What is your identity? Are you a holy person or an unholy person? There is a reluctance to answer, to say that you are holy, isn’t there? On the other hand, you don’t want to say that you are unholy either.

Yet, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Prov. 23:7) I’ve learned in my inner exploration of the kingdom of God that everything about this new inner kingdom is holy! The entire new spiritual form of life in process of development by the person of the Holy Spirit within me is holy! It is my new holy life form in spiritual light, completely unseen by physical eyes.

The reason this is so is because there is only one Holy being in the universe, who is a Holy family of many members, beginning with Holy Father, Holy son and Holy Spirit. The higher realm of this family is called the kingdom of heaven or the kingdom of God. This realm is the realm of holy life, eternal life. I’ve discovered that everything concerning God’s family is holy! For instance, we are a holy temple, (I Cor. 3:17) a holy priesthood, (I Pet. 2:5) a holy people, (Is. 62:12) a holy nation, (I Pet. 2:9) a holy city, the New Jerusalem. (Rev. 21:2).

Does this make me a super Christian? No, God doesn’t have any of those. It just makes me his holy child, one member among a multitude of his holy people. I f Christ, the holy one, dwells in you and in me, that is what makes us holy! It is his holy life now being lived out in us. (Gal. 2:20). There is nothing about us physically that is holy. (Jn. 6:63; Rom. 8:8).

As we journey deeper into the inner holy land, so to speak, it is a living experience of our Father’s continual presence within us, and where He is present, nothing that is unholy can enter. (Rev. 21:27). By our oneness in Spirit being with him, He gives us the vision and plan He has purposed from the beginning for his whole creation. (Col. 1:26-27; 3:3-4) This is the plan and vision! It is written, “Be you holy: for I am holy.” (I Pet. 1:16; Lev. 11:44) Our holy Father never expected us to try to make ourselves holy by putting on black, gold, or scarlet robes to appear before men as holy. No, the holiness of Christ lives in us, is so we may come into his holy presence in our inner man, presenting ourselves to him in spirit where He is. (John. 4:24; Col. 3:1)

How is it possible for God’s sons to “be holy?” To me it means being holy by an “other,” the holy one given to me in Christ Jesus, whose holy life is being lived out in me. (Gal. 2:20) It is impossible for the human person, born into the unholy world that men and Satan have created, to work out a holy life by finite mind. God’s higher way of holiness is an exchange, a gift! Jesus at the cross took my old unholiness, all of it to himself, and gave me his holy life in exchange!

Isaiah put it best. This higher work of holiness given the son of God is a gift! to give to us “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness!” (Isa. 61:3) This is God’s gift in Christ, who is “a stone of stumbling” (I Pet. 2:8) to all those trying to work their way to a far off heaven that always remains in the realm of tomorrow. The gift of God is today, this moment!

To fulfill the purpose of our Lord, in creating man, that He himself have a dwelling place in the earth, (Ps. 90:1; 132:13) He needs a holy and live people, a holy and live body, a holy and live temple. The days of holy structures made of dead animal skins are past. Dead sacrifices have also passed!

Now we’re ready for our holy identity in spirit being. The kingdom of God is holy, therefore, to be manifested in the earth, it needs holy people, a holy bride for the Lord. Here is where the prophecy of our appearing, (Is. 62:10-12), and the Lord’s appearing coincide as one event. When we appear, He appears! When He appears, we appear as Him! (I Jn. 3:2). We appear at the throne of heaven in Him as a Holy son of God! “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” (Col. 3:4) He appears in us on earth as the holy son of man. We are the holy feast of atonement between earth and heaven.

God’s holy land today is who and what we are in our hearts! We are the vessel made of earthen clay by the Master Potter, (Is. 29:16; 45:9; 64:8; Jer. 18:6; Rom. 9:21) which holds His treasures within! (II Cor. 4:7) We are the new land of promise that is in our holy Lord, Christ Jesus. He is present in the dust that we are made of in our humanity, and as He told Moses at the burning bush, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” (Ex. 3:5) Why was it holy? Because God was there. When He is present in me and in you, we ourselves are holy ground!

God’s children are at last keeping the holy feasts of atonement and tabernacles with him, which has been his purpose on earth from beginning to end. Our identification as God’s holy people is already made known unto “the principalities and powers in heavenly places!” (Eph. 3:10) Christ Jesus has made us known to all of heaven. Now it is time for us to know and acknowledge ourselves to be his holy people in earth because He is holy! If we don’t know that by faith, no one else will ever know it. “Be you holy, for I am holy,” saith the Lord God almighty, who reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
