Really now, am I serious? Am I claiming to know the meaning of life? Who’s to say, but you see in titling this article as such a smile is born upon my face! I am like you – limited and imperfect in my understanding. Yet, the lofty title of this article serves at least two purposes. One- it got your attention (call it a marketing ploy if you like!). Two- “it” has always had mine! I have been seeking answers since I was a child. In my mind, we are not really living unless we have a desire to find out why we are living. This is our uniqueness, our quest and perhaps even our burden as human beings.

While claiming to know the meaning of life may seem a bit grandiose, seeking this universal and seemingly unattainable mystery is not. Deep within us all is that desire, that calling, that inner voice asking “what is life for?” It may be faint, but for those who hear the Call and sincerely seek the answers the Spirit of Truth will not leave us empty. For those who answer the Call, a higher understanding and experience of God is received. The only way to know God is to experience God. This encounter brings a higher sense of peace that the world can not give nor can it take away. We have tried to find meaning in our mundane lives using the ways and things of this world, but we just come up short and are left wanting. We know deep within our being that our existence and meaning goes beyond what we can see, and our minds have to know why. This is our very nature and prime directive from God. Knowledge of the truth is essential to salvation.

PR 4:7 Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

1 TIM 2:3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4] who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Well, if God “wants” something, my guess is that He is going to get it! God wants (wills) that all of mankind be saved and have the knowledge of the truth, and so it is. God insures this perfect plan by doing the work Himself within us! However, as the prophet says, I believe it will cost us all we have or at least all we think we have! A wise man once said that we must lose our (false) life to find our (REAL) life. Relative within our own minds, the meaning of life is determined by what we are living for.

There is no doubt man’s hungry mind is continually seeking knowledge in general, but where it “feeds” will determine its health status. Some fill their minds with politics, others with sports and others with the religious doctrines of men. While this world certainly provides a smorgasbord of food for thought, the only food for a healthy soul is the knowledge of the truth that only comes from God. Our minds must be nourished with the truth just as the Spirit is only fed by doing the will of God.

JN 4:34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

As Jesus knew, doing God’s will is all we really need though most do not believe this. While some wanted only fish and bread to eat, others wanted something more. Jesus the Christ taught that knowing the truth would set us free and so it does. We are set free from deception, ignorance and fear. This is overcoming the world as Jesus did. You see for us to grow in the knowledge of the truth we must eat of that higher fruit which many call foolishness. Seeking answers is like seeking food. If we are hungry enough, finding the answers becomes more important than anything else in our otherwise meaningless lives. The disciples left everything to be find the answer. Christ has the answer, but is this your question – What is life for? Once this hunger begins to growl within your aching soul, it will not be silenced until it has been satisfied. Eventually everyone becomes tired of the lower, worldly fruit and seeks what is higher and better for the soul. Not all that heard Jesus speak could reach nor digest what he was serving.

MT 13:11 He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.”

Some were just not ready yet and didn’t have the “ears to hear” (understand) the higher meaning of what Jesus was teaching. Above everything else that Jesus was on this earth, he was a Teacher.

JN 13:13 “You call me `Teacher’ and `Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.”

This is what Jesus did with the disciples day and night. Sure, Jesus healed the bodies of those who were suffering in the flesh, but what Jesus REALLY wanted to heal was our souls through teaching us the way of salvation. Being the manifestation of Love, Christ met everyone where they were. The more carnally minded just wanted a quick fix for their bodies, and Jesus healed them through their faith. Others sought Jesus out to fix that aching pain within their souls. He fed them with the TRUTH. Do we even today understand what he is telling us? Surely, Jesus was on to something? Surely there must be a higher, divine purpose to our existence- something hidden from our natural minds? If not, then is everything simply vanity? Does God know and care about us? Is there even a God?

For the sake of my faith, my existence and this article, I will presume that there is a God (Creator) that has an unchangeable purpose for mankind that is unconditionally fulfilled by His sovereign will. While some seem to see God in a lesser light, a more human light, I am hopeful that truth seekers realize that God is above all things. This means that God, His plan, His power and His grace are perfect and sufficient to bring about His will and salvation into our lives. I see that everything has been created for a divine purpose and is carried out by a higher power and will. Even so, we must also acknowledge that our existence isn’t fully perceived (understood) in our normal human consciousness. We must reach beyond this “grand illusion” we perceive with our natural senses into that world of the Spirit. Our very inner being desires something more than we can see, smell, taste, hear or touch. Our inner, spiritual nature universally calls each of us higher toward God- to be one with our Creator.

I will not attempt to convince anyone that I have discovered an absolute definition for the “meaning of life.” This is not something that could be explained to others with human words, but rather something that must be experienced to be known. Even then, our experiences are relative and only serve as stepping blocks to go even higher. As one song writer says, trying to describe God and our experiences is like “smelling the color 9.” In other words, our senses and expressions will certainly fall short of the mark – something we are used to doing! No, we can not read what the meaning of life is, but we can be shown the Path that leads there.

So don’t believe what I or any other says, but seek for the answers yourself. Find out what LIFE means to you. I don’t suppose anyone could ever really write on paper what the meaning of life really is. Then what am I bringing to the table? Well, if the meaning of life was like glory of the sun then what I offer might be considered a ray of light into a dark room. I have been seeking Truth from God all my life it seems. As a young boy, I would sincerely ask God to tell me “what is life for?” I have been walking the Path. I have been going here and there; reading this and that; asking and contemplating how and why. With an open heart and open mind, honestly consider all that I have to offer. What I will share is only what I have found- nothing more. It is neither right nor wrong, but only what God has led me to see at this present time along the Path.

With such an esoteric topic as this, where would one begin to explain or even express the meaning of life? Most of my studies and background have been within Christianity and the Bible. Even so, my experiences have shown me that Truth is Truth no matter how our mind, language or even religion may filter and distort it. Just as there is but one God, we must come to see that there can be only One Truth, but many ways of seeing it.

So as is the case, my perspective will be “Christian” centered and even more so “Christ-centered.” Also, I am continually amazed and inspired by the esoteric knowledge that has been collected and certainly hidden in the Bible. I wonder if its wisdom has ever been paralleled in our time. Along with Biblical and Christian ideas, I will draw from accepted scientific truth as well because all truth leads to and supports the Truth. Yes, all things, seen or unseen, must point to the Truth from and of God- showing in essence that God doesn’t make mistakes, but only perfection.


First, we may want to define what “life” is before we try to attach any meaning to it. Of course most consider “life” as our animated existence in this earthly plane (i.e., the physical world of the senses). While I couldn’t deny that this world is a form of life, we must come to realize that “life” goes beyond the limited and frequently deceptive five senses. Perhaps the proper place to start is in “The Beginning.” Let’s consider what wisdom was written in Genesis concerning this topic.

GE 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2] Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

GE 1:3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4] God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

I think it’s important not to attempt to make the Bible into a science book. It is not. What we should draw from the Bible is its wisdom that is often times hidden in symbolism. The first words of the Bible read, “In the beginning God…” We must ask ourselves what is before God? Given our concepts of God, we must say that nothing is before God. God is before all things. So before the creation of “life” there was God and only God.

God created the heavens and the earth which is to say that God created all that is seen (earthly, physical things) and unseen (spiritual things). We read that the “earth” was formless or void. It wasn’t there as we know it. God “speaks,” and it happens. This idea will quickly bring us to what I am seeing as the apex of life itself- the Word of God.

In the first chapter of Genesis, we read that God created everything. Then in the second chapter we read that the “LORD God” made these things appear. Is there a difference between God and LORD God? Yes and no. Think of it this way. God of chapter one is the Father, the Master Architect while the LORD God is the WORD, the Son, the Carpenter that builds the design in chapter two. God is the Cause. The LORD God is the direct Effect. God gave birth to the Word (idea, thought, expression) and the Word (LORD God) manifested these things according to the will of the Father. So you see the “LORD God” is the Word, the Son, the Christ that manifested our universe. The Word (our LORD God) makes God known. Just as a cause is known by its effect, so is God revealed by Christ. To further this point, let’s go to one of Paul’s revelations concerning Christ who is the Word of God.

COL 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16] For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17] He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

This is one of the more powerful and revealing passages in Paul’s letters concerning who Christ is and what Christ’s purpose is. Let’s take this verse by verse.

15) “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”

See how this parallels the wisdom of Genesis? God is invisible, but Christ manifests God’s Image through all creation including, of course, our visible universe. Christ, the Word of God, is called “firstborn” because Christ is the first, last and only substance that can come from God. God is the Cause and Christ is His only Effect. God gives birth to His Word which is the LORD God of the Old Testament, who is the same Christ seen as Jesus, who is the Savior of the World! In turn, God’s Word gives birth to EVERYTHING else according to God’s plan.

16] For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

Again we see how this completely harmonizes with Genesis. We see that Christ has created everything be it seen (on earth) or unseen (in heaven). Not only does Paul use this same ideology as in Genesis, but he is clear to say that Christ (LORD God) is our creator and not directly the Father (God). Furthermore, EVERYTHING was created BY Him and FOR Him! This unyielding and uncompromising truth must be fully accepted and understood because grasping this will unlock the mystery of our existence! When it says “everything,” this includes our pain and suffering; this includes the devil; this includes all things seen or unseen. EVERYTHING has been created by our LORD God (Christ) for a purpose given by God the Father.

17) He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Christ is before all things that have been created because He is the Creator! “In him ALL things hold together” is a short statement, but whose wonderful value may go unnoticed. I take this statement very literally yet how many have really consider its depth? Christ is holding the universe together as I write! Christ is holding every single atom together! Christ is holding my body, my mind and my spirit together so that I may experience my life as human. Christ is all the energy of all things. Do you see that nothing has existence and meaning without Christ creating it and then holding it together? This truth reaches from the planets that spin about the stars to the electrons that spin about the atoms. Every cell of my intricately designed body is built and sustained by the LORD God – not for me, but for HIM! Christ is behind it all and sustaining it all for His very own purpose, which is from God.

HEB 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.

Again this all harmonizes with the wisdom found in Genesis. This is the Word of God in action. In the beginning was nothing, a void. Out of God came God’s Word, which is God. The Word is the God of our creation. Consider this passage from Isaiah.

ISA 55:11 so is my Word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Science tells us that there was a “big bang,” but so does the Bible as I see it. Truth points to TRUTH, so it doesn’t matter where it has been uncovered or discovered. The truth of science will ALWAYS support the Truth of God and His creation. So it is becoming harder and harder for some to deny that there was a moment when our universe and time began- the big bang. From a Biblical perspective this is the moment when the Word of God came out into the void. In science it is when an enormous explosion of light (energy) came out of a singular point in the universe. Time, space and matter were manifested in an instant. The Big Bang is God speaking! God’s Word is moving out into the void- creating all the way. We read that the Word of God (Christ) is filling all of creation.

EPH 4:10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.

EPH 1:10 to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment–to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.

The Word goes out with a purpose that must be fulfilled. Another passage speaking of the Word is very familiar to Christians and is found in John’s Gospel.

JN 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2] He was with God in the beginning.

JN 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4] In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

Again, we must look for the deeper, spiritual significance of what is said here. Our understanding must harmonize with all that we have understood so far. While there is much here to digest, I especially like the truth that the Word (Christ) is the life and light of every man that comes into the world (JN 1:9). This is an important revelation that we must come to realize – Christ is our only True Life. Christ is everyone’s and everything’s true life whether they know it or not.

ACT 17:28 `For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, `We are his offspring.’

COL 3:3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4] When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Also we must understand that we “come into” this world. This world is not our true home no more than our bodies represent our true life. We live in this world just as we live in our bodies. They are vehicles to take us somewhere else. In short, we are here to learn not to stay.

Before I go too far, I must bring something to light. The passage in John’s Gospel may or may not have been written by John, but one thing is more certain. The essential message of this passage is found nearly word for word in an ancient Hindu writing called the Vedas which was likely written 3000 years before the Gospel of John. Here is what was written in it:


[In the beginning was Prajapathi-the Brahman-the GOD]


[with whom was the word]


[and the word was verily the supreme Brahman-the God]

Do you suppose this is just a coincidence? Some theologians argue whether John really wrote the Gospel attributed to him, which could be said of all the gospels. Clearly from the beginning of John and all throughout the book we are given a more “Eastern” description of Christ Jesus. Some have speculated that Jesus traveled to the East before his ministry began at the age of 30. Perhaps he did and then instructed John in this way. Whatever the reason, the fact of this striking similarity between the Gospel and the Vedas should not be ignored. It should rather enlighten our minds by showing the fact that no single religion has a market on the Truth. Christ nor the Truth is bound by man’s religious lines. It is free and available to ALL who seek it. God gives good gifts to all His children no matter where they have landed in the sea of religions.

So from all of this we should see that life, as many know it, began by the will of God through his Word which is God’s expression of Himself. We understand that God is one with His Word- His Son. So then why did God send His Son out into the void? Simply put, God is expressing Himself in Christ- building an image of Himself.

Let me take just a moment to say that I don’t see God as a “He” nor a “She.” I will use terms like He, Him or Father, but God is all of this and more. God is as much a Mother as a Father. One might be able to see that God and his Word are one like a husband and wife are one. Eve came out of Adam just as the Word has come out of God. When speaking of the Word, it should be known that this is “Logos” in Greek. Logos means “expression.” When we speak a word, we express our thoughts and will, so it is with God I suppose. Indeed, God sent out His Logos to express Himself- to create His own image, but are we not created “in the image and likeness of God?” What does this mean to be “created in the image of God?” Christ is the true Image of God, not man. Man was created in the Image which is Christ. Christ is our LORD God, and in Him we are created. This makes perfect harmony and sense building on what we have covered already. Remember the many passages telling us that our life is in Christ? The Word or Logos was sent out into the void (nothingness) to create God’s true Image. Recall Paul’s revelation again…

COL 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16] For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17] He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

This is such a powerful passage that we must revisit it. While many Christians are convinced that this is speaking of the man, Jesus, we must come to understand that this speaks of Christ – the Eternal, Anointed Jesus. The man Jesus wasn’t “before all things” nor does he “hold all things together.” The eternal Christ Jesus does! Christ is the ONLY Son of God, the Logos, the Word. Jesus was the man chosen to show the world Christ. Jesus became Christ by surrendering his will, his mind, his strength, his body for God’s will and purpose. In other words, Jesus died for us long before he went to the cross. Jesus, the man, gave up his earthly nature and will for his true, higher nature which is Christ. Jesus was the man who found the treasure (Christ) in the field (humanity) and sold all he had to buy (save) that field (humanity). I know this may be hard to accept given traditional Christian doctrine, but we must come to see who Christ is and how Jesus was chosen to reveal Him. The “Day of the Lord” will come to all of us – the day when we will realize that Jesus was exactly like us and we are to become exactly like he is – that is Christ!

JN 14:20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

We are told most emphatically by Paul that “Christ is all and in all” (COL 3:11). Jesus (speaking as Christ) said that if we do something to the least of these, we do it to Him (Christ). Paul also said that he (Paul) no longer lived, but that Christ was now living in place of Paul (GAL 2:20). In other words, if we can peel back the natural layers of every man, we will see Christ- the only Son of God! This is the truth of who we are, and Jesus showed us the Truth, the Way and the Life! Christ said, “before Abraham was born, I am.” Christ, the Word of God, has been working the Father’s will since day one!  


Now the term “evolution” is sure to scare some away, but it shouldn’t. Evolution simply means “change with time.” Because of ignorance and fear, many Christians find this subject to be akin to antichrist thinking. They feel accepting evolution destroys the God of the Bible when, in fact, it supports the whole purpose of Christ. Evolution is just a word describing change (positive), or advancement of something according to the forces acting upon an environment. Of course, the Force doing the acting is Christ, the Word of God. As we have seen, God is the Cause while the Word creates the Effect. Similarly, we might have a thought, but until spoken it is not known.

In an attempt to calm some fears concerning the word “evolution,” understand that I am not as concerned with our physical evolution as I am with our spiritual evolution. Yes, it is all connected like a shadow follows the reality above it. This is to say that all physical truth shadows the higher, spiritual truth above it. Consider something Paul wrote.

2 COR 3:16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17] Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18] And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Now Paul doesn’t use the word evolution, but he certainly could have! He says when we turn to Christ (Spirit) we are being transformed with ever-increasing glory! This sounds like an evolution! Thanks be to God that we are changing! Still, some scoffers may say why change – to what end? The end is perfection, and the end of us is Christ! We are called to “be perfect” like our Father. We are called to be “coheirs” with Christ. This may shock some, but we are to become the fullness of God which is Christ.

EPH 3:19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

EPH 4:13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

God is in us and won’t stop until He is us. His very nature and being are growing in us! This, my friend, is our spiritual evolution in a nutshell! Also notice how Paul dropped in the word “knowledge” again. We cannot avoid knowledge if we are to be saved. We need to KNOW we are Christ! We are being filled, changed, and evolved into God’s image which is Christ. Looking in the mirror, it may be hard for some to see or believe they are Christ (just like Jesus). With natural eyes we will see the sinful man looking back at us. With pure hearts, we will see the face of God. Can one see the beauty of the butterfly hidden in the darkness of the cocoon? We can not know what we can not see. This is why our minds must be enlightened, so we can see and go beyond our senses. We must strip away our old nature that veils Christ within us.

We must come to understand that our physical world and existence are like shadows. While shadows are temporary and not ultimately real, they do represent a higher reality. Consider that dark shadow we cast on a sunny day. It gives us an idea, or image of what we look like, but depending on our alignment with the Sun this shadow may not be an accurate image. A better alignment with the light source assures a more accurate shadow which represents the true image. This is also true in this world as we align with Christ who is the Light. Jesus and Paul spoke of this dark, shadowy world often. In fact, this is why Jesus Christ came into the world- to be a LIGHT for us living in the darkness!

LK 1:77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, 78] because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven 79] to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

MT 4:16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”

It is important to understand what “light” and “darkness” are spiritually speaking. Well, we know Light makes things seen and known. In Luke 1:77 we read that Christ came to “give his people the knowledge of salvation.” Light is the knowledge that destroys the ignorance and deception in our minds that is the darkness. As the Light increases, the shadows fade as if they were never really there. Mankind has been living in this dark world below while a higher reality awaits those called to Christ.

COL 2:17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

HEB 10:1 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming not the realities themselves.

Our world has its natural laws, purpose and temporary reality, but we must come to see that above this world (existence) is a higher world, or dimension that is often referred to as “heaven.” So what does all this talk of shadows and light have to do with our spiritual evolution? Good question! You see our spiritual evolution is the higher reality, but it has been casting a shadow along the way – our physical evolution.

While many Christians continue to deny the fact of evolution of life-forms on planet Earth, some are coming to accept that all truths point to Truth (God). This certainly includes the scientific truth of evolution. Physical evolution is like the shadow of the spiritual evolution (transformation) in Christ. Mankind, on the surface, is an image of an Image (Christ), but behind the veil of the flesh and the carnal mind mankind is Christ who is the only image of God.

Shadows are a manifestation that is only real to us as long as the darkness remains. In the darkness, we all have been deceived. We THINK we see a snake, but when the light comes on, it is only a rope. Our minds operate in the same way. The Light comes to remove the darkness thereby revealing what is real.

We read in the Bible that our physical world will pass away at the end. Like our bodies made of dust, the earth and universe were created to serve a purpose within the framework of time. Once they have served their purpose, they will disappear just as shadows vanish with increasing Light. Consider that the only way for a man not to cast a shadow is to become the Light himself! This is exactly what Jesus Christ did! He is the Light that lights every man that comes into the world. Even so, Christ our Light may not be seen coming from us yet.

LK 11:35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36] Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.

If our Light is dark, then we don’t see who we really are, but instead we see that sinful man who is but the shadow of what is real. In our dark world, it is easier to see the shadows, but even the shadows tell us about what is real, so it is with the process of evolution.

The universe has been evolving since the Word went out from God. Fear continues to keep many from accepting the fossil records proving our earth’s evolutionary journey. These who deny such truths are like the religious (Christian) men who denied Galileo’s claim that the earth revolved around the sun. Like Paul, Galileo was imprisoned for believing and preaching the truth. The crux of the problem is that many are afraid to change their image of God. All our false images of God are idols. Our God does not change, but thankfully our image of God does! Our image of what God is doing keeps getting clearer and clearer. If it were not so, then we would still be worshiping the Greek gods or sacrificing lambs in the Temple. It seems that many leaders in Christianity have always acted threatened by the truth of science. Men create doctrines, but God reveals the truth. God didn’t create something that denies Himself!

ROM 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature -have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.

It has been estimated by the “Galileos” of our day that the universe is between 6 and 12 billion years old. The Earth as an entity is approximately 4 billion years old. Man has been walking (on two feet) for perhaps 4 million years on this very same Earth. These numbers do not change God or Genesis, but they must change our self conceived concepts about creation! The evidence that supports a transformation (evolution) of life is overwhelming. Higher and higher life-forms have emerged from the lower ones in a systematic way. Let’s consider how this transformation or evolution of our Earth is actually supported in the Bible.

According to Genesis, before creation there was void and then there was Light. According to science, there was nothing and then the “Big Bang” of energy (light). According to Genesis, God created the heavens and the earth, then the plants, then the fish, then the animals and finally man. According to evolution, first came the stars and planets including the Earth. Then it cooled; then it had waters; then it had plant life in the waters; then it had animal life; then it had land animals; then it had “smarter” land animals. Finally the pinnacle of God’s evolution was created on the last working day – MAN!

For a book written thousands of years ago, Genesis has unsurpassed wisdom. It could almost pass as a science book! Each “day” in Genesis is simply another chapter of evolution on earth ending with God’s final creation. Man was God’s very last creation. In science, Homo Sapiens have just come on the scene in the very last frame of a very long movie. The harmony of truths is there for those with the eyes to see it and the courage to accept it.

Where some have trouble accepting evolution is in the time dilemma. They believe that God created the universe in six literal days and man in one. This is where ideas and concepts taught by men must be surrendered for that which the Spirit of Truth shows us. We must let go of what we think a “day” is in our mind. We must let go of what it means to make man from the dust. Do some still believe that it was – POOF! Then man appeared? Science and evolution supports the idea that God created man from dust. You see, God created the dust that created the Earth that created the life that created man. Are some coming to see that Christ is the very power behind this evolution according to God’s will? Remember that Christ went out into the void to create and be God’s image. Christ went to work to build an Image and Kingdom. Jesus realized that he was indeed Christ and in all things!

Gospel of Thomas 77. Jesus said, “I am the light that is over all things. I am all: from me all came forth, and to me all attained. Split a piece of wood; I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there.

In order to create an image, Christ the Carpenter of all life first had to create the building blocks from scratch. In other words, Christ started at the lowest level of existence – the physical world. Who truly knows how many worlds, or “heavens” there are above this one? Paul spoke of the third heaven. Yet, have we not read that this world is God’s footstool?

ISA 66:1 This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?

1 COR 15:46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47] The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven.

The natural is created to be the ladder for the spiritual. The Word was sent out into the void to begin creation of the FOOTSTOOL for God. Step by step, Christ is building God a kingdom! In that emptiness, the Son began the work of the Father. Creation began on the lowest plane – the physical manifestation of life. The creation of atoms was the foundation for the creation of elements. Elements went on to create minerals; minerals went on to create life; life through the Holy Spirit gave rise to man. It doesn’t end there! Man will give rise (resurrection) to Christ! Again remember the physical evolution we can see is like a shadow. This evolution of life is simply a vehicle for the higher reality of our spiritual evolution. This world represents only the ladder that we are climbing to another world. The physical world was created and evolves so that consciousness could evolve.  


So what do I mean by “consciousness?” Well, I am speaking about an awareness of existence and environment. Consciousness allows us to go beyond our known self and into the environment- to interact and change. Consciousness is the result of Spirit in motion. Consciousness is life realized. Everything has a level of consciousness, so everything is alive by the power of Holy Spirit of God.

1 TIM 6:13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything.

While many still believe that God is found in churches, one day after the shadows are gone we will see that God is all in all. There is a direct relationship between Spirit, consciousness and matter. The Spirit lives and operates in consciousness. Consciousness lives and operates in matter. In turn, matter lives, moves and has its being in Spirit so that the cycle is complete. More evolved forms of matter (such as animals) house the higher levels of consciousness within them. Our extremely sophisticated bodies and brains (matter) have provided the vehicle, or ladder for our consciousness to climb.

GEN 28:12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

The Spirit empowers consciousness and causes it to grow – to move up the ladder. This is how we get to heaven – within our level of consciousness. Being Christ-conscious, Jesus knew what mankind needed and how to lead them. He was going ahead of us into that higher state of being to help us raise our consciousness.

JN 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

God’s house is God’s temple, which is us and all things. Collectively we can be thought of as the “house of God” and individually we can be thought of as “rooms.” Christ is the Builder who is preparing a place for us in that higher level of consciousness, which we call heaven. Jesus left the earthly plane, so that he could be EVERYWHERE and connected to EVERYTHING. Christ Jesus is available to all and is in all. He is working, preparing and building for the purpose of raising our level of consciousness so that we can be where HE IS.

So, where does consciousness (awareness) begin? It begins in the beginning. At the moment the physical world manifested in the void, consciousness was born. The very first atoms created by and for Christ where given consciousness. Am I saying that atoms are alive? Yes, most definitely! In a very real sense, the smallest form of matter is alive. Because of man’s ignorance and arrogance, we might ask what could they possibly be conscious of? Well, understand that they have their world and we have ours. “Realities” are relative to consciousness.

In many ways, man seems to look down upon all the lesser forms of life. We give animals of higher intelligence more worth and treat them with more dignity than those lower forms. This is even true of our fellow man. Within the animal kingdom, we do all we can to save a whale from the ice, but would we do the same for the clam? Why not? Dogs are treated with the nearly the same respect and laws as humans, but what about goldfish? Does anyone care if we flush a live fish down the toilet? Are we prosecuted under man’s law? No. Most of mankind equates something’s worth according to its intelligence, which is not far from the truth. Intelligence is certainly related to consciousness. Nevertheless, we must come to see that even the atom or a rock is alive. All matter, including seemingly non-animated objects, represents the Word expressing God. I see it, and the prophets have declared it!

ROM 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature -have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Let us consider the life of that lowly atom for just a moment. One of the characteristics of life, as we often define it, is movement. At the atomic level, there is lightning fast motion as electrons move at the speed of light around atoms. So indeed the motion is there, but unperceived within our natural sight. An inherent flaw in man’s thinking is often denying the existence of what he can’t see! Another sign of life is the ability to react to environment. No one would argue that plants are alive because they change according to environment. Well, this is certainly true of the atom as well as it senses its surroundings with those roving electrons. It has an awareness (consciousness) and knows if there are other atoms around it. On a microscopic level, it lives and interacts in its environment- its world. They often even undergo change while “communicating” with other atoms. So even those first tiny atoms at the dawn of time had a level of consciousness. Atoms may have been first, but these atoms where only the building blocks for the Builder to create higher and higher forms of life.

According to God’s plan of evolution, the atoms interacted with each other and celestial forces to form elements. Then elements kept growing, evolving to form the planets and stars. After the planets and stars were in place, an even higher level of consciousness was born – single celled organisms. These small creatures marked a level of existence beyond anything that had manifested itself yet. Imagine the quantum jump in consciousness from atom to a singled-celled organism! Perhaps some cannot grasp the significance of this step in evolution, but neither can they fathom man rising into Christ-consciousness. So, the process of evolution continued in the fabric of time all the while being fueled and purposed by the Holy Spirit through Christ.

When God said let there be plants, the Word manifested plants by building upon what He had already created through the process of evolution. God said let there be animals, and the Word created animals. After billions of years of building the framework for consciousness, our LORD God was ready to place man on the earth. Evolution requires that nature build itself up. Similarly, the idea of consciousness building upon itself is key to God’s plan.

Some may believe that the LORD God created man like magic. They read that LORD God took the dust and breathed His Spirit into it to FORM man. Some may imagine God to be this gray-haired, old man who picked up some dust and actually breathed upon it to create man. Let us remember and believe that God (Father, Son or Holy Ghost) is always Spirit. While it is true that man was made out of dust that dust is made out of those very same atoms that were manifested in the Beginning! Those atoms (dust) are used to FORM all things during the expanse of billions of year in time and not with magic. So, by changing our perspective we can better see how the truth of science supports the Truth of God. It can be no other way.

Man, it seems, is the apex of God’s creation on earth- the final chapter of creation on earth. This is not a mistake or a coincidence, but the purpose of creation. Man is said to be made in God’s image. This makes perfect sense since Christ is the image of God, and we are made in Christ. In a lower (physical) sense, man is mortal. That is our bodies are made of dust, and it returns to dust.

ISA 40:7 The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass.


ROM 8:10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Is Christ in you? Most certainly! Don’t you know Christ is our treasure we sell everything for, the great mystery of our existence, the hope of our glory! We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. No! More accurately, we are spiritual beings on a human journey! For more on this topic, this article may be of some help What is Man?

If you can accept that we are Spirit then also accept that our Spirit has traveled the whole Path of creation. In other words, as Spirit, we have lived through all the lower forms of life and have evolved into our current state of consciousness by being them first! The reason this may sound preposterous to some is because some have an identity problem. Some don’t know who we are!

PS 82:6 “I said, You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.'”

2 COR 5:1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Paul most definitely knew who we are! Ultimately, we will come to realize that we are Spirit from God and not these bodies that serve as TENTS! This is an area where understanding seems clouded. Many find their identity by looking at their body. Are we the cars we drive? Then why are we the bodies we live in? They are both just VEHICLES to move about this world. If we lose the lower half of our body in an accident, are we still the same person? The real person we are can not be seen with natural eyes! The real you is not black or white; not American or Chinese; not even male or female! The REAL YOU is Christ! We are all one in Christ! This is why we must love each other as ourselves because they are!

GAL 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Accepting that we are Spirit, will help us see that we have been moving through God’s plan of evolution taking on different forms and bodies. Yes, we reincarnate because we are Spirit that cannot die but only change forms. If God is Spirit and we are children of God, then we are SPIRIT! What does it mean to be “born of the Spirit?”

JN 3:5 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6] Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

So, when did God give birth to your Spirit? Did your Spirit from God come into existence because of your flesh body that was born? Jesus says that flesh give birth to flesh. So if we be God’s children, we are and have always been Spirit.

Jeremiah said God knew him before he was in the womb. Jesus said that the Spirit gives life and the flesh counts for nothing. Yes, we are Spirit, but not until we reach Christ-consciousness will we fully realize this. As Spirit beings, we have been traveling through space and time being all that we can be! Our Spirit has been moving through different life forms like a wave of energy. Are we not light? During our journey, our bodily form and consciousness have been evolving higher and higher up the ladder created before us. We see this very process as we look behind at the wake of creatures within the animal kingdom.

In spite of overwhelming evidence that the present form of man has come from the ape family, many still resist to accept it. Again, remember, we are SPIRIT that have been given a body and mind to use as tools. These tools are used by the Spirit to know higher and higher levels of consciousness. When it is said we are made in God’s likeness this is not to say our bodies, but rather our Spirit. All animals have the Spirit from God, which is their “breath.”

ECC 3:21 Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”

This is a very intriguing question, but let’s consider some of the different levels of consciousness within the animal kingdom.

There are fish that seem to live mostly by instinct – eat and reproduce. They are considered one of the lower forms of animals because of their level of intelligence, which is akin to consciousness. Above them literally and consciously are the birds of the air. They are capable of more than instinctual actions it seems. They can learn tricks and repeat human words. Beyond birds, we could look at dogs. Dogs seem to go beyond other animals like fish and express emotion- a sign of higher consciousness. As consciousness evolves so do the ways we can express who we are. Our most inner desire is to express God our true nature and life! This is an important point concerning the climb of consciousness.

Next, consider the ape family. Apes are among the few animals of the earth that are “self” aware. They along with dolphins and humans can look in a mirror and come to realize that it is a reflection of themselves (Note- humans can go beyond being the body in the mirror!). Studies have shown that apes and dolphins, after time, will realize that what they see in the mirror is just themselves. Some apes have even began to use the reflection as a tool to clean themselves. Even their relative, the monkey cannot grasp this reality. In studies, the monkey would always see its reflection as another monkey.

This is significant – the ability to become “self aware.” We must accept that there is a relatively small difference between humans and apes – we are most definitely cousins. Genetically speaking, the human gene structure is 96%-99% identical to that of the chimpanzee’s depending on the way it is measured. I challenge anyone to go to the zoo and watch the apes for an afternoon. You will see manlike behavior in them. You will see yourself in them. You may come to see that the ape follows us along the Path. Still, what we see in their animal behavior is what we are wanting to overcome. We are leaving the animal kingdom for a higher Kingdom because our consciousness powered by the Spirit is calling us out of this world of the flesh.

COL 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Yes, those who hear the Call know they must die. That is their old, animal nature because a more Godlike nature is evolving. Deep and hidden in Christ-consciousness is great wisdom from living eons and eons through all of life. All of life has been our ladder to get where we are now. I know this may all sound unbelievable, but consider something Jesus said about those sparrows that perish.

LK 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7] Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

You see EVERYTHING God has created has worth because God’s very own life is what fuels all things! God doesn’t give life in vain! Jesus didn’t say that only man has a connection with God. Jesus didn’t say that the sparrow has no worth to God. He simply said that man is worth more than many sparrows. This is to say that man’s consciousness is higher and therefore greater in value to the ultimate purpose of God. Man, the pinnacle of creation, is greater because man is to make the quantum leap from self-consciousness into Christ-consciousness.

COL 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3] For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4] When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Our flesh is not our life! Christ is our life! God created all the Earth for man. In the same way, all of mankind was created for God! This is our purpose! You see God is building a Kingdom – a House – a place to live and be known! Man is now at the top of this world and must jump off and fly to the next. Yes, we are developing the “wings” to fly. We are given CHRIST-consciousness after we have learned all the lessons of this life – after we have learned to love as God loves! Christ-consciousness is exactly the treasure that Jesus found, and did he ever fly! This is our uniqueness and gift given from God. Being human is just that last phase until we become Christ (which means Anointed). It is not that we (Spirit) are changing, but that our awareness of who we are is! Our old identity (self) is passing away while our true identity (new self) is coming into to view!

COL 3:9 Since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10] and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11] Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

COL 1:27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

EPH 4:12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13] until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

I think many students of the Bible tend to overlook the powerful essence of what Paul is telling us. We are becoming Christ which by definition is the Image of God, or Body of God if you rather. Our old self must die and our new (higher) self is born. We are becoming new creations! We are changing forms again! So is it really so hard to believe we were once something other than human? If we are going beyond this human flesh, then it figures we have also moved up into it. This world is our home until we outgrow it. Christ Jesus didn’t consider this world his home because he came to realize that he was SPIRIT and not flesh.

JN 8:23 But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

Jesus being Christ was in that higher state of consciousness- “from above.” We will all come to feel that we are not from this world because we will realize that we are spiritual children of God and not bodies of flesh. In his state of consciousness, Jesus reigned over the world below. He could calm the wind and waves. He could turn water into wine. He could control this world as one might have control over a dream. When Christ becomes our Reality and we have overcome the world, then our life here is but a dream. In that dream, we have no fear, no anxiety and no doubt. We could tell a mountain to move and it would.

MT 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Nothing will be impossible for us! Don’t you see? God through Christ is raising us up into His fullness! The only One who can do all things is God.

MT 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

What powerful words from Jesus! Nothing will be impossible for us because we will be Christ- the Body of God! Again recall that ALL things are by and for Christ who is the Builder of our world and faith. Christ is working to subdue all of creation (especially mankind) under one head- one consciousness.

EPH 1:10 to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.

In Eastern religions they speak of becoming One with the universe. This is exactly what Paul teaches here and all throughout his letters. Christ is becoming LORD of all which means one consciousness and will. If one looks past the “letter” and into the “spirit” of all of man’s religions, he will find the common truths.

A common Christian practice is to thank God for the physical food He provides on our tables. This inner compulsion is well founded, but do we fully understand that in a higher sense God is feeding Himself? You see it is the very Spirit of God that has willed our food to grow to feed all the other creatures. God created the atom for the mineral, the mineral for the plant, the plant for the creatures, the creatures for man, and man FOR GOD! We are not our own! It goes full circle. While thanking God for the food, also thank Him for the air that you breathe. It has all been created for YOU, so that you could walk the Path for God.

Even looking at these mortal bodies we see God’s presence and design. Our bodies are made up of billions of cells that are each made up of billions of atoms which all work together according to the will and purpose of God. Of course that purpose is to promote consciousness in all His creation. Many will say that God is omnipresent, but I don’t think they truly believe or understand how this is possible. It is possible and true because God is in everything. Paul said that after Christ subdues His creation then he hands Himself over to God. We surrender our self to Christ as He does to God!

1 COR 15:28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

Wait a minute here! God is going to be all in all? Isn’t God eternal and unchanging? Then God must be all in all right now. Yes, He is! Understand that in the highest sense God (Spirit) is not changing, but relative consciousness is. Mankind is reaching beyond self-consciousness and ego to Christ-consciousness. When this world is no longer our home and we hate our life, this means that we are ready to let go of this old nature like a seed lets go of the hull once it has sprouted. Being “born of God” means that we have become aware that we are SPIRIT! Being born of God means our minds can finally let go of fear, ignorance, deception and death that we thought were so real.

So we should understand that there are levels of consciousness that lead us to experience different, or relative realities. An ant has a very different reality than does the man who accidentally steps on it. The man had no awareness of the ant nor did the ant know about the man who ended its life. In a sense they are in two different worlds and so it is with man and God.

ISA 55:9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

For man to reach “God” we must go through Christ. We came from God through Christ and we return to God through Christ.

1 TIM 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

HEB 9:15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance

JN 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

There is a gap in consciousness between being human and being God, which is being Christ. Each of these can be thought of as a level of consciousness. We can only experience and know those levels directly above and below us. In the case of man, his mind can reach upwards to Christ or downwards to the flesh. Yet, the mind of man cannot know God, the Father directly. The only way to know God is to be Christ (Anointed) as Jesus is and have the “mind of Christ.” Being Christ, Jesus was aware of and could speak to either man or God.

Some may wonder about the prophets of the Old Testaments. Didn’t they have an awareness of God? Yes, but their relationship was with the LORD God, who is Christ, the Word of God. This is clearly seen as they often speak of the “Word of the Lord” coming to them. Also consider what is said here.

1 PET 1:10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11] trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

So these spiritual pioneers were inspired, taught and led by Christ within them! Our “God” who is calling us higher is Christ. Christ is above us in a higher reality. We can think of it as three different worlds that of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are in the physical world where our “helper” is the Holy Spirit. Here we are the servants of God, but in Christ we are the Sons of God. We come to know the Father only when we are the Son. So it goes to figure that God the Father doesn’t know us until we are in Christ. This can be seen in a passage spoken by Christ Jesus. In this passage, Christ says God the Father, the “Owner of the house,” will not know those standing outside.

LK 13:27 “But he will reply, I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’

What! God doesn’t know something! For those of you that thought God was omniscient, think again! You see God doesn’t know everything. God, the Father, is separated from sin and the sinner. This is how our sins are forgiven, yes even FORGOTTEN by God! In Christ, who we WERE is gone! We are sinless – the perfect image of God! The Father doesn’t see us as we were in this dream world, but as we are in His Reality.

Only through Christ can God know man or man know God. In our current form, we are Christ’s creation and His Holy Spirit is the life within us and everything. You could say we are an image of The Image. Christ is the Image of God, but we are the image of Christ until we are Christ. To know the Father’s will, we must first come into Christ-consciousness. To have the faith and power to do the Father’s will, we must first surrender our will and life over to the LORD. To become real and alive to God, we must first come into Christ. In a sense, we are not “real” to God until we are alive in Christ.

RO 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

“Dead to sin” means that we are no longer conscious of it, but we only know Christ. Paul said that all things are permissible in Christ.

1CO 6:12 “Everything is permissible for me” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me” but I will not be mastered by anything.

We must understand that there is no longer any sin or condemnation in Christ. Even so, we do what is right because it IS beneficial in our spiritual growth – our evolution! We stop sinning because we know and love the LORD! We stop sinning because we are only hurting ourselves when we hurt others! We stop sinning because the joy of Christ is greater than the pleasure of the flesh!

Yes, it is clear that we are evolving spiritually which in turn has been reforming our thoughts of God. You see as our collective consciousness matures, so do our ideas about God. Man’s religions have throughout the ages reflected the collective consciousness of man. Early man lived with much fear it would seem. Loud claps of thunder would mean that one of the gods was angry. Most early religions had many gods – polytheism, but the Jews seemed to be chosen to see a better “image” of God. In their monotheistic minds, God was our Creator and God was One. They were given a clearer vision of the Truth. They were given CHRIST to lead them!

ISA 45:3 I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

ROM 9:5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

Yes, God had chosen these people to receive wisdom to know Him. Again, we read that Christ Himself was the God inspiring and leading all the true prophets. Still, the revelations didn’t stop there. Along comes a man named Jesus who offered an even better image of God – Himself! Jesus showed them the true image of God and many could not accept it. They continued to cling and worship their false images of God, which is a sin. Yes, Jesus became the Christ – the true Son and Image of God. This is also our spiritual destiny according to the purpose of God.

EPH 1:9 And God made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10] to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.

JN 14:20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

That day is the Day of the LORD that will come to us all! Have we come to realize what Jesus did? The profound mystery of Christ in us is still hidden or denied by many. Ironically, man’s consciousness has given him the idea (desire) of being immortal. Yet, to achieve this goal, we must die. We must die to self-consciousness and take on Christ-consciousness. This means we must give up our will and our mind for that of Christ’s. God has only One Son, which is Christ. So if we are to be God’s children, we must first be in that Body of Christ. We are each like a cell in the Body of Christ. Like the cells of our body, each one has its purpose though it may seem relatively small. Yet, within each of our cells is the DNA containing the fullness of the entire body! Do you see the significance of this! Each of us is like a cell in the body of Christ with purpose and the fullness of Christ! Again we see how the physical shadows the spiritual!

Only in Christ is there freedom from sin, pain and death. Yes, the truth is hard to bite off and even harder to swallow, but we seek it just the same. We seek that higher fruit so that we can be higher – closer to God. We do this because God in us is leading us back to God so that God may be known as all in all.


Any “reality” is relative to consciousness. That might sound a bit odd, but “life” as we know it depends on what we know. The physical world of the senses seems like the only real world, that is, until another one is shown to us. This is simply a function of awareness, or consciousness. This is why Jesus said this world was not his home because he was ABOVE this plane of existence. He knew his life did not depend on the state of this physical world nor his physical body. This world seems very real to us now, but it will pass away as if it never was.

LK 21:33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

1 JN 2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

2 COR 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Jesus says this world will pass away. It is like a manifested shadow that lives as long as darkness lives. Paul is telling us to take our minds (consciousness) higher into the spiritual things and out of this lower realm. John tells us that the man who does God’s will lives forever. Without exception, the only One who knows and can do the Father’s will is Christ. We must become Christ, which is to be taken into the Body of Christ. We must lose our lower mind and have the mind of Christ.

So, our current physical reality and carnal nature are passing away with time, but what of consciousness? Consciousness is the result of Spirit and matter interacting. It is never really lost. In the deepest sense, who we are is always the same, but realization of who we are is always in change. This is because consciousness is in eternal motion- ever evolving to carry the Spirit. Spirit resides and operates through consciousness. Consciousness resides and operates through matter. Matter resides and operates through the Spirit. In this way the Cycle of Life is complete.

If we look more closely at this relationship as it concerns man, we see the same cycle and hierarchy established. Our Spirit lives within our consciousness. Our consciousness (mind) lives within our matter (body). Then our body lives within the Spirit. Similarly, there is this same order in the Kingdom of God, which is in us. For harmony to be achieved, the body should submit to the mind while the mind submits to the Spirit. Consider something that Paul says about “women” being saved.

1 TIM 2:14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women will be saved through childbearing if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

Do some really believe that women can only be “saved” by having children? What foolishness! Let’s consider a higher, more spiritual meaning of “women being saved.” What I understand this to mean is that the mind (soul) of man is saved by giving birth to Christ. While it is possible that Paul was a sexist who thought women to be inferior, I would rather take the high road in this matter – that is the spiritual road. You see “soul” is PSUCHE in Greek and is feminine in Hebrew and Greek while the Spirit is considered to be masculine. Man lives on three different levels. Our triad existence is in our body, soul and Spirit.

1 TH 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The higher entity is always considered to be male in relationship, and the lower is the female entity. Like Eve, the female entity of our being is to be the helper. The body is for the soul (mind, consciousness); the soul is for the Spirit. The Spirit is where the body has its being as it serves it unconditionally. Within the spirit/soul (male/female) relationship, consider something else Paul says.

1 COR 14:34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.

Yes, the soul (mind) should remain silent in the presence of the Spirit. This makes perfect sense. Perhaps Paul’s words and meaning were twisted by someone after he wrote them. It is true the Law does say this, but didn’t Paul say the Law was simply a shadow and not the reality? So then what is the reality? In Christ, we know there is no male or female, so Paul must have been misunderstood here. What I see is that the SOUL (psyche, mind) should be submissive to the SPIRIT. This makes perfect sense.

We also read that we are the bride and Christ is the Bridegroom. Not only does this same relationship apply, but remember that the “two shall become one” is also fulfilled with man and Christ! When this spiritual relationship is established, our mind is submissive to Christ. Jesus said, “not my will, but yours be done.” This is how we surrender our false self- the will of the ego. This is how we overcome the desires of our flesh by placing our consciousness in Christ’s command.

JN 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28] I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.

Yes, spiritual harmony is obtained when the Spirit rules over the mind that, in turn, rules over the body. In this way God’s Kingdom will come to earth. God has created a Way to penetrate into the darkest places. Even in the darkness of space there is light, so long as there is something to catch the light. Yes, light (energy) must have something to reflect off of- an image! Otherwise, it remains unknown. The Spirit works in the same manner as it uses matter to reflect God’s glory. Because of this, the relationship between consciousness and matter goes even deeper I believe. It has occurred to me that there is an inverse relationship between these two “aspects” of life.

At the Moment before the Beginning, Consciousness was all in all and matter was nothing in nothing- it was void. At this moment which can be called “here and now,” total clarity and Consciousness are known, but so also are total obscurity and oblivion. They are one in the same just as the Alpha is the Omega. If we could gain everything, we would have nothing. This paradox of sorts is important in the cycle of Life (Consciousness). So the “Beginning” in Genesis could just as correctly be called the “Ending” because they are the same Moment. Around this Moment is an eternal cycle of consciousness and matter. I believe as one increases the other decreases thereby creating an inverse relationship. Let me explain.

In the Beginning, Consciousness through the Spirit was completely transformed, or manifested into matter. Consciousness was completely poured out into the void to begin again. It begins at a level just above nothing. All the Consciousness of the universe became all the matter of the universe. In other words, God emptied Himself into the void through His Word. As a result, matter was spread out into that vastness of the void to fill it. By the power of the Holy Spirit, matter is used as a platform to regain consciousness- to begin again the eternal cycle. We could then say that the cycle of Life is more like a sleep cycle of God. Some will say that God sleeping is absurd! Is it?

GE 2:2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

This passage, by the way, is speaking of God the Father and not our LORD God. So it is conceivable that in some sort of way God can rest (sleep) though we may have no earthly idea exactly what this is. We read that God rested after he had finished His work, but also remember that nothing had yet been done- nothing had been formed. God gives Himself to the Word; then the Word gives Himself to us. This complete surrender of Self is the essence of Love. It is God’s nature to give Himself unconditionally. Still, let’s consider more about the relationship between matter and consciousness.

One could logically assume that in the Beginning of the universe (matter) there were no black holes (sink holes for matter). I believe that as matter is being consumed by black holes, Consciousness is growing. Once the purpose of matter is fulfilled, it vanishes like a dream. Matter is the first platform (ladder) for consciousness, but consciousness is in eternal motion – moving from one level to the other. So at that point when all matter has been consumed by black holes, Consciousness has moved beyond this world of space, matter and time.

I suppose we can only imagine what lies beyond this world. What is beyond this world of space, matter and time? We know that our world is a shadow of what is above, so it is reasonable to say that all we know here has its spiritual equivalents in “heaven”- the world above us. Then space, matter and time are replaced by something of a higher order. This triad is significant because God works and lives through trinities. God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We live in the world of the Holy Spirit and are reaching into the world of the Son. Still above the world of the Son is the world of the Father God. Do these three worlds all have three aspects, or dimensions within them? Some scientists have speculated that there are perhaps 10 dimensions in total. This may be true if each of the three levels of existence has three dimensions just as we have space, matter and time. We would have 3 upon 3 upon 3, which is 9. The final, tenth dimension may be that point of God being all in all- a point where God is absolute Consciousness, but also where Consciousness has again reached absolute oblivion. The eternal cycle of God revolves like everything of His creation. This is the nature of God who is the Spirit- the energy in all things. Energy never dies, but transforms and moves through all of creation with purpose.

We should see that the law of gravity we experience is simply a shadow of a higher Law – the Law of God’s love. Just as black holes are thought to have infinite gravity, so is God’s love “beyond measure.” In the same way that infinite gravity pulls all matter into the black holes, so does God’s love pull all Consciousness back to Himself. Not even light escapes the black holes, nor does anything escape God. This Law above all laws means that God can not lose Himself or deny Himself. God emptied Himself into the void through Christ. Christ emptied Himself into creation and now is being resurrected in us! Nothing can be lost!

2 TIM 2:13 if we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

ISA 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

God’s Word goes out into the void for the purpose of returning again like a breath of knowing- the great I AM. God eternally breathes in and out the Consciousness of the universe with absoluteness. God breathes consciousness like we breath air. Out of the mouth of God comes His life, his one and only Son to be God. When the Son returns from the void – He IS God. This is the way of God. This is the cycle of Life, which is Consciousness. God is all there really is.

ISA 45:22 “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

ISA 46:9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.

God is and everything else isn’t. For this reason, God can only give God. In other words, we experience many gifts of the Holy Spirit, but they all are of God and are God. He has nothing more to give than Himself. While the prodigal son learned by leaving, the other learned by asking. Remember the father told his other son, “all that I have is yours.” So it is with us and God. God holds nothing back from us, but we can only “hold” so much of Him. This is why our consciousness must evolve, so we can hold more of Him! Consciousness is the home of the Spirit – where it lives and operates.

So how does man fit into the cycle of Life? Well, think of it this way. Before a seed can be planted, we must first have the soil prepared. So it is with our earthly existence. Christ is God’s Seed. However, before Christ could be planted, there needed to be suitable field to be sown. The field is mankind! We are the suitable environment for Christ to be planted and mature! No, dogs, dolphins nor apes will do. It must be man – the pinnacle of God’s creation on earth. We are called dust, and so we are! We are the spiritual dirt for the Spiritual Seed of God!

The word seed is “sperma” in Greek. Yes, sperm! Don’t be too shocked as Paul uses “sperma” when speaking of Christ – God’s Seed.

GAL 3:16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.

God’s sperm is Christ that grows in mankind like a baby in the womb. Isn’t our world like a womb? The womb is dark and so is this world. The womb is fleshy and so is this world. Christ Jesus seemed to understand this completely because He wanted to spread Himself over the world.

JN 12:23 Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24] I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

Jesus died that Christ may live. As the son of man, Jesus reached a few souls around him, but as the Son of God in heaven, he is now a life-giving Spirit available to all humanity!

1 COR 15:45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 46] The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47] The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven.

Here Paul explains that the natural comes before the spiritual just as the soil comes before the Seed. The first man (Adam) came from the earth, but the second and LAST Adam (Christ) comes from heaven- a higher state of consciousness and thereby closer to God. Further, by knowing and doing the Father’s will, you could even say to be “one with God” as Jesus did. Now if Christ is the Seed that is planted in us, does He always grow to maturity? I am afraid the answer is no. Many are called, but few are chosen. This is a hard truth for many Christians to swallow. Some believe that head knowledge of a man named Jesus grants them entrance into heaven. I am sorry, but it just isn’t so. There is a very harsh reality when it comes to the building Kingdom of God.

Within nature we observe the survival of the fittest – Darwinism. The strong become stronger and prosper and the weak are taken out- weeded out. This earthly shadow points to the higher reality and truth of God’s spiritual Kingdom. The same principle applies to the higher order of spiritual growth, which was referred to by Jesus. God only calls those who are ready- those with the ears to hear.

MT 13:11 He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12] Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

MT 21:43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.

LK 3:9 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

Like a gardener, God thins out the crop to create the best environment for HIS Seed to mature. This may all sound a bit harsh considering we equate God with love, but our notion of love is likely distorted. Love, in the highest sense, is not an emotion. Love is sacrifice. God sacrificed all He is into the void. So love is surrendering all you have and are. This is the nature of God and what is revealed in Christ. Many may think love will always make us feel good. This certainly is not true. Love does what is best for us and not necessarily what feels good. Would it be love to give drug addicts what makes them feel good? Many times children don’t understand why they are chastised by their parents, and so it is with man and God. Many times love hurts.

HEB 12:6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”

LK 12:48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

There is a very important principle (law) established by our LORD that we must accept. It is – we reap what we sow. This universal law is in effect for our benefit and growth. We learn through this law of balance. This theme is prevalent in the Bible and Christianity.

2 COR 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

GAL 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Eastern teachers have referred to this law as Karma, but it is the same truth from the same God. The truth is that we are all connected, and we only hurt ourselves when we hurt others. Jesus made this very clear with his statements on judgment and salvation.

LK 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38] Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Jesus, how do you say we can be forgiven? By forgiving our neighbors? That is it? Surely there must be more? NO, it is as simple as this because Christ is in all of us! Until we realize that Christ is all in all we can not be saved. This is our lesson – learning that we are one in Christ. Learning to love others as our selves because they are. Now many Christians can accept this “karmic” principle, but they have trouble accepting its crucial counterpart- reincarnation. Reincarnation fulfills God’s justice. Reincarnation provides the means for us to learn by our experiences and mistakes. Without reincarnation, a man will not reap what he has sown, nor can we come to learn from our mistakes. Without reincarnation, nearly all humanity would not believe and be saved. God’s grace doesn’t end with the death of our flesh. Our flesh is not important, but our lessons learned in the flesh are. Ever since we began eating of tree knowledge, man has been seeing and thinking double. Recall that God created everything and said is was ALL good. Everything of this world including man was perfect in God’s eyes. Then something changes when our LORD God formed man. He said it was not good that man should be alone, so He made a helper for him. We read that Eve was created to be Adam’s helper, but Eve was not created to help Adam with the chores of this world. No, no, Eve was created to help Adam know the world. She went out looking for a different kind of fruit.

As discussed earlier, Adam represents the Spirit of man while Eve symbolizes the mind of man. Eve (mind of man) came out of the Spirit (Adam) and into the physical world. The mind of man is who desired the fruit of this world- that is its knowledge. It is important to see that the mind of man (Eve) took us into sin.

2 COR 11:3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

1 TIM 2:13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14] And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

The mind of man, deceived by the ego (false self, devil), brought the idea of sin to life. It is important to see that Eve was taken out of Adam. This is to say our mind was no longer in the Spirit, but was looking outward into the world. This searching brought on our identity crisis. For the first time, man was becoming “self” conscious. Man was developing an image of himself just as God has an image of Himself. It is our God-given nature to do this, but our self-image is a false image. God’s image is Christ. Christ’s image is man. Man’s image is his body and natural mind. This image we developed has been used as a tool- the ladder to climb. We had to become self-conscious before we could be Christ-conscious.

For man’s mirage to happen, the Spirit (Adam) was said to be put to sleep, and we are never told he was awakened. So then, it can also be understood that our world is more like a spiritual dream in the mind of Christ. Spiritually speaking, we are being awakened into Christ-consciousness, which is our true nature from God.

RO 13:11 And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Yes, it is like we are waking from a fearful and painful dream, but in the Reality of Christ there are no such things. So now, let’s consider the “tree” that has brought man so much pain and suffering. First, the “tree” is not one with branches and leaves, but one that provides food (fruit) for thought. Eating an apple from a deciduous tree did not take man into sin – no more than a snake slithered up and told Eve to eat it. We must let go of such natural images and seek the spiritual meaning for we are Spirit just as our Father is Spirit. Also we should not take our LORD off the hook when it comes to this “temptation” in the garden of our minds. Our LORD God put the all the trees there in our grasp for a purpose.

GE 2:8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9] And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

There are two trees in the center of our garden – one of life and one of death thus duality is formed by the LORD. The “garden” is our very being where duality came to life for us. Yet, the true origin of duality goes back to when God separated the light from the darkness. God who knows no duality, but only perfection, created it for a purpose. With duality there is what is real (Light) and what is unreal (darkness). Within this duality there is contrast which leads to judgment. We come to know what is real and true through our experience. Before we can know something we must experience it. Many believe in this or that, but this faith only leads us into true knowledge. It is knowing the Truth which sets us free!

Our LORD said not to eat of the tree of knowledge knowing full well that we would and must. It would be like a parent telling a child not to touch something, then watching as the child learns their lesson. The LORD knew there was no true life in this tree, so why did he put it in our reach? Why did we have to eat of this tree? Simply put like the child- to come to know what the Truth is. We need to know because God must know. It is our God-given nature to come into all knowledge. Remember that knowledge is considered paramount in the path of salvation.

LK 1:77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,

LK 11:52 “Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”

The tree of knowledge gave man the ability to experience something he had not before- death. Man did not know death because he had not yet been self-conscious. To become self-conscious, man had to create an image of himself – an ego. God gives life to the Word, which gives life to man which gives life to ego. The ego of man is truly a shadow of a shadow – it is the devil, the deceiver. It’s desire is to be apart from God – to be a separate entity. Its only life is by living in the darkness of deception and ignorance. The ego knows that its time is limited because as Christ comes, it is destroyed.

REV 12:12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”

In man’s garden, the newly born ego was hungry for something other than God. The birth of ego gave birth to the desire to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The ego told man that he was God. Remember the ego is simply a shadow of a shadow. The ego is born from self-consciousness because it is our nature to make an image just as God has an image. From God is Christ; from Christ is man; from man is ego. When the ego tells Eve that man is God, he tells a half-truth. Man is not God, but God is man. A seed is not a tree, but it is from a tree. We are becoming the fullness of God, but the ego felt it was full already because it was ONE- a single identity. Because of this self-consciousness, the ego became afraid and felt it must protect the ONE that it thought it was.

Many are taught that man, by his own free will, brought sin into the world. This is really not the case. Man did EXACTLY as he was expected to do. Paul understood that God willed this to happen according to the very nature given to mankind from God.

EPH 2:3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.

ROM 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;

ROM 11:32 For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Paul says, “not willingly” and “God has bound all men over to disobedience!” Why? So he could save us of course! How then can man be accountable for his sinful nature? Who again put the tree where man could reach it? If a parent leaves a loaded gun with the child and tells them not to use it are they then not responsible when the child makes a bad choice and kills himself? Our LORD God certainly takes responsibility and knew what would happen in the garden. This was not a mistake as many see it, but a necessary evil if you will. Consider what our LORD says after man’s decision to eat of the tree of knowledge.

GEN 3:22 And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

Isn’t becoming “one of us” the whole point of creation? Isn’t God raising up children into his fullness? Yes, this is exactly what God is doing!

1JN 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3] Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

Yes, we are becoming pure in Christ because we are from a pure and perfect Father! As an act of mercy, the LORD didn’t allow man to eat of the tree of life until man had overcome the world and the devil ego. Not until we have overcome this world and its pain will we be allowed to live “forever” which is outside the world of time. Of course, to overcome the world we need Christ to be LORD and SAVIOR.

Many say these titles with great zeal, but do they understand the seriousness of its meaning? For Christ to be our LORD, we must lay down our will, our ways and our mind. So, when the time is right we must let go of the false self (ego) which desires to please itself and not God. Still, the false self (a shadow of the real self) had to be established in our consciousness before our true self (Christ) could be revealed. The false self (carnal mind) tries to be good by doing what is right in its mind, but the spiritual mind is the mind of Christ in which is no sense of fault or condemnation. Sin is in our self-consciousness.

ROM 3:20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

As man was becoming more self-conscious, he also became more sin-conscious. Man was becoming more and more aware of God’s laws which brought guilt, fear, pain and suffering into his mind. The first thing man did after the “original” sin is hide in fear. Fear is the root of all evil, not money. Fear is the result of ignorance. Fear came to man because man became self-conscious and began to be “like God,” but apart from God. Man, because of his ego, felt separated from God like never before. The time had come for man to learn many painful lessons. Man was now on the path into knowledge that leads to wisdom that leads to salvation. Man had begun the transformation from beast of burden to a child of Peace. The creation of the natural is for the birth of the spiritual just as the soil is created for the seed.

So as predestined by God, man’s paradise (heaven) gradually turned to hell. This is simply the progression of our evolution in consciousness. This spiritual process can be likened to a child who outgrows his clothes. In the Beginning our consciousness knew this world as heaven because man knew no sin and no self. In time, man found pleasure in the flesh and himself to the point of worshipping himself. Man’s consciousness grew in the darkness of ego. Then man as a separate entity began to experience death and its symptoms for the first time. Yes, man’s paradise began to feel more and more uncomfortable like clothes that don’t fit anymore.

One universal truth among mankind is that we are all seeking to feel good. Just as drugs may make us feel good for a time, so it is with this world and sin. We are seemingly addicted to it at first, but then we become sick of it. It deceives us and leaves us empty. So after many lifetimes of sinful behavior, we have had enough. Deep within our consciousness we know that we seek the higher pleasures in Christ. Jesus came to this point and made the choice for Christ in spite of the pain the world would give him.

HEB 11:25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.

AC 17:29 “Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone–an image made by man’s design and skill. 30] In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

Yes, God overlooked our ignorance because we were like children unaware of who we are. We were unaware of Christ within us. Now the time has come, to feel good in a different way! We move through existence seeking higher and higher pleasures. To some eating, drinking and being merry is enough to keep them happy – a physical high through the flesh. For others, they feel better when they acquire fame, prestige or power in the world – a mental high through the ego. Still others it seems can find nothing in this world that satisfies them. Jesus was one such man. He became so removed from this world that he didn’t believe it to be his home. His world was a higher world. Not one up in the clouds, but one that is higher in consciousness.

JN 8:23 But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.”

Jesus being Christ-conscious was aware of God’s world and man’s world. To him, God’s world was the REAL world and this world was just a dream. He controlled this world like one controls a dream. Still he was in this “dream” to wake us up. To obtain this awakened state with Jesus, we are asked to hate our false self (ego) and the false reality of this world. Jesus didn’t have many nice things to say about this world or the ego who loves it.

LK 14:26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters yes, even his own life he cannot be my disciple.

JN 12:25 The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

As we grow in consciousness, it becomes harder and harder to hold on to this world because the pain becomes greater and greater. We begin to hate the ego of the man in the mirror who is the devil – our adversary. We first see the sinful man- the beast. But in time, our old nature is removed like a veil that covered our eyes, so that we can see our true nature – the Son of God. This happens because that sinful behavior that used to feel good now brings us pain and our peace is only found through Christ. If we can accept it, pain is our ally and motivation in this world. Pain is a necessary element in our maturation and purification just as it was with Jesus.

HEB 5:8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered 9] and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.

ROM 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

So pain and pleasure are like road signs along our journey through this world. We trade in the lower pleasures of the flesh for the higher pleasures of the Spirit. When we lose step with the Spirit, we feel the pain in our conscience. As we read, Jesus went through immense pain and suffering to be perfected and overcome the world. The pain of childbirth is natural to all mothers, but so it is also the mind of man giving birth to Christ. Recall what God told Eve (mind of man) after she had sinned.

GE 3:16 To the woman he said, “I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

While this passage makes sense in the natural, consider what it is saying spiritually. God says that because mind (woman) has sinned that mind (consciousness) would feel pain giving birth to Christ. Similarly, the desire of our consciousness would be for the Spirit, and the Spirit will rule over us. Several times Paul speaks of giving “birth” to Christ.

GAL 4:19 My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.

RO 8:22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23] Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons.

God is in us driving us forward through this phase of life. This world is not the end, but simply a passage into the next. We are here to learn. We must gain the knowledge of good and evil through experience. The duality or contrast must exist to make judgments. So before we started seeking knowledge, all things were good and pure. The LORD God declared that all things He created were good, and they still are. We could see this if we had the right eyes!

TIT 1:15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

So to God, who is pure, all things are pure as He created. To Him, light and darkness are the same. When we have been purified in Christ we too will see that all things are as they should be. In Christ there is no law nor right and wrong. There is only Life! For now, many see the world as Good vs. Evil, or with a slight modification we could say it is GOD vs. DEVIL. We perceive that there are two opposing powers at work, but what be the truth?

ISA 45:7 I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create evil; I, the LORD, do all these things.

So the LORD takes responsibility for all that happens. The LORD is not divided, so it must be man that is seeing double. This duality, or binary thinking is what created our current hell and also our computers. Yes, it seems everything man creates or thinks is rendered out in a binary way. This is no surprise since our very nature is twofold- natural and spiritual. Man sees TWO images of himself. He has the image he has created in his mind, which is the ego, and the true image we are in Christ. In this world, we are being asked to turn around- repent. This means we must let go of the image we created in this lowest realm and return to whence we came which is Christ. In Christ we find our true image and life. So this duality exist because we are faced with a choice of who we are. Not only do we have duality in our minds, but our physical existence expresses this too. Our bodies are permeated with duality- two eyes, two ears and even two sides to our brains! Just as we use two arms and two legs to climb a ladder, so does our mind use dualism to climb the ladder of consciousness. We use duality for balance. We use duality for the two witnesses of our existence and experiences. Duality is used also as a tool for us to see contrast. We use duality to become the judge.

1 COR 6:2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?

Some will say, but Christ is the judge. Yes, but the saints ARE Christ! They have gained wisdom and understanding, been born of the Spirit and overcome the world! Recall our LORD God said, “now they have become like one of us.” This is the reason for our binary world. In our minds, it is being used as a tool to experience the world of self-consciousness. So whether we see things as good or evil, they are all working together according to the One purpose and will of God. Directly or indirectly, God has created everything we might perceive as evil and even the devil himself!

ISA 54:16 “See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc;

RO 8:28 And we know that all things work for the good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose.

If we believe nothing else, we should believe our God is sovereign! Nothing is done outside of his purpose and will that truly matters. Certainly, God’s will may not be chosen, but this world provides the pain to teach and correct us. Even so, God is behind all things and uses all things to move us along the path including pain. As Jesus and his followers experienced, pain and suffering are actually GOOD when we see their purpose. That purpose is to bring humanity into Christ-consciousness whereas bringing God’s kingdom to earth!  


The “coming of Christ” has been anticipated from Paul’s time up to the dooms day writers of today. Many so-called prophets of today said Jesus was to return in 2000 AD. Others say that Jesus is returning to earth in 2008 just as the battle of Armageddon begins. Other religions also preach their “savior” is coming soon, and certainly many Christians believe the world is getting ripe for Jesus to return to the earth for “every eye to see him.” As we read the Book of Revelations, we see many images of Christ’s return. John sees Jesus riding on a white horse in power and glory. Some take this very literally and believe that the Jesus of 2,000 years ago will actually return riding a white horse out of the sky down to the earth. Others are looking for the spiritual meaning hidden from our natural eyes.

REV 19:11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.

While all things are possible for God, Jesus floating down to earth on a white stallion would be a real marvel to behold! The Spirit of Jesus may return to the earth in some bodily form, but we must not take Bible passages too literally. If we did, then we should certainly watch out for that seven-headed, ten-horned beast too which is also seen coming in Revelation! The point is many are looking for Jesus with natural eyes. Many are seeking a physical Jesus, but they forget that God is Spirit and so is Jesus. Paul says that Jesus Christ is now a life-giving Spirit. Not only this, but we should start seeing each other as SPIRIT and not flesh- this includes Jesus.

COR 5:16 Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. 17] Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Christ is more than Jesus, the Son of man, the one of flesh who walked the earth 2,000 years ago. Haven’t we read all that Christ is? Christ is all in all- the reality of all things seen or unseen! Christ is the image (body) of God. Jesus, like all men, is the image of Christ. Jesus himself is not the full image (body), but is called the head of the body of Christ.

COL 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19] For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him.

Jesus is the firstborn from among the dead which is us who are stuck in our lower consciousness. This is why he said to let “the dead bury the dead.” We are as dead because we are not aware of God – His will or ways. In our state of self-consciousness, we are spiritually asleep to God.

EPH 5:14 for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

We must hear the Call within and wake up as Jesus did. Upon hearing Christ within, Jesus surrendered his ego, mind, will and strength for God’s nature which is also in us. Christ is not flesh on a horse! Christ is SPIRIT that gives true, higher life! Christ is the light of every man that COMES into this world! Christ is the food for a higher consciousness! If some believe that Jesus will return as a man, do they also believe we should “drink his blood and eat his flesh?” Look past the symbolism and knock on the true DOOR within you that is Christ!

LK 11:10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

We must stop trying to live in the flesh! The Spirit gives life! Jesus is SPIRIT! So, if we can get past the natural, we must see that Christ’s return is not a physical Jesus on a white stallion. Christ is the spirit of Sonship, which means we become exactly as Jesus is and coheirs to all of God’s fullness.

ROM 8:14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15] For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16] The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17] Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Christ was revealed (manifested) through Jesus, but Christ is the only Son of God. This is why we are ONE in Christ because there is only ONE CHRIST. The key is that Christ is a complete body and Jesus is simply called the head. Just as a baby emerges into the world HEAD first, so did Christ in the form of Jesus. We, the Body of Christ, follow Jesus since WE ARE ALL Christ. It is an inevitable and unconditional truth of our higher nature coming to maturity as our Father has willed. We must understand this. We are Spirit from God experiencing and expressing through our bodies and minds.

We know that a seed must fall to the ground and die to produce more of its kind, and so it is with Christ Jesus. Jesus started the process of building up the body for God, which is Christ. The body of Christ is those being raised in consciousness. When Christ Jesus returns he will have his FULL body because we are his body! Christ in US is the treasure that we find! Christ in us is the tree of life that has been guarded from our carnal minds. Christ in us is the kingdom of God- a place for God to be! Christ in us is the greatest mystery hidden from man. Christ in us is our only hope!

COL 1:27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Do you see how this all fits into the plan of creation and man? We are reaching the end of time and the door of eternity. Christ is that door. That door is not in some far away heaven, but deep within our being. We read that Christ Jesus comes with the saints and IN the saints.

2 TH 1:10 on the day he comes to be glorified IN his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed.

REV 19:14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.

The book of Revelation is a book about the REVEALING of Christ in the saints. Christ in us is growing, maturing and taking over our being. The natural gives way to the spiritual just as the Light destroys the darkness. We read of many battles and tribulations in the book of Revelation, but these are simply symbols of our life and Christ within us overcoming.

1JN 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

The theme of “white” is prevalent throughout the description of Christ’s return. The horses are white. The garments are clean and white. White is certainly a sign of purity. We are to be made like virgins for the Bridegroom. We should understand that the “horses” represent the vehicles on which all in Christ ride. This vehicle is speaking of our purified minds. This is the only way Christ can come to earth (us).

ROM 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.

COL 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3] For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4] When Christ, who is your life, APPEARS, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Christ appears all right! Christ appears in us because we become Christ just as Paul was!

GAL 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

If our false (lower) self is crucified, then our true (higher) self will be revealed which is Christ. The purified mind is like the good soil where the Seed grows and produces a crop. The crop is the will of God, the glory of Christ and the fruit of the Spirit!

GAL 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

For this fruition to be realized, we must believe. We must believe that Christ is in you and all. Christ said he was with us always. Do we believe this? Where is he? Christ appears in his saints who have believed that Christ is their true self and life. Faith brings to life what is unseen and unknown. Faith is what released Christ within all that were healed by Jesus– “your faith has made you well.” It was their faith, and Christ in them that healed their afflictions. We can do nothing unless we first believe. The thought precedes the realized fulfillment. Man went to the moon because he first believed he could. The Son will take us higher than the moon to be sure, but we must believe that he is in us and is us. For those ready to hear, He calls us from within our consciousness.

REV 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

There is no literal door to heaven- no pearly gates! Christ IN YOU is the hope of glory! For those who expect to see Jesus riding in the sky on a white horse someday soon, they wait in vain. Even so, Jesus is alive! Jesus is Spirit as we all are! Could the spirit of Jesus incarnate again and return to the earth? Certainly he could, but he would not be the Jesus everyone “thinks.” He would show Christ again and again many would judge him wrongly. The world would judge according to appearance and worldly matters. So the many who wait are like the Jews when they expected the Messiah, a powerful king, to come fight and destroy their enemies. Jesus showed them Christ. Jesus the Christ was not the man they wanted. They had natural desires and natural eyes that couldn’t see what the Savior should be. Still, Christ does fight and defeat our enemies, but not in some foreign land. Christ wins the victory in us!

2 COR 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you?

PHP 2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

GAL 1:15 But when God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased 16] to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man.

Christ is revealed in man! This the reason for our creation! This is the mystery – the treasure and true Life we will all seek. Jesus revealed Christ to the world. The man Jesus became Christ through obedience and suffering. Jesus found that treasure within and sold everything. Where is Christ again? Jesus the Christ told us that when we did it to the least, we did it to Him. Is this so hard to understand? Christ is all and in all! If Christ is the only Son of God, then we can only be called children if we be Christ too! Christ is a BODY of believers, lovers and overcomers that is connected in consciousness, purpose and will.

JN 17:21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22] I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23] I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Jesus started the FIRE within us by letting go of his old self. This Fire burns the hay and stubble of our carnal natures! This is the death of the cross! We do not carry a physical cross nor do we die hanging on a tree. Our burden and death are letting go and dying to our old nature – our old self. Yes, who we thought we were does die, but then we are born again! Jesus is called the firstborn among the dead, but Jesus will not be alone in Christ. Consider what is written by the prophets about our Lord, Christ.

MK 1:3 “a voice of one calling in the desert, `Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.'”

John the Baptist speaks of not a single path for Christ, but paths. Yes, Jesus was the first path for Christ- God made flesh in this world. Christ does not stop with Jesus. Jesus was the firstborn, the first seed, the first stone of God’s house!

EPH 2:20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21] In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22] And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Jesus walked the path to Christ and now is our guide on the other side! We are called to make straight paths for HIM in OUR lives! We are the paths that must be made straight so Christ may also be revealed in us and to the world! Again, we must believe who we really are beyond our bodies of flesh. Identifying with the flesh will keep us in chains. The flesh must be removed!

COL 2:11 In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ.

The flesh nature is removed to reveal our Christ nature! We must purify our minds for Christ-consciousness to be realized. Sin clouds the mind- acting like a veil so we can’t see the Truth. Sin weighs down our conscience- keeping us from rising up to heaven. Sin restricts the Living Water flowing within us- making us weak. Christ said he was the Vine, and we are the branches. Christ is our life source reaching in and through our very being. As the arteries carry blood from the heart, so is Christ bringing life into us for the purpose of creating a body for God’s love to be known in the world! Yes, God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven! This means that we are being transformed into the body of Christ in order to do the Father’s will! As Christ comes in us, He comes with power and glory to reform the world lost in the darkness.

MK 13:26 “At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.”

Note that Christ comes IN clouds, and WE are the clouds! If Christ is the invisible water vapor, then yes, we are the visible CLOUDS of his glory! Like clouds, we are in the world, but not of the world. We have been lifted up above the earthly plane and earthly pain. Oh yes, there is certainly pain for the carnal mind when Christ comes.

MAL 3:2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.

The purification by Christ has begun! Yes, Christ Jesus said he came to start a fire and that by this fire we must be baptized. This fire burns in our conscience removing all that stands in Christ’s way. The old self, as Paul called it, will be destroyed by Christ. Then our new, true self is revealed- Christ!

1 TH 5:2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3] While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

REV 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18] so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.”

Talk about symbolism! Do some suppose that God is really going to serve the flesh of all people and even their horses? Wake up my dear friend! What is being consumed by Christ is our carnal nature (flesh) of ALL PEOPLE! Even the carnal minds (horses) are consumed! Christ destroys the old and makes everything new! This includes mankind!

REV 21:5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

REV 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

A new world has been born for mankind! This world is without sin, without death, without pain! We have risen above those former things and our former self. We no longer have our mind or will, but we have the mind and will of Christ. Now, we can do God’s will and be God’s glory! There is no other way except through Christ. All things are working in accord with the Master’s plan through Christ. To think otherwise would eliminate the sovereignty of God. Who is your God? Why did God bring YOU into existence? We are not here to simply suffer and die, but to learn and be born into a new, higher world- one we call paradise again!  


So then what is the meaning of life? Words and thoughts seem to fall short of the mark, but it is our nature to try to understand. It seems I could write more and more – trying to explain and expound on each facet, but to what end? The easiest answer to all our questions is God. God is the reason for life, and God is life. God creates life to be God- to express Himself (Herself). Through the Word, God is known just as a cause is through its effect. Through the Word, all things have been created for the purpose of building consciousness (a Kingdom) from nothingness (the void). The Spirit operates within consciousness. Consciousness operates (lives) within matter. In turn, matter lives and has its being in Spirit. Each uses and supports the other. This is the eternal cycle of God’s life that we are coming to know.

Who we are and what we call reality are determined by our level of consciousness. In the highest sense, we are Spirit from God though we are not fully aware of this. What we are coming to know is that God is all in all. We are a “part” of God. Although God can be partitioned, we are extensions of the One God into lower worlds. God is all that is real while everything else is simply a manifestation. God “lives” through His Word who lives through us and all creation. From the atom to the Adam, God is present. God is connected to every level of consciousness and life. All of creation is working together for the purpose of God. Just as the soil gives itself to the plants, so do the plants give themselves to the grazing animals. In the same way, creation is for man; man is for Christ; and Christ is for God. By this method, God’s kingdom is built. Out of the void and from the ground up, God fuels and fills all things.

Our whole physical world is a shadow of a higher one. All that we observe with our senses has a higher reality above it. As our bodies have been evolving, so has our consciousness. We are Spirit from God that has evolved into human bodies. Our bodies are tools (vehicles) to move about and experience this lower world. After many reincarnations, our consciousness matures and gains wisdom. We have learned to love each other as ourself because, in Truth, they are. We are One Self – Christ.

Much of mankind is in the darkness of self-consciousness. Life on earth began as a paradise, but now some are realizing that it is our hell to overcome. Those who seek to go beyond this world are looking for a way out. They have come to hate themselves and the ways of the world. They feel that this world is not their home because it no longer satisfies a hunger of a higher order. Deep within our being, we are coming to know who we are and where we want to be. After many, many reincarnations, our consciousness becomes “qualified” by wisdom through our experiences. We come to a point when we hear that Voice of Christ within us. If we are ready to let go of our false self, our true (higher) self is ready to be born! The shell of our earthly nature has served its purpose and falls away. Then a new creation is born! Our ego, the enemy and deceiver, is destroyed. It was a shadow, and we are now the Light!

Jesus is our forerunner into Christ-consciousness. Jesus overcame his self and this world by letting Christ live through him. Jesus is now a Christ-conscious, life-giving Spirit within all mankind. Christ is on the other side of the “door” knocking. If we open that door in our consciousness we will be with Him and draw our life from Him. In Christ, there is no condemnation or pain because we are once again in paradise to build another level in the kingdom of God. Don’t look for Christ up in the clouds. He and the kingdom are within you waiting to be born in your consciousness and life.

As Christ comes to us and the earth, we and all of life is transformed. God’s kingdom is coming and nothing can stop it. To stand against Christ growing within us surely means pain and suffering in the darkness of the sinful mind. Christ saves us from this hell we created. Christ is saving us from ourselves. The only one holding us back from heaven is the one you see in the mirror. There is the liar! There is the killer! There is the sinful beast! We must lose our self to find our Self. We must surrender the ego and take on our true self which is Christ. We must realize that as we do to our brother, we do to ourselves because we are all connected in Christ. We are One Being in Christ. When we forgive our brother, we are forgiving our Self. We must literally be possessed by God so we can go from servant, to Son, to ONE. God will not have it any other way. If we resist in our vanity, we feel the pain and emptiness that only God can remove. We must pass through this darkness like it was a womb so to be born again into a new life- a higher life! The apparent pain we now feel during our birth certainly will fade like a dream does upon awakening to the new day!

Our God is said to be a consuming Fire. Christ is the Light that lights every man that comes into the world. What wonderful symbolism we have here! God is the Fire, the true Energy within us while Christ is the result of that Fire- that is the Light and the Heat! The Light is to lead us back to God and the Heat is to remove all the barriers that stand in our way. The Fire burns and the Light shines until God has filled the universe with absolute Consciousness. In this way, God knows Himself to be omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. God is all in all. May our heavenly Father consume ‘you’ until all that is left is the very fullness, glory and Image of the one true God!  God’s peace, power and understanding be yours.
