from the German population as he began to brainwash them into cooperating in his diabolical schemes. A charismatic leader with great powers of oratory is able to persuade people in a way that is chilling. They can be convinced to call evil, good and good, evil and not even be aware that they have done so.

I had always felt that the outcome of the election was in the hands of the Church in America. If they would align themselves with God’s plumb-line expressed in His Word and vote in line with His standard of morality, then there would be a window of God’s favor released upon this vast nation. However, the results indicated that many in the Church either didn’t vote or voted for liberal humanistic values. In effect, this election result has revealed the true state of the heart of the Church at large in America – and it is far worse than many concerned intercessors had realized. God said to His people long ago, “I set before you life and death. Choose life that you and your children may live.” Unfortunately the majority of voters did not take His advice. When Christians vote for those who support abortion and homosexual marriage, it is obvious they have departed from God’s blueprint for righteous living. There was a faithful remnant who cried out to the throne for mercy instead of judgment and God has taken note of those who feared the Lord and who tremble at His Word. However, it is plain that the level of compromise and rejection of Truth has reached epidemic proportions in the Church. The infiltration of humanism and new-age teachings thinly veiled as spiritual doctrines has rendered much of the Church blind and deaf to the voice of Truth.

I watched the people chanting, “yes, we can” and was reminded of the building of the tower of Babel and the peoples’ decision to throw the yoke of God off their necks in favor of building something of their own desire. Unfortunately the outcome of this particular endeavor was chaos as God dealt with their rebellion. At this present time, the people have cried for a king instead of God and a king they have been given. However there is also leanness coming to their souls. I do sense that the outcome of this election will release a wave of judgments upon this nation and firstly upon the Church, because Judgment always begins with the house of God. I do not say this lightly but with great sadness in my heart for it is always painful to be disciplined by the Lord. We can only comfort ourselves in the knowledge that it will make us partakers in His holiness according to Hebrews 12.

When I was pondering the election results and feeling a great unease in my spirit, I asked the Lord to speak to me from His Word and He led me to Hosea 8:

Hos 8:1-8 Put a trumpet to your mouth. He comes like an eagle against the house of the Lord, because they have broken My covenant and have sinned against My Law. 2 Israel shall cry to Me, My God, we know You. 3 Israel has thrown off good; the enemy shall pursue him. 4 They have set up kings, but not by Me; they have made rulers, and I knew it not. They have made themselves idols with their silver and their gold, so that they may be cut off. 5 Your calf, O Samaria, has cast you off. My anger is kindled against them. Until when will they not attain purity? 6 For from Israel it came also. The craftsman made it, but it is not God. For the calf of Samaria shall be splinters. 7 For they sow the wind, and they reap the whirlwind. It has no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal; if it does yield, strangers shall swallow it up. 8 Israel is swallowed up; now they shall be among the nations as a vessel in which there is no pleasure.

This passage deals with the waywardness of God’s people and describes their idolatry and rejection of God’s laws. They set up kings but not according to God’s desire. The result of this is that the idols will be reduced to splinters and the enemy will pursue them. There will also be a failure of harvest – which is connected with the seven lean years of Pharaoh’s dream. The rest of the nations will also despise them. They have sowed the wind and will reap the whirlwind. Each vote cast was like the sowing of a seed for a particular outcome. God says the harvest will be of gigantic and destructive proportions. As I read this phrase about the whirlwind, I was reminded of the recent destructive tropical storms and hurricanes which hit the coast of America. I would not be surprised if another one follows suit shortly. Now would be a good time for the priests of the Lord to weep between the porch and the altar because of the state of the Church and what it has brought upon the nation:

Joel 2: 12-19: 12 Therefore also now, says the LORD, turn you even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD 14 Who knows if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. 17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare your people, O LORD, and give not your heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: why should they say among the people, Where is their God? 18 Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people. 19 Yes, the LORD will answer and say to his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and you shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen

I also have a sense that persecution against true believers will increase greatly in the coming days. Freedom of speech will be further curtailed and Christians will have to count the cost of faithfulness to the Lord just as their brothers and sisters in the East have done for decades. However, let us remember that all things work together for good for those who are called. Persecution has always served to purify and strengthen the Church of Jesus Christ. God is intent on having a Bride for the Son that is without spot or wrinkle and the fires of purification serve to display the beauty of Christ in those who remain faithful. Our Father is still upon the throne and as world powers plot and scheme and prepare to array themselves in battle against the Lord, let us remember that God sits in heaven and laughs. He has already installed His Son on His holy hill.

Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

In conclusion, Beloved, a new day has dawned in the history of the world. The clock has ticked over and there is no going back. However, let us now, more than ever before, walk in the fear of the Lord. These are not days to walk in compromise or apathy. These are days to stand strong and courageous, loving not our lives unto death. It is time to be counted as His disciples and to count the cost of acknowledging Him before all men.

Luke 21:33-36: 33 The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts are weighed down with headaches and drinking and anxieties of this life; and that day should suddenly come on you; 35 for it shall come as a snare on all those sitting on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, praying in every season that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things which shall occur, and to stand before the Son of Man.
