“To God’s elect, strangers in the world, scattered throughout….who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood.” (1 Peter 1:1-2)

I am always glad to hear from those who are on my list and anytime you feel led to write me a note with a request for prayer I will endeavor to pray with you.  Jesus tells us in Matthew that when two agree on anything they ask it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  Over the years when folks come to Ruby and I wanting us to pray for or with them we endeavor to discern where we can agree with them.  There is an awesome power of God in this simple equation of two folks agreeing on anything.

Ruby and I work on finding a place of agreement a lot more than we do on praying.  It takes time to really hear one another out so that our hearts can come into agreement.  In our walk together it is usually myself that is the visionary and Ruby is usually the feeling side or emotions.

The Lord spoke to me many years ago that I am the type that would get into a boat and push off from shore without any oars.  On the other side of this boat trip Ruby is the kind that would make sure we had more than enough life vests and oars and provisions of every kind. It is no easy thing to get these two very different personalities into agreement.  Proverbs 16 describes me most of the time. “To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the reply of the tongue.  All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:1-3)

It is not easy on my ego to want to hear out Ruby on a matter that I am positive I have the final word on from the Lord.  I just want her to agree with me so we can get on with the program.  When I really commit my vision to the Lord and thank Him for using my sweet wife to check out my motives I discover she is more than eager to agree with me when she has peace to walk with me.  “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.” (Colossians 3:15)

This is such a wonderful passage of scripture that I want to quote it from the Amplified Bible.  “Let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from the Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts – deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds – (in that peaceful state) to which (as members of Christ’s) one body you were also called (to live).  And be thankful – appreciative, giving praise to God always.”

I love the word umpire in this passage.  We are to allow the peace of God to act as an umpire in our lives.  Praise God for His peace.  It is hard to be deceived when we are willing to work together with someone until we come into peace together.  I am so grateful to the Lord for helping me to trust the Lord in my wife and the reward that is ours when we truly come into agreement.

Again, let us remind ourselves that we can ask anything of the Father and it will be done when we can agree with someone.   This is His wisdom which comes down from heaven above. “The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.  Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.”  (James 3:17-18)

Thank you for agreeing with us about rain in Israel.  When Ariel Sharon came to the White House a couple of months ago to visit the President something happened in the atmosphere over Israel.  I told Ruby at the time that the Lord had shown me that something happened in the atmosphere because of the agreement between the President and Sharon.

The next week it began to rain in Israel and Jerusalem received 27% of its annual rainfall in three days.  Glory!   Israel has now received over 150% of its normal rainfall since this meeting in Washington.  Agreement is powerful.  Continue to agree with us for more rain that the land might be blessed.
