PARTS 1-12

Newsletter No. 172 – March 2001

Greetings! I am happy to say I have been getting some encouraging feedback regarding the last article I wrote on the third seal. With the help of different members of the Body, I hope to throw some light on the seals, especially the first six. The seventh, I believe, is something that the Lord has yet to open.

Rev. 6:1 in the Amplified, tells us, “And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four living creatures saying, Come and see.”

“And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.(Rev. 5:5) To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen!

When John was invited to “Come and see”, this was what he saw: “And I saw, and behold a white horse and He that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto Him: and He went forth conquering and to conquer.”

As to the mystery of the identity of the One on the white horse, I will share two quotes from different ones. First, from Jane Leade, who wrote in the late 1600’s: “… until this first seal was broken open, for thereupon the strong Lion of the tribe of Judah set me free to run the race of faith unto the end, giving in this caution to take care to be well mounted on this horse of the spirit of faith. And to hold fast to Him Who rides on it who has the conquering bow in His hand to shoot His arrows into those unbelieving spirits that would still keep us in doubts and perplexity.”

From Marie Tolbert, of our day. “In the Spirit, I saw the rider on the white horse and he had a name written across him, and it was Truth.” She saw that this horse and rider came on the scene at the time of the Reformation, for she heard the rider say, “The just shall live by faith.”

Though these two writers are three hundred years apart, they have augmented and confirmed each other’s revelation, as does the scripture concerning the Man on the white horse. “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True; and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.” Rev. 19:11

Though these scenes were already in print at the beginning of the Church Age, yet they were written for this time at the end of the Church Age. The thrill of this being that this steed of faith may carry you and I as well. We followed after the One on the white horse during the past age, but when we ascend the mount of Tabernacles we shall find that we are in Him.

Oh glory! It is difficult for me to believe it as I say it; I about tremble to think on it. Yet, the Word that Sister Leade gave us is that the bow in His hand is to shoot the piercing arrows into the unbelieving spirits of doubt and perplexity. And when we find ourselves in Him, we shall be able to look out through His eyes and make only righteous judgments through His mind.

So, my brethren, we can tell that this Man on the White Horse has been riding for some time and will continue to do so until He rides into the sunset of this Church Age with all its twisted and perverted doctrines, its raucous antics in both the entertainment halls and the church halls, and its corruption of godly principles for which our forefathers fought and died.

“Since the Kingdom of God is preached, all men press into it.” Yes, let us ride with Him, for soon we shall be in Him and will ride into the dawning of that New and Glorious Day. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

“And I saw and behold a white horse and He that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto Him: and He went forth conquering and to conquer.”

We commented on the white horse in the March newsletter but we have had some confirmations come in recently on the horsemen and the opening of the seals, so we will share further.

We emphasize that the seals are being broken open within each individual one at a time as they are made ready for this operation. Is there any way to quicken the process? I would say there are some instructions to this end. The scripture speaks of “pressing in.” Did you ever see people pressing in to a bargain basement table of goods on Dec. 23rd or 24th? It seems the “pressure” helps.

The various horses speak of a goal to attain, or things in our lives to deal with. We could say the first white horse represents “faith.” The Rider has gone forth conquering and to conquer.

How do we conquer? Answer: by Faith. If we can attain to this Rider’s type of faith, (portrayed by a strong and powerful white steed), we will become conscious of exercising a faith that we have not known heretofore. You see, our little “measure of faith” was sufficient to enter in to the Feast of Pentecost, but as we stand gazing on the sheer stone facing of the Mount of Tabernacles, we know it will take a deeper type of faith to ascend this one; i.e. His Faith. It behooves us to cry unto Him that He will come to cleanse and ride through our temple, for with His ride comes this special faith.

Concerning this Rider, I quote from Lee Wigand: I saw here, the Lord Jesus Christ riding out of the Holy of Holies with a crown of thorns on His head and He had a bow (i.e. new covenant). Holiness and Righteousness rode all the way outside the Gate into Outer Darkness to retrieve a people who were lost in sin and death. He went “out” to bring them “in.” The Word Himself rode out to conquer the black horse (of death) that operated out of the human strength of old Adam. The seal of ignorance and blindness began to drop off.

“Rev. 19:11-16 “And I saw heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and he who sat upon it is called Faithful and True; and in righteousness he judges and wages war. And His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon His head are many diadems (crowns); and he has a name written upon Him which no one knows except Himself. And he is clothed with a robe dipped in blood and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies, which are in heaven clothed in fine linen (righteousness of the saints), white and clean, were following him on white horses (the strength of His Righteousness). And from His mouth comes a sharp sword (His Word), so that with it He may smite the nations; and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the winepress of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a Name/Nature written, “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

“He is preparing Majestic White Horses to carry His presence in and out of the Holiest Place in a King/Priest Ministry.”

“And when He had opened the second seal….” Before we go into Seal #2, let us review.

You will notice that immediately after the first seal was touched there followed a clap of thunder. Thunder is usually preceded by a stroke of lightning. Oh, oh! Have a caution; the innermost being will soon be lit up—exposed, if we have not been conscious of it heretofore. This causes dread to both regenerate and unregenerate. Mankind in general chooses to remain in the shadows while some priest, prophet or other pre-late intercedes for him. (“And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” Ex. 20:19) Yet, we know we must meet Him one-on-one for a deeper surgery.

In fact, those who have received revelation on this matter have been shown that the inner will be worked over and dealt with until the outer and the inner of each individual come to exactly the same hue. We will no longer be one thing on the outside and something else within.

“When He had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say come and see; and there went out another horse that was red.” Rev. 6:3, 4.

Someone may ask, “Is each Rider the Savior; how can this be so?” I will rearrange the question: “Is each Rider the Savior in symbolic form?” Yes, definitely so, and I am thinking that each symbolic Rider gives a different aspect of Christ as in Rev. 4:7, as revealed to John.

First, a lion“the Lion of the tribe of Judah…has prevailed to open the book” Rev.5:5

Second, a calf“Much increase is by the strength of the ox.” Proverbs 14:4

Third, a man“I drew them with the cords of a Man, with bands of love Hosea 11:4

Fourth, a flying eagle“the way of an Eagle in the air is too wonderful for me” Proverbs 30:19

I take each Rider as symbolic of some aspect of Christ and each horse as symbolic of the method to be used as He conquers all within His people; all glory and honor to such a Conqueror! We fret about the problems involved, but the Conqueror has no problem in the matter. His move is so deft-timed-incisive; the “cutting asunder” so carefully planned—the balm applied at the exact moment thereafter. He is our Savior and He is much more than I can say here!

“And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. Rev. 6:3, 4

Take note, that as each horse goes forth, the method and manner of warfare is given. It is your land and it is my land that is being surveyed, encompassed and besieged; for he must destroy all principalities and powers in order to have a company of Sons, a Bride without spot or blemish.

In relation to this, we can see a parallel in the eighth chapter of Luke’s gospel. Jesus gave them the parable of the sower sowing the seed. On first glance, we might think of it as a parable of the various kinds of seed; but as the Great Teacher explains it in the succeeding paragraph, we can see it is about the different types of follower and even their “inner land.” Hence, the type of follower is shown by the condition of their inner land—their rich fields?—their areas of drought?—their rain forests?

on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it and bring forth fruit with patience.” Vs 15

As the red horse goes forth, we are told the Rider has power to take peace from the earth. Might we interpret this to mean, “He has power to take peace from their earthiness?” All peace and pleasure is taken away from the worldly pursuits. As I see it, He makes it easy for us to fast from our earthly ways and habits until we come to the place that we can look upon such things with horror.

The part in vs. 4, that they should kill one another,” deserves comment. Just as in open warfare, evil forces can be pitted against each other, e.g. in the last world war – Nazism against communism, so the same thing can take place in inner warfare. I can only think of a homely example in regards to the latter: Let’s say this certain person is one of those who always has to be first; keenly competitive—admiring the finest, and determining to “have it all.”

In this type of overt ambition, spirits of pride and jealousy can tag along. Then, severe financial reverses come, followed by severe despair and remorse. Both are evil forces—the greed in the beginning and the despair and remorse following. Yet, the despair and remorse can overcome the original greed.

If the example seems to “strike a note” with you, cheer up, for now that the greed is gone, He may prosper you again.

The point is that if all peace and joy is taken from the worldly things we have lusted after, we will make a new decision on these things and then we will be able to praise Him for the method He used.

We will continue with the red horse and, more importantly, the Rider of the red horse, next time

Newsletter No. 176 – August, 2001

Rev. 6:4 “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another; and there was given unto him a great sword.”

Lee Wigand had some insight on this: “The Holy Spirit just sovereignly turned a light on inside of me. My spirit leaped with this insight on the four horses in Zechariah and in the Revelation that John saw of Jesus Christ signified through a people as He transforms them into His image.

“Scripturally, a horse speaks of strength and power. There is something significant about the strength of a horse that mankind has chosen to measure mechanical power in horsepower.”

So much has been written on the outward application of the 6th chapter of Revelation, that I must say a few words in defense of the inward application. Andrew Jukes writes in great detail on the inward application of a block of scriptures and then gives but a sketchy account of the outward application. I conclude that the first and most important is the inward application.

Lee Wigand’s insight declares that “The Red Horse speaks of the Power of the Blood over all that is not of God. This Red Horse also speaks of war. James 4:11 show us that our own pleasures wage war in our members. I Peter 2:11 urges us as believers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul (mind, emotions, will).”

It may be worth saying that the color “red” has a certain significance in all societies today. What does it mean to you? Probably: “take note”—”take care”—”very important.”

When a traffic light turns amber, you take your foot from the accelerator and when it turns red, hopefully you bring everything to a halt; it is now a matter of life and death. Red means, “be alert—grab the message!

In times past, all the Cooks were horsemen; at that time we used horses to work the land—no tractors, no mules, no oxen either. Further, I have to say I never saw a red horse; those somewhat related to that color we called “sorrel” or “chestnut.” In essence, I am saying that these horses are symbolic of something else the Lord is bringing to our attention. In the gospels, we see Christ in actuality, meek and lowly, riding on an ass and the foal of an ass.

But now we see Him symbolically. We see Him after His death on Calvary and after His victorious resurrection and after His being placed at the Father’s right hand. The Father has Him pass before us pictorially on prancing steeds to show that He has conquered all. He is now the Conqueror.

One of the root words for “red” is “fiery.” Sal and Dominie Bodonaro share, “With the opening of the second seal, the refining process is introduced; i.e. the cleansing and purification process fearfully needed of the fallen soul which must needs precede the finished work of God. This is the symbolism of the red horse.”

I love the way in which Jane Leade expresses it: “At the opening of the Second Seal, all peace, pleasure and joy were taken away from the earthly life. With this, such a light broke forth which made me see the vile abomination of an earthly state as compared with the perfection of the Divine Life. Now I rejoiced in nothing more than to see Him who sat upon the red horse slaying with His sword the beasts and creeping things of the earth. That is, all the moving stirring essences springing from the original source of evil, and to find Him taking away peace from the earthly life so that the earthly mind is bereft of all peace, rest, content and satisfaction in all its goings out, whether in thought, word or action.

Newsletter No. 177 – Sept/Oct., 2001

An intense, deep work continues within us in regards to the seals; consider the following prophecy: “…the Lamb, who charges it as a great oversight upon those that regenerate, that they have put this day afar off, not discerning the Lord’s Body, Who is quickened from the dead in them who are passed from death with Him and so are put in subordinate commission with the Lamb to break open all those seals which shall make way for the descent of the holy city.” (As spoken to Jane Leade)

Little wonder that movies have been made, songs have been sung, etc., on the apparent outward portrayal of biblical drama such as the four horsemen, the Battle of Armageddon, the Rapture, and others. We preferred that approach to taking a good look at the actual truths involved, for in that approach, we need not die (to the self-nature). Dying is a painful process in more ways than one; probably the greatest is that we lose our level on the “totem pole of social esteem.” After all, is not the greatest fleshly drive for fame and fortune, which includes conquering others, for there is not enough fame and fortune to go around, so then one ends up climbing over top of others to make any further ascent on the proverbial “totem pole.”

To return to the truth of the matter: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints” Psa. 116:15

At the same time, to avoid any confusion, let us add that when Jesus found us, we were dead in trespasses and sins, a death that would lead us to the grave and hell .Yet, He freed us from such a death and in further mercy and compassion now leads us to a death of the sin nature.

Please note in the prophecy quoted—“The Body of the Lord, Who is quickened from the dead in them who are passed from death with Him and so are put in subordinate commission with Him to break open all those seals…” If you realize you are in Him then you are doing the works of God with Him. Oh, glory!

When we understand that these seals are something within us of the earthly life that needs to be brought to death, then we realize that the church has not had even the first seal opened in her. This seal brings the arrows of the Lord to destroy the doubts and fears of ever being able to attain unto perfection, or the Mount Zion realm. The denominational church plainly declares that such a goal is impossible and that the Lord never intended us to seek after it. It is very clear that their faith has been sufficient for their salvation, but not for “going on unto perfection.”

There is a seeing eye opened with each broken seal, as the living creatures say, “Come and see.” Also, with each sounding trumpet there is a hearing ear given in order to hear the message. At this time, only those in the Firstfruits Company have been able to “see and to hear.”

The Lord showed Jane Leade clearly that with the opening of every seal we are to look for the passing away of the old heavens and earth in ourselves. For, from the first to the last there is a sounding trumpet to bring ruin and desolation to the first six-day’s creation because of sin by which the curse came in.

The breaking open of the seals makes way for the “descent of the holy city” which is symbolic of a certain level in God: “And I John saw the holy city new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband, and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. Rev. 21:2, 3

I continue to dwell on that—“the tabernacle of God is with men.” Hence, I’m thinking the descent of the holy city, as it were, is a simultaneous event with the great Feast of Tabernacles.

Newsletter No. 179 – Dec., 2001

“A garden enclosed and barred is my sister, my [promised] bride; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.” Song of Sol. 4:12. I think of this verse in relation to the breaking of the seven seals, for we of the Bride must have the bar taken down and the seals removed if we would be one with Him who is the only One capable of “freeing” us.

The Fourth Seal: “So I looked, and behold, an ashy pale horse [black and blue as if made so by bruising] and its rider’s name was Death (Conqueror of Death—B.C.) and Hades [the realm of the dead] followed closely; and they were given authority and power over a fourth part of the earth, to kill with the sword and with famine and with plague (pestilence, disease) and with wild beasts of the earth” Rev. 6:8 Amplified

“At the opening of the Fourth Seal, Christ rides in His saints on a powerful horse whose name is Conquering Death and hath hell following Him. But though this death looks grim, yet it is such a death as shall only hurt the fourth part of the earth (our earth—the Adamic-B.C.). That is, the evil principle in the earthly life, which reigns and hath the dominion until the life of Christ be risen in His saints. Till which time the Beast may be permitted to kill the life of Christ in the soul with hunger, famine and languishing death. For it is said that the Beast shall make war with the saints and for a time overcome them.” (J. Leade)

I will include the footnote by Larry Hodges: “Dear saint of God, have you not found this to be so? Have you not found yourself, during some phase of your walk with God, literally being “worn out” by that nature within you which has been at cross purposes to Christ? Thank God for the rising life of Christ which finally quells and brings to a conclusion this civil war within.”

Lee Wigand has an interesting note on the fourth horse and Rider: “Speckled, Dapple, Grisled Horse speaks of the exposure of mixture in the Holy Place (i.e. your holy place—your innermost being–B.C.). Grisled means, “spotted as if with hail.” Isa. 28:17 says, “and I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the level; then hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the secret place.”

“After our initial honeymoon experience of our Baptism in the Holy Spirit, the Lord begins to reveal spots and blemishes that had not been recognized before. The Grisled Horse reveals our mixture of double-mindedness. This is when we learn that we must work out the salvation of our soul daily with fear and trembling.

“Our spirit was saved/reconciled back to God at the cross in the Outer Court. The Lamb’s Blood was applied, but we are still having problems in our thoughts and our walk. So Jesus baptizes us with His Holy Spirit to further empower us to overcome the remaining residue and influence of the old Adamic nature.” (unquote)

It is quite evident when we hear from God’s sons-in-preparation that He is delivering them from the fear of Death simply by having them walk through experiences in which they have to conquer death. This horse, Conquering Death, they have mounted and are riding it with Christ at the reins.

One brother whose heart condition is very bad, was on the hospital table when the Lord spoke to him: “Your adversaries are all your thoughts that are not of God. All this is what takes your peace from you. I am your peace!” He was shown that when fear thoughts came at him, to say, “You’re exalting yourself against the knowledge of God.”

Sal and Dominie Bordonaro share: “While the things which John saw abound in unfamiliar and extravagant symbolism yet they are intended to be known of the Church in full detail. The Book of Proverbs (25:2) says, “It is the glory of God to conceal or hide a thing, but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.” He is not speaking of a literal king. The scripture calls the believers kings and priests; “And now they sing a new song saying, You are worthy to take the scroll and to break the seals that are on it for You were slain (sacrificed) and with Your blood You purchased men unto God from every tribe and language and people and nation. And you, (Christ), have made us a kingdom, royal race, and priests to our God, and they shall reign (as kings) over the earth!” Rev. 5:9, 10. If the heart is set after the things of God, understanding is given it by the Spirit, which is God. Glory!

The Four Horsemen are sent forth to reveal, and uncover the mystery of salvation and restoration of all mankind through the immense love of God.

Newsletter No. 180 – Jan., 2002

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

‘And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled” Rev. 6:9-11.

This is another instance of “What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto Me from the ground. Gen. 4:10

The scriptures teach that, “even the very hairs of our head are numbered.” This all goes to prove that His loving care over us is on a daily basis, for He has even put “voice” in our blood.

It is most important to see that the voice of those under the altar was the voice that Father had put there as a reminder to Him, for those thoughts being expressed were not those of the martyrs but rather such brethren who said, as did Stephen, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

For if they held the offense and refused to forgive, they would not be amongst this number; but to those who readily forgive, God has said: “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay.”

It is a mystery, but He gives answer to this voice of their blood— “Rest awhile until the remainder of those of My beloved who have sacrificed all, will join your number.”

This passage does not elaborate on the judgment meted out on account of their martyrdoms but we think of that passage in Rev. 18:21-24, “Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found nor more at all. And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee: and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.”

“When He (the Lamb) broke open the sixth seal, I looked, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun grew black as sackcloth of hair, (the full disc of) the moon became as blood. Rev. 6:12

The terrible catastrophe of 9/11 had all the effects of an earthquake worldwide. After-shocks and reverberations can be felt for a thousand miles or more in an ordinary earthquake, yet, in this case, they have covered all the earth.

It may not come as good news, yet as we move from the macrocosm to the microcosm, we know for a certainty that it will take an earthquake of similar magnitude to cover our individual “whole earth.” The opening of the Sixth Seal will dislodge the last tentacles of the Adamic nature. Allow me to quote a passage on this very thought:

“Since the time of the Son of Man’s offering up Himself, the Holy One hath walked in clouds and hath been worshiped after an imperfect manner, and therefore He hath prepared a burning flaming day for all His vessels to pass through to know whether they be sanctuary proof or no. Rejoice, all ye who shall stand the trial of this Sixth Seal in order to receive the benefits of it.

“Now, according to the divine interpretation of the Sixth Seal, we may know how near the end of time and the passing away of the old heavens and earth in ourselves are. For that is what we are to look for at every Seal’s opening. For from the first to the last there is a sounding trumpet to bring ruin and desolation to the first six day’s creation because of sin by which the cure which came in. Upon such a basis, the Beast hath erected his kingdom and corrupted the whole principle of time. The Holy One hath suffered now so many thousand years during which all just men died, indeed, in the faith of this prophecy, but attained not to that degree which is to usher in the heavenly New Jerusalem in her glory.

“But the Lord is now stirring and in good earnest is sounding his trumpets for battle. There is that in which doth witness he is going on gradually to unmake and dissolve all of the first creation, for the Lamb will not much longer carry the weight and burden of a sinful creation. He hath in some already sounded to judgment and will set himself free thereby, as well as the spirits and souls of those who are resolved to follow Him through every Seal till they shall overcome.” Jane Leade.

Larry Hodges comments on the significance of the sun and the moon mentioned in this verse: “We simply must come to the place where we no longer walk by the sun of reason, the moon of the senses or by the stars of imagination. Every thought must be brought into captivity to Christ as every high thing, which exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ, is pulled down that we might walk only according to faith. This is losing our head life. ”

The Great Earthquake will do this good work!

To give a brief summary of the seals thus far, I quote from an email received recently from Jim Alspaugh: “Jesus has now shown me in the First Seal we ride with Him in conquering all His and our enemies.

“In the Second Seal we ride the red horse with Him to make war on our enemies. In the Third Seal, we ride with Him to conquer famine. The pale horse, the Fourth Seal, we ride with Him to conquer death. The Fifth Seal, we dip our robes in the Blood of the Lamb. The Sixth Seal, we are in Him as He causes earthquakes to shake everything that is not of Him. It witnesses to me that these things are happening to us individually. It may be on a corporate scale for the unsaved world, but it is individual for us now. I am going through this and so are you.”

We are probably all aware that the scriptures are written in symbolic form. We can recall that, as we learned the English language, we found that it was written via 26 symbols—a, b, c, etc. Also, we learned that the symbols could be “grouped” to represent a word picture—as road, trees, etc.

When you learn a new language, you will probably learn a new set of symbols and definitely new “grouping” of the symbols. (I think Mandarin has hundreds and hundreds of symbols). Now, as you learn “Bible language,” you find that the groups of symbols appear the same, but they take on a different meaning, depending on the context. “Highway” may mean “pathway of learning”; “trees” may mean “certain types of people”

In regard to this thought, I would like to quote from J. Preston Eby who has presently begun a new series on “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”, the last book in the Bible. “There are qualifications to be met for sonship and rulership in the kingdom of God! That is why we read in the Revelation again and again, “To him that overcometh will I give!” The “finished work” of Christ did not secure the throne for you. Don’t try to persuade me that all we need do is believe. If that were the case all of us would have been manifested sons of God a long time ago! It is still true that “Whom the Lord loveth, He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth” (Heb. 12:6) God does not scourge every sinner whom He saves—scourging is not a part of forgiveness and regeneration. One does not need to be scourged in order to receive what is freely given because of Calvary. But chastening, discipline, scourging, purging and refining are a vital part of the process of growing up into the character of God!

“With these thoughts in mind we should better grasp the significance and meaning of the woes, earthquakes, burning mountains, hail storms, vials, and judgments in the book of Revelation! These are poured out:

upon men (Adam, flesh)

upon the earth (carnality, soulishness)

upon the sea (wickedness)

upon the rivers & streams (doctrines, creeds, mind-sets)

upon the beast (natural constitution)

upon the harlot (religious systems)

upon the mountains (strongholds, dominions, kingdoms within) and a number of other realms.

“You will understand a great truth when you understand that all of these things are as truly within us as they are without! These are the very things that must be purged and eradicated once and for all and completely from our lives if we are to share the glory of Christ’s kingdom! And what earthquakes shake our lives as God brings His dealing hand upon the citadels of self and flesh and worldliness that dwarf and conceal the Christ-life within!” (Unquote)

Possibly because of explanations of the seals given by the religious systems of our day we have not taken His work in regards to our seals as seriously or as personally as we ought. Besides, if the good Lord begins to open up our inner regions—lands, seas, etc., He may be opening up a “can of worms.” And I believe that is what is taking place, for doesn’t the flesh scream in agony as it is being exposed? Doesn’t it try to hide behind “fig leaves” or whatever is available? (Ted Martin)

Newsletter No. 183 – Apr., 2002

“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

Someone may ask, “How can this all be happening internally—are you going to spiritualize everything?”

Well, I really don’t need to spiritualize anything, for the greater part of the entire canon of 66 books has already been spiritualized by the Holy Spirit of promise. Many scriptures would denote that: e.g. “A veil is over their eyes in the reading of Moses”. The fact that it has been written “a spiritual book” veils it to them. Again, “Hear ye indeed but understand not, and see ye indeed but perceive not…” Isa.6:9. Upon first glancing upon a scripture you may get the surface meaning, but you must look deeper to gain Truth. When you read that the sun darkens, the moon turns red like blood, the stars fall and the mountains and islands move out of place, it may be difficult to see that this refers to your little world, as the sixth seal is removed.

Not to worry, for this is personally tailored for you and you alone. Such a word should be a comfort to us, for we have been overly concerned about the wild prophecies out there and most of those are as the stars (imaginations) that fall. Hence the authority they are presuming is as the mountains (authorities) that crumble. (I believe in prophecy, but all these must be tested and tried).

To continue on the idea of your world, we may say that, in fact, you are that world; see, we are as planetoids in our particular orbit. We have a sun (Son) in our heavens (region of loftier godly thinking i.e. mind of Christ). We have thousands of stars in our heavens (i.e. imaginations). These are good when they tend rewards the reality of a closer touch with Him. And, as planetoids we have much earth (Adamic trials) left to deal with, but there is that true scriptural prophecy of “new heavens and new earth.”

I don’t think this will be a new line of thought for you, for we hear such expressions as: “He appears to be an island unto himself” or “That angry fellow seems to live under a thunder-cloud”. Or, as the scriptures say, “the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.Gen. 1:2

God has planned, since the foundation of the world, to reform our earth. Think of all the beautiful things made from earth and taken from the earth—glimmering china, sparkling diamonds, pure gold. He is the Master Craftsman—as He breaks open the sixth seal, everything will be shaken. He will winnow away all things earthy (Adamic) and only the precious will remain, and all will be “Light”. (Gen. 1:3).

Newsletter No. 184 – May, 2002

“….and when He (the Lamb) had opened the seventh seal there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.” Rev. 8:1.

Previous to the mention of the seventh seal, the scriptures tell of the sealing of the true servants of God in their foreheads. “After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes and palms in their hands” Rev. 7:9.

“Amen! (So be it) they cried: Blessing, and glory, and majesty, and splendour, and thanks, and honor, and power (be ascribed) to our God to the ages and ages—forever and ever, throughout the eternities of the eternities! Amen!” Re. 7:12 Amplified.

As we approach unto the opening of the seventh seal, the last hurdle, the final “Everest-type” push up the mountain, we proceed with some trepidation. If we miss a step we could end up at the bottom of the canyon one quarter of a mile below. If we spend all our strength and energy on ascending the present rocks and crags, where do we go then? Hence, each step must be measured by our present Guide, else the mountaintop (Canaan Land) is lost for another eon.

After the sixth seal is taken care of, I’m thinking we’ll have “waters to swim in.” I will once more call upon Sister Jane Leade’s insights:

“It was given me to observe that there are six engagements to which six overcomings do answer, mentioned in the Revelation and to every conquest a most high and wonderful reward promised. All which is to encourage to follow Him cheerfully who is our leader, who hath sworn that time shall be no longer than till he hath gotten the victory over the Beast and Whore and hath destroyed the dragon’s kingdom in every property within us who are elected to reign in His life with Him on His throne with a train of new created power in the properties of the redeemed earth in the soul’s essence. Then we shall know how unconfined the lordly dominion over all outward things is, even over all the beasts of this visible earth who must be subjected to the Lamb who hath taken His victorious crown and put it on the heads of the holy warriors that have passed through all and are come to the last overcoming that gives entrance into the Seventh Seal.

“As I was collecting in my mind the near approaching time for the manifestation of this great overturning, which is to bring in the overflowing stream of Christ’s kingdom into the overcomers, behold, I did see and hear the voice of Him from whom the first heavens and earth did flee away, who uttered these words,

“There hath been a long and tedious war between the house of God and the Serpent’s brood, together with the Harlot and Beast who have maintained their envious war on the ground of fallen nature. But now come and see the place where they shall lie bound in perpetual captivity.”

“And immediately I was all filled with light from the opened center of the peaceable kingdom that flows in as a virtual life, felt in the quality of the pure glassy sea, with sounds, powers and lightnings as if all the old earth were now drowned in this bright ocean. And followed a bright star with a voice going forth which said,

“The Lamb riseth out of this new Elementary Sea, overcomes the Serpent and Beast with all their seed, and this will be their deluge to an everlasting victory.” (Quoted from The Vision of the New Jerusalem, Part I).
