PUT a DIFFERENCE
BY: RAY PRINZING
“And I will put a division between My people and thy people: tomorrow shall this sign be. And the Lord did so.”
This word “division,” the Hebrew “peduth,” is used elsewhere as redemption, and while it includes the thought of separation, it is separation as the result of redemption.
Eventually Israel did leave Egypt, but first there was an irrefutable witness given, as God worked a REDEMPTIVE – SEPARATION between His own, and the Egyptians. When this was done, so that no more did plagues come upon the Israelites, all the land bear witness that these people belonged to Jehovah, a different God than the gods they served.
“That ye may know that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.”
Put a difference – literally, sever, set apart.
“For wherein shall it be known here that I and Thy people have found grace in Thy sight? Is it not in that Thou goest with us? So shall we be separated, I and Thy people, from all the people that are on the face of the earth.”
