JOY VERSES happiness

january 29, 2005

All things in the natural realm come from the spiritual realm, be they holy or unholy.  The conditions, which are debased, migrate from the devious influence generated in the mind, will and emotions of fallen man.  Conditions depicted by love and joy and peace spring from man’s recreated spirit.  It is this power that will change the world from darkness into light.

Happiness is a state of mind. Joy is of the spirit.  Joy always comes from the recreated spirit of man and is related to the righteousness of the soul. Joy is inward peace and love that has nothing to do with the tangible realm of humankind.  Joy is steadfast.  Happiness is fleeting – dependent upon the moment.  Joy enables you to appreciate the moment, to relish a thought, to savor that which comes to you.

Happiness is built on shifting sand.  Joy is a rock that will never fail.

The character of a person forms his attitude.  If you allow circumstances to be the ruler and the gage of the worth of life, you will never be satisfied.  But if you allow the value of your life in Christ to be the judge, your circumstances will be viewed as part of the whole and acceptable to you.

The recreation of the spirit and retraining of the soul causes the reformation of all that surrounds you.  The way the condition of mankind fell is the way it will rise up again – from the spirit within.

“The Lord supplies all of our needs according to His blessings in glory.”  His glory is to be reflected in man as He is allowed full sway in individual lives.  How rich is His glory in you?  Do you look at circumstances and see lack or do you look at God and see supply?  When the Lord is glorified in you, your circumstances will reflect His glory.

“Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith.”

Your faith allows you to know that “in all things God works for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”  If you keep your eyes trained on Him, He will bring you to the place where the faith that you have will become FACT – the TRUTH that you live by.   1 Peter 1:22 says that we are perfected by obedience to the truth and thereby have sincere love for our fellow man, loving one another deeply, from the heart.  Romans 13:8 tells us to let no debt remain outstanding except the continuing debt to love one another.  So learn TRUTH and let LOVE be established in your heart and the JOY, which passes understanding, will be your constant companion.  It is through LOVE that the world is overcome.

“May you being rooted and established in love [through the obedience to TRUTH] have the power [together with all the saints, who with us shall be made perfect] to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the LOVE [mercy] of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure [the standard is Jesus] of all the fullness of God!
