In his letter, Peter identified himself as an ambassador of Jesus Christ and elect according to the foreknowledge of God through the sanctification of the spirit, unto obedience and spilled blood of Jesus Christ. He was not elect just because he was Peter and he was someone special. He was elect because of his sanctification through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was foreordained to be the source of sanctification and spiritual cleansing because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ. He laid down His life and shed His blood knowing beforehand that He would, by the person of Himself and His actions, by the power of His resurrection from the dead, cleanse man from his unrighteousness and purchase his redemption from the power of death. By his sacrifice He procured us into a lively hope, not of dead works and performance rituals, but by His resurrection from the dead, we can get a hold upon an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance in Him that does not fade away, protected in heaven for those of us who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed at the proper time. Peter felt that it was by girding up the loins of the mind, being sober, and by holding onto the hope of a personal inward unveiling of Jesus Christ, through the trial of our faith, that we will partake of the glory that is to be ours at His presence being unveiled in our hearts through the girding up of our minds. Peter felt that sanctification and holiness through the power of the Holy Spirit were the only keys to experiencing true salvation. (1Peter 1:1-16)
May He abundantly Bless you!
