MATTHEW 16

BY:  LINDA KEITH

I want to share with you, something that Father gave me today as I was talking to Him, and reading His Word.

Mt. 16:24-25, 28,  VS 24, “THEN SAID JESUS UNTO HIS DISCIPLES, IF ANY MAN COME AFTER ME, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF AND TAKE UP HIS CROSS AND FOLLOW ME. FOR WHOSOEVER WILL SAVE HIS LIFE SHALL LOSE IT: AND WHOSOEVER WILL LOSE HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE SHALL FIND IT. VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, THERE BE SOME STANDING HERE, WHICH SHALL NOT TASTE OF DEATH, TILL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN HIS KINGDOM

I have read this a hundred times, before, but when I sat down today, I KNEW in my heart that Father was going to give me deeper understanding of  SOMETHING. So, I just was sort of turning the pages of His Word, and He stopped me at this scripture. As I read it, again, He started showing me some things.

VS 24, “If ANY man.” Right off the bat, Father said to me, “This means just what it says, “ANY MAN”! I don’t care what he has thought, what he’s been taught, what he has believed, or even what he has spoken or taught himself, I mean “ANY MAN”.

Let HIM deny himSELF..” The ONLY way we can deny our self, is to deny that it is Him AND us living in this tent of flesh. This is the only way that we will destroy SELF. And, notice, it says “let HIM”, it doesn’t say that Father is going to do this for us. It is Christ that is living His Life in our body that does it. It is Christ that sees ONLY HIM living in this body.

To deny that it is ONLY Christ living in this body, IS Father’s Truth; and to say, it is Christ AND us, is denying, the truth of who we are and it double minded, His and ours. We, the new creature. Christ, have only ONE mind in us, Christ’s.

(Gal 2:20, Acts 17:28) “I LIVE, YET NOT I , BUT CHRIST LIVETH…”. “I DO NOT FRUSTRATE THE GRACE OF GOD: FOR IF RIGHTEOUSNESS COMES BY THE LAW (THE LAW OF SIGHT OF SELF), THEN, CHRIST IS DEAD IN VAIN”.  (my words in parenthesis).

“FOR IN HIM WE LIVE, MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING; AS CERTAIN, ALSO, OF YOUR OWN POETS HAVE SAID, FOR WE ARE ALSO HIS OFFSPRING.”

Notice that it DID NOT say, “In Him AND me”.   It is HIM that is living, not us.

Mt 16:25, “FOR WHOSOEVER WILL SAVE HIS LIFE, SHALL LOSE IT; AND WHOSOEVER WILL LOSE HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE SHALL l FIND IT.”

This is one powerful verse!! This shows that we have to make a conscious chose, are we willing to allow HIM ONLY to live in these bodies of ours, or are we going to wait for Father to do something that He has already done, and is WAITING on us to do, instead of reversing it and we are doing the WAITING? He has ordained us to accept what HE has done.

I noticed in these two verses, two words that came together, even though they were in 2 different verses: SELF-LIFE! This gives us our choice. Will we choose the Life that Christ lives through us, or will we hang on to SELF-LIFE? He will not have it both ways. You know, Jesus was a simple man, and that’s how we should look at His Word, in simplicity of His Spirit. The process has been worked, in the Spirit, and we ARE SPIRIT!  His Work is finished.

John 17:1, “FATHER, THE HOUR IS COME…GLORIFY THY SON, THAT THY SON MAY ALSO GLORIFY THEE.”
