Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…” (Gen. 1:26)

“(The son) is the image of the invisible God…” (Col. 1:15)

“…put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” (Col. 3:10)

It is in the context of the substance and form of God that we must seek to understand man.  The image of God is fulfilled in Christ Jesus, but to come full circle the image of the Father must find its resting place in the body of Christ.

Even though man was created in the image and the likeness of God, having lost the glory of God, he must watch and find his way back to the glory for his spirit and soul.  The Lord God has presented to mankind the substance of His Spirit to take form in mankind’s soul, to cause him to be made new in the attitude of his mind and once again be the likeness of God in righteousness and holiness.

There is one sent for this purpose – Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior of the world!

Christ is God.  He is the Only Begotten Son of God who came in the flesh of the son of Mary, Jesus, who is the body that the Father had prepared.  [See Hebrew 10:5] Because of the astounding sacrifice of Jesus Christ, [the sacrifice is the flesh of Jesus] the flesh nature of the world was vicariously and by position brought to death.  In the resurrection of Jesus, the power of Christ overwhelmed the dead flesh, consumed it, [thus transforming it] and then raised up the Eternal Body of Jesus Christ.  He was the NEW FORM who walked.  This body, however, still showed the marks of the sin that had wounded and brought His flesh to death.  Because of the ascension of Christ Jesus the body that He died to save shall also be raised up.  This body is the flesh of His flesh and bone of His bone, eternal man who is the family of God.

Jesus Christ came into the world to save the world, not to condemn it.  The people of the world will come into their salvation by way of Eternal Life in their souls bringing death to the flesh nature.  Jesus Christ crucified the flesh in His physical body; the people of the earth must do the same in the unseen/spiritual area.

The mystery of Christ is His body.  His body is made up of many members and they are one, joined in Christ – the family of God.  God has only ONE BEGOTTEN SON. He is Christ.  CHRIST IS THE FAMILY OF GOD.

Jesus has come by His Spirit to indwell the human form in order to heal His body, to resurrect it and inseparably join it in Christ.  When the man of the dust has joined the recreated spirit, he will be seen – THE NEW FORM of man who walks.   The last enemy is overcome; all things are under Christ’s feet!

“He said to me: ‘It is done.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.  To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.  He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.'”  (Revelation 21:6, 7)
